14/06/2025: What an amazing little gem, hotel is beautifully kept, rooms were warm and cozy, the staff were so helpful and welcoming, wishing us a safe onward journey, will definitely be back! Good was also amazing! Steak is a must!

07/06/2025: The steak salad was the best I’ve had in a long time - Mizuna/mustard greens with steak, pickled ginger, and peanuts in a spicy dressing. My husband’s lamb stew looked fresh, meat was good. So happy to find a salad in Ireland that wasn’t just a few pieces of cos/romaine with a salty dressing. If I were staying longer in Sligo I would go back again.

05/06/2025: We had no reservation. The place looked busy which is a good sign. Super welcoming staff who sat us immediately. Couldn't be nicer. The food was incredible. The prawn noodle dish was insanely delicious and my partner had the fisherman's pie which was equally amazing. We will most definitely be back. Thanks Austies. The fact fleetwood mac The Chain came on the sound system increased my love of this spot. Loved it.
29/05/2025: Visited recently - it was extremely busy but we managed to get a table. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Food was superb!

07/06/2025: I actually came here because I wanted a Sheppard's pie. Unfortunately, they don't always have them. So I opted for fish and chips and was disappointed by a bland fish with a pile of peas and a thimbleful of tartar sauce.
The sauce and the peas would have been bearable if at least the fish had tasted good.
What a shame!
The staff were friendly and the place was quite large, so getting a table wasn't a problem.

08/06/2025: Food and service were exceptional. Coffee was pretty good as well. Parking outside is pretty busy but there is a large car park just round the corner.
01/06/2025: We had to wait for the ladies on the till to finish their conversation before ordering, The latte is so watered down it is terrible sadly I got it for takeaway as we were in a rush. Iced tea was quite nice

07/06/2025: From the outside the hotel looks very good. But inside it is worn out. First we got a much smaller room than we had booked. Fortunately this was quickly corrected. Although the beds slept well there was still a lot wrong. Like the bathroom mirror that hangs much too low and the light above it does not work. The water in the shower does not get warm enough to shower comfortably. Also you can not stand under the jet because it is only aimed at the wall. And every car/truck that rushes past is clearly audible.

20/03/2025: Had a vegan breakfast here and it was amazing! The chef was lovely and made it up for me and he checked if there was anything I didn't like.
It was absolutely delicious especially the mushrooms, and the walnut and aubergine hummus was an extra delicious touch!
Highly recommend!

Divine, wholesome, home cooked food. Great portions and fantastic value for money.
In times where it's a luxury to eat out,it's nice to still be able to go in somewhere like Muddy Burns and see a menu priced so competitively and fairly.
Plenty space for groups with cosier booths and tables for smaller gatherings. Friendly and helpful staff, couldn't fault a thing except that I hadn't discovered this gem of a place before now..I will definitely be back and recommending it to others.
09/05/2025: This was my second time to visit Muddy Burns, the first time was faultless, food, service, everything was perfect, this time however was a disappointment. The food was nice, but not great, I had fishcakes and could have saved money by getting them from Aldi. The portions were mean. One of the group had lasagne, which looked and tasted horrendous. The two stars I'm giving here are solely because the service saved it from being a complete disaster.
