03/11/2024: Incredibly good beef roast 💯 and also the beef stew was amazing too - a great atmosphere and vibe too - met the owner and his sons who were super cool too - one of my friends that came said the food was like a hug for his belly - go there u won’t be disappointed 👍🏻

27/10/2024: Dear Cove Bar Team, I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent experience at your establishment. We had high expectations for our visit, but unfortunately, the service and overall experience fell short from beginning to end. Initially, when we tried to make a booking by phone, we couldn’t reach anyone despite several attempts. Understanding it may be a busy spot, we decided to go in person. However, to our surprise, the bar and restaurant were quiet, yet the staff member handling bookings was nowhere to be found. When we finally located them, they were sitting at the bar with a customer deep in conversation. Our booking was taken, but it certainly didn’t inspire confidence. On the day of our reservation, we noticed other patrons were also dissatisfied. The couple next to us left after waiting over an hour for their food, and a young family nearby also voiced complaints after a similarly long wait. When we ordered drinks, one glass arrived with lipstick on the rim—an oversight that certainly affected our experience. After waiting 30 minutes to place our food order (due to the kitchen being temporarily closed), we weren’t checked on or offered additional drinks. Once our food did arrive, there was no cutlery provided, and at the end of our meal, we weren’t asked if we would like dessert. On a positive note, the food itself was nice however the entire experience was disorganised, and I felt it necessary to bring this to your attention. 26/10/2024: The bouncer and staff are sound. Let me bring a (small) dog in to the outside seating area no problem. Even though we were rejected from the place across the road. Good chill atmosphere and an all around nice pub. Will go back again.

23/11/2024: First time at the reg, great spot, dj was belting out bangers, staff were quick dishing out the drinks, good vibe there, no messing, needed to get a spot of washing up liquid too and staff ready to accommodate straight away. Will definitely be back

22/11/2024: Seemed like a good spot but the food was poor. Firstly, the menu that was outside was not available as they were serving a reduced Xmas menu. Bad start. We had chicken wings and bruschetta for starters. Tasted ok but presentation was awful. No garnish. They threw up a piece of bread with a few cut ip toms although it did taste ok. Main couse was a pan fried salmon which was ok and my wife had the burger. It sounded quite elaborate on the menu but when it eventually arrived there was a burger and chips.. McDonalds is presented better. The Burger was awful tasteless and dry, it went cold within minutes. Chips were like the end of an old bag they had stashed somewhere. Service was slow and no one asked if we were enjoying the meal. Loads of people were there and actually being turned away as had no reservation. Cant help feeling that they could do better but they just didnt have to as it was packed, so why bother. €72 for 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains. Take my advice and Don't bother…

30/10/2024: Atmosphere on a fairly quiet Tuesday evening but we were really looking for that. A sublime choice of crafted beers. Personally I was able to taste a particularly interesting oyster stout and an excellent OHaras 51 state. Rock music for people my age, quite nostalgic for the 90s 😂. Edit: second evening here. Fu.king good playlist! Even my 20-year-old daughter, a music expert and student in Waterford, thought it was amazing! And my beer is still just as good!

31/10/2024: Absolutely loved our stay in the granville hotel ,the staff are absolutely amazing and the food is outstanding from bar food to the restaurant, the hotel itself is a wonderful old building that's so warm and comfortable and very convenient to all Waterford has to offer ,we will definitely return to this wonderful hotel and its warm friendly staff.

07/10/2024: Upon visiting waterford for business purposes I popped into the hotel for breakfast. It was 09.57hrs , the lady at the desk stated to make our way over to breakfast room that it was served at 10.00hrs. On making our way there a staff member in the breakfast area asked what were we doing here and we stated we were directed this way for breakfast . I have to say she was the most ignorant member of staff I have ever met told us to get out that breakfast isn't served until 10.00hrs and this was at 09.58hrs. She shut the door behind us. We therefore left and won't be returning. It takes nothing to be nice to people, and we felt like a total inconvenience to the hotel especially this staff member.

07/10/2024: Fairly good service with some nice local dishes featured on the menu. The beef and guineas stew was watery and lacked flavour and the gammon was extremely salty. The boxty and applesauce served with the gammon was a nice tough but I didn’t like how the gammon was served in a deep fried crust - it felt unnecessarily heavy.

09/11/2024: What a local gem it is! The food from the restaurant is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The shop sells great quality veggies and different foods. It is a lovely spot to go for coffee and cake to.

11/10/2024: Rooms were very nice and very roomy. Service in restaurant was always fast. Cute bar on premise. Shout out to Gary at front desk. We wanted help making a reservation for a certain restaurant in Waterford. Gary got us a reservation personally calling the restaurant manager to get us in. He went above and beyond! Thanks for a nice stay in your cute town.

23/10/2024: Got turkey and ham with just mash no veg I don't like them 15 euro asked for some extra gravey came out in the smallest jug I've ever seen and charged an extra 1 euro for it I just feel as there wasn't any veg the gravey could have been not charged for

27/09/2024: Very quite at rhe time. Very friendly staff, clean, warm great place to watch sport on TV. Bottlenose legacy cider was very refreshing, but like most bars these days on the expensive side...lovely pub/bar...

10/07/2024: Paid 350 euros for christening party food, raw sausages, chicken gougons, frozen chips, rude sullen staff, a lot of our group got no food, when I complained, 2 small platters came out an hour later. Understaffed, no glasses collected from tables, told manager was on leave. Left contact details by phone and on line, no replies. Keep away from here, total rip off
