13/08/2026: The gem of Newcastle! What a wonderful place. So cozy and unique. Definitely worthwhile visiting for any occasion, whether you're in for a pint to relax after beach walk or enjoy lunch/dinner. The beer selection is amazing. The service is stunning and staff very nice and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone. P.s. definitely try the chowder, it's amazing!

09/08/2026: Just had dinner in the Castle Inn and wow 5 stars all the way. The food is incredibly good. We had the prawns pil pil & the goats cheese parcel to start and the fish & chips and tempura prawn for mains. Every single morsel on the plate was outstanding. New to the area and very happy to have been recommended this place. Service couldn’t have been any better. For Guinness drinkers it’s a short pull set up meaning fresh clean pints every time. Ten stars. ⭐️

14/06/2026: We had a lunch with the in-laws in the upstairs rooms and it was the best service we've experienced anywhere in a long time. From the minute we arrived the staff was very attentive and friendly, we were grateful for the sea view table. We were looked after several different waiters and the whole team seemed well organised and we were checked on often, water was refilled frequently and the food arrived fast. Everything went smooth and the food was delicious and well presented. The perfect Sunday lunch for an early Father's day for my father in law. Thank you Martello restaurant! We'll be back soon hopefully!

22/06/2026: Biggest problem is that I had room 32 and on Saturday night there was a party in the hotel with a live drummer. ( later mentioned this is almost every week! ) I woke up from the noise at 11 pm and in only stopped just after 12 pm. It was terrible. I already had closed all the windows and blinds, but it was still really loud. The next morning, I complained about this and the nice lady made several remarks. • I paid over 250 euro per room ( book also one for my sun but he was at street sight - so no problem) • The lady said that this was way too high and the this was because Booking takes so much money from this. Should have been 190 euro max. This is not nice to hear. • She apologies for the noise and ask why I did come down so they could fix something. I said that to dress up and come down was not the solution. As they would not have stopped the party for me. In mine opinion they should have warned me in advance or gave me a different room or not rent out this room when there is a party like this.

28/09/2026: Hannahs was so good it's making my boyfriend mad. Just about every day I look at this picture of the beautiful triple Decker BBQ club sandwich and side of egg salad I had during my trip to Ireland and get sad that I live on a different continent. It has consumed my thoughts. I need more of it in my life. I spent about €10 for the sandwich and egg salad. Went a little crazy and got some coffee cake for less than €3 and it was also fantastic
