09/11/2025: Good food great for damily meal.

01/11/2025: In a world speeding up with seeming indifference to strangers and travelers on the rise, the Coach House Hotel stands alone in defense of the old ways. People matter here, as you'll be able to tell from the moment you step through their doors. Everything in my room was very clean and comfortable, and every single staff member I encountered went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care with a smile. And the food, well, it was one of the best meals I've had in the whole of Ireland. You can tell a master at work when such seemingly simple ingredients as chicken and potatoes are not only presented so beautifully but clearly cooked with love and attention to detail. I will be going out of my way to come back as often as possible.

22/11/2025: We got a great spot by the fire, inside. It was busy but not overcrowded at 6pm on a Friday. Service was excellent. I was relieved that the soup was vegan and it was good soup. The only other vegan menu item is pizza. It's the lack of healthy vegan options that will likely cause our group to look elsewhere. Like other pubs, sugar and alcohol free beverages are limited.

03/11/2025: Great spot for Dinner! We had a really good dinner here and enjoyed the good vibes from the bar and the waiters & waitresses. Everything was freshly made and just tasted amazing!

18/11/2025: Visited bank holiday Sunday and this place was fabulous. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that I had to queue. Omg the food was amazing, the staff are so helpful. I will be back! Very busy but obviously it's because it is excellent.

11/11/2025: Love this hotel got a fantastic balcony room it was outstanding got a lovely treat as we were celebrating 40th wedding anniversary, the hotel is so central in Sligo, private parking underneath hotel a small fee for secure parking. Our meal was beautiful and breakfast was outstanding too can’t wait to go back. The hotel staff was outstanding and attentive great hotel to visit.

14/10/2025: Lovely Irish country pub that is a great spot for a drink and bit of food. Lots of food options from breakfast to dinner and everything is very clean. Burger is the best I've had anywhere and reasonably priced too All the staff are very friendly and professional. More than capable of dealing with larger numbers of people too. We were with them for the afters of a funeral and they couldn't have done anymore with food and service on the day. No one left hungry Enjoy

09/11/2025: We visited Shells Café on a Sunday for breakfast. The full Irish was nice overall, the sausage was lovely, though the beans weren’t great. The poached eggs eggs tasted quite strongly of vinegar. We also had to call the staff several times, as different parts of our order had been forgotten. We understand it was a busy Sunday morning, but the service felt a bit disorganised and below what we expected. The café is lovely but not very clean, which was a bit disappointing. Still, the staff were friendly, and a walk along the coastline after breakfast is highly recommended, the views are beautiful and make up for the wait.

02/11/2025: Lovely little place, right on the seafront; good variety, a little expensive but food quality and service were great and it wouldn't stop a return trip.

22/12/2025: Wow! We went for our dinner our first night of arriving and wow. Partner had fish and chips and I had the pork belly. What a fabulous restaurant and food to die for. Fish was humongous and tasty and the pork belly was incredible, crispy on top and soft meat. Lovely friendly staff, quiet bar/restaurant and no fuss. Will be back here for sure as this was one of the best meals we had whilst in the north west.

19/08/2025: Had dinner here last friday night with my husband,booking is recommended,very busy spot.food was very nice,service was fast and friendly,the atmosphere is lively,and the cocktails are yummie.would definitely return here

18/08/2025: Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our visit to the restaurant. Very high prices for small dishes without any seasoning. The burger was unfortunately very dry and not particularly well-prepared. It's a nice place to sit outside, but the music was a bit loud.

25/10/2025: There’s something quietly noble about a place like Lags Bar. No pretense, no tasting menus, no one trying to reinvent the potato — just solid food, the kind that fills your stomach and makes you feel human again. We started with the Mexican potatoes — a Frankenstein’s monster of spuds, minced meat, and molten cheese. Messy, indulgent, and exactly what you want with the first sip of a pint. It’s not a starter that asks for approval; it just shows up and gets the job done. The steak sandwich followed — simple, meaty, unapologetic. The fish and chips came out crisp, golden, and properly fried — the kind of thing that reminds you how good bar food can be when people still give a damn. And of course, a pint of Guinness — dark, creamy, perfectly settled. It’s the punctuation mark at the end of a meal that doesn’t try to impress, only to satisfy. Lags Bar isn’t chasing trends. It’s feeding people. And that’s something worth sitting down for.

29/10/2025: Absolutely delicious breakfast- really excellent value for our family of six. We had two full Irish/Nook, eggs Benedict, French toast and porridge.

18/10/2025: Driving from Derry to Galway, we found Nook Cafe in Collooney; it was a real find. Great brisket toasties! Thanks to all the staff for a great lunch.

14/12/2025: We had a fabulous time. My very first experience here was in the early evening and I spoke to a lad at the bar who did not want me to be there. But after going out for our Christmas dinner, we were really really pleasantly surprised. The food and atmosphere were fantastic. This was the 3rd choice. Talk about 3rd time charm

10/12/2025: Had an absolute howler. The website booked me in for the 9th to the 10th even tho I booked it at 1 oclock on the 10th so they booked me in for the day before i was supposed to be there and wouldn’t give me a refund. I understand my mistake but that’s still no reason to take my money off me 😂
