19/08/2026: Everything I would want in a pub and dining experience. They introduced me to a local whisky that will make me long for it when I get back to the states. You can’t go wrong here and the staff made me feel like a treasured guest.

16/08/2026: Genuinely one of my favourite pubs in Ireland. Staff are so helpful, the bouncers are great craic and the venue is fantastic. Gigs here are always 10/10, Limerick fans know how to rock 🤘

10/07/2026: Everything was absolutely fantastic. Even from before our arrival at the restaurant, the contact and communication from Linda and the team ensured a perfect dinner. Most of our had the steak (which is the best in limerick for sure) along with the monkfish and pork belly. Everyone was delighted with th food it was AMAZING. The service and staff are all so fab and accommodating, service was fun and always with a smile. I haven’t been here in a good few years and I must sa, Freddy’s has kept the same consistency now as it has ten years ago. I look forward to going back soon.

30/06/2026: Here for a couple weeks for work and I reserve seating for my coworker and myself. I would have to say it’s one of the best spots that I have tried in Limerick. I had the pork tacos, ohhh so good. Steak was tender as can be. Lemon tart was good. I would highly recommend both the pork tacos and the steak.

17/06/2026: Great experience! I went with a friend to have a cocktail on the hotel terrace and I was surprised by the quality price, in addition to a quiet and very beautiful environment next to the river. I was attended by a very nice guy, I think his name was Vicente, thank you very much I'll be back for sure!

21/05/2026: One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at! Amazing concierge service, rooms, location, room service, breakfast, etc. We had a great time here and it was the perfect location for us to walk all of Limerick and learn the city. We loved our room and housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping it clean during our stay. We didn’t want to leave!

19/08/2026: A limerick classic with great music and Irish dancers. We went back a couple of times and nothing disappointed.

15/08/2026: The burgers are very good and the servers are very friendly. However, the wait is very long and the restaurant is extremely noisy, especially during live music. We left as soon as we finished our meals with headaches from the noise. Avoid going on Saturday nights for an indoor meal.

12/07/2026: I love coming to this place to eat, have a beer, and watch a game. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is great. Plus, there's live music on weekends and a pool table.

28/05/2026: Revisited the Woodlands with the IMET retreat. It has become an annual event and I love it. I look forward to the hotel, the bedroom, the food, the grounds, the spa ... It's just magic. 15/07/2026: Stopped in Adare on the way to Kerry for lunch with the kids. We were given a bar menu rather than the menu shown on the website. The waitress didn't seem to be listening to our order and had to come back to confirm what we had asked for. We ordered the kids' pasta and kids' burger. The pasta was simply an adult-sized portion of plain pasta with a tiny side of what tasted like jarred pasta sauce no more than two or three tablespoons to mix in. The kids' burger had to be sent back twice. The first time, both the bun and burger were burnt. It came back with a fresh bun but the same burnt burger, suggesting they had simply swapped the bun. We sent it back again. For the adults, we ordered the buffalo wings, truffle fries, and lamb stew. The truffle fries were alright. The buffalo wings were submerged in an oddly sweet sauce with peppers that tasted more like a Thai-style curry than buffalo sauce. The lamb stew was pale and looked like it had come from a pre-made packet. The broth had the thick, gloopy consistency of the filling from a tinned pie, as though it had been heavily thickened with cornflour. The total came to €58, which felt very poor value for the quality of the food. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. I'd recommend saving your money and eating elsewhere.

05/08/2026: The Top House is a great pub. Donal and his young team behind the bar are very friendly and professional. They pro-actively seek out customers looking to be served, unlike some other local barstaff who try to avoid eye contact at all costs. It's clear that Donal puts in considerable effort in training, developing and coaching his team who aspire to develop the skills that you would see in the busiest and best pubs around the world (especially in the US). They are also very good at judging whether to have the sport on in the background or, if it's a big match, play the commentary and make it an occasion! The food is really excellent - especially the fish and chips. I'm also a regular for their breakfast - which is great - served quickly and fresh. The pub also has a separate area for events which can comfortably cater for at least 60 people. We held a family birthday there recently - which went really well. They coped with a large food order without a problem, and all the alcohol prices are maintained at pub level rather than the premium you would pay in any restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend the Top House for a quiet drink with friends and family, or to celebrate a big occasion.

17/05/2026: Visited the mustard seed for dinner. Lovely atmosphere. Staff very attentive from the moment we arrived. I enjoyed sitting in the front living room, having a drink before our meal by the fire. Cannot fault the food. All fabulous. Due to high price point (but it is beautiful fine dining) I would personally only visit for a special occasion. I will return for a different special occasion and look forward to trying more items on the menu.
