The best restaurantsof irish in Sligo

15/12/2024: We sat down at 6 pm and ordered our starter,5 minutes later it arrived which we thought was quick, as soon as we were finished our mains arrived 3 minutes later , by 6.30 we had mains eating and they were trying to get a dessert order which we had to refuse because everything was so rushed we just finished our wine and left, very rushed experience felt they couldn't get us out quickly enough, kind of ran like a factory, food could have been hotter also, would not be returning, next time we want fast food experience McDonald's will do the trick

23/11/2024: Wow! We didn't have a reservation; but, they were able to squeeze us in. We just came for a pint and the trad session; but, couldn't resist ordering the camembert. A-May-Zing!!! Then we had to order the sticky wings and they were impressive as well. And, so much fun to listen to the superb trad session and wash everything down with a couple of pints (Guinness and Orchard Thieves). Well Done :)

08/11/2024: I was very surprised at how good the hotel was for a 3star, the room I had with a riverside view was lovely, very clean, I suffer was a bad back but the bed was very comfy, very quiet, I had a lovely sleep, I had dinner in the bar the seafood chowder was lovely, staff were pleasent and very attentive to all customers, thankyou, breakfast was lovely and a great choice, I would highly recommend staying here, such a great price for bed and breakfast, Riverside is more like a 4star, I will be back again and thankyou for a lovely stay.

28/10/2024: Where do I start.. first the service, we were greeted at the door and given a wait time, it’s never more than 10/15 minutes. All the staff are top notch, friendly, fast and ON THE BALL. Seriously some of the best staff in a restaurant I’ve seen in a while. The food Good quality, no frills food. It’s home style cooking at its best. Dinners that give you a nostalgic feeling of eating in the home house. It’s not fine dining by any stretch- but that’s not what you’re here for. Hearty portions of good grub. The price Seriously? Starters for €6.50 or €7 This is insane these prices like are like pre covid Coming here for 2 starters 2 mains and a few drinks is EASILY €20 cheaper than most other restaurants. Amazing value for money

20/10/2024: Had breakfast here on Saturday morning just gone… got the vegetarian option ( as it sounded so tasty) but asked for a couple of rashers instead of mushrooms.. no problem at all… lovely easy going young fella at the till.. wonderful fresh orange juice… food really tasty, hot and fresh… place was bustling and great atmosphere… really impressed.. well done all 🙌

12/10/2024: Consistently amazing food. The quality, taste and variety makes this one of my favourite places to go out for food in Sligo. The setting and service is brilliant. I'm a frequent visitor and look forward to the next time I'm in.

04/12/2024: The Glasshouse is ideally located in the centre of Sligo town, close to all the shops, amenities etc. A lovely hotel, spacious, comfortable rooms,great food and drink. Underground parking so your vehicle is safe and secure during your stay. Lovely friendly, helpful staff. A great atmosphere and very relaxing spot. Our go to place when staying in Sligo and would definitely recommend to anyone.

09/11/2024: This hotel deserves fives across the board. I've only tried the food so far and it's fabulous! From the presentation to the taste to the reasonable price, it's perfect! Location hits the spot - next to the river in the center of the town. Easy 5 stars.

07/12/2024: Disappointed with overall experience. The older staff member who showed us to our seating was unfriendly. The cubicle we were seated at was too small for two separate tables with two separate couples. It meant we couldn’t speak without the other’s overhearing. There were several other free tables. Surely this lady should realise that people couldn’t possibly have a private or comfortable conversation in that cubicle. The serving staff were excellent and really friendly and efficient. The soup which was very tasty but it was lukewarm. We were so hungry that we ate it. The sandwich had very fatty bacon which maybe could have been trimmed off as it said crispy bacon on the menu. These may be small complaints but overall the experience was disappointing.
