The staff are absolutely lovely - really friendly crew.
Haven't been in for an evening meal, but I'll definitely be giving it a crack soon.

Great food and staff
30/09/2024: Food is good (replace dry skinny french fries with chips) - but the cost of soft drinks takes the proverbial. A 200ml tiny bottle of coke for €3 - aka €5 for a standard 330ml can is The Burnaby laughing at their customers. The staff were embarrassed when I said how small the bottle is.
The place isn't that busy and won't be if you're treating Greystones locals like that. Reputation and trust are important.

26/09/2024: Delicious pub grub with generous portions from a good menu at very reasonable prices. The fish was particularly good. All in a warm cosy traditional pub atmosphere. Excellent efficient service too.

26/09/2024: We had a wonderful meal at the Bates Nua Restaurant! My daughter especially loved the vegetarian linguine. She said it was the best meal she’s had in Ireland! The atmosphere was also relaxing with great music. 10/10 experience!

28/10/2024: Highly recommended!!! We stopped for brunch and it was absolutely amazing!!! Hallumi unreal, black pudding delicious 😋 stack of pancakes yummy and the best Irish breakfast we ever had. 100% we come back!
12/10/2024: The antithesis of a greasy spoon, every morsel was a delight, could has chosen anything on the menu and be happy, I chose the Turkish eggs but every plate going out to the other diners looked every bit delicious also. If I could be negative…€3.50 for a small glass of sparkling water was hard to swallow and the scruffy planters and benches on entrance need some love 🤔

25/10/2024: Great location in Rathdrum after spending the day in Glendalough. The pub was wonderful and the food for dinner was superb! They had a wonderful full breakfast in the morning that was not only filling, but was cooked to order.
13/10/2024: Visited for breakfast, staff lovely, food excellent. Coffee and tea priced separately. Come on, beverages should be included in the breakfast !

02/10/2024: Went for lunch after a round of golf. The food was good , excellent options in salads. However I want to commend the staff who were attentive and came to our table to ensure we were able to order dessert and coffee, which we were not able to due to the crowds.
Nice work , and kudos to the staff.
13/08/2024: I recommend. After a tour of the beautiful gardens, we visited for refreshments. It was a weekday, few customers, no waiting, fast service - probably students on practice. We chose 2 quiches (heated) with vegetable salad and pasta bolognese. All very tasty. Just a small recommendation: add umbrellas to the terrace (it was a sunny day and we were very hot during the meal) + clean the table IMMEDIATELY after the guests left (they remained dirty for a long time).

09/11/2024: Avoid at all costs, worst place i’ve ever been to, 1 vodka and redbull and I am thrown outside for being too drunk AFTER being let in, the room was paid for and I am not even allowed to have a place to sleep, I showed them my credit card history so they can see how much I drank and I am being told I am escalating, I need to go home, what a joke, no refund or any compensation for the trouble, they are happy to take your money and that’s where it ends

21/10/2024: Wouldnt normally leave a bad review but the front of house guy was rude and stuck up. Food was lovely but instant regrets of not just walking out before we sat down. Very unwelcoming, lovely building and amazing decor. But very sour after loud smart remarks about us not having a reservation to other guests, food took a long time to arrive ...and this is after we where told we could only stay for a short time!....we felt rushed to leave to give the table back. Still plently of space as we left, very strange and not a nice experience

02/11/2024: We stayed here in September for a few nights and had mixed emotions about this establishment. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated, but the outside door was under the room and constantly slammed shut. We visited when the weather was hot and all the windows of the room were open. All the smoke from the patio below came into our room. We also had to try to sleep with earplugs as the live music from the bar was very loud. I did not sleep well and I didn't eat much breakfast because I was tired. I found our waitress very matter of fact and not friendly.
I can't say it is a restful place. Fine if you are at the bar all night.😏

05/11/2024: A pleasant bar in Roundwood, a village perched on the Eastern slopes of the Wicklow mountains. The atmosphere was much enhanced by a group of musicians playing and singing in the bar. Thank you ! A tasty soup and burger were enjoyed ! (NB. The price below did not include my drinks).
23/10/2024: If you want to experience an authentic Ireland, where past and present blend together with charm but also a few shadows, then head to Wicklow and have lunch at this spot. A few hours will be enough. Browse through the books and enjoy the scent of burning wood. The cuisine combines nostalgic flavors with a desire to modernize, and while it deserves a 4 out of 5, the atmosphere around you provides that extra touch, making it a 5-star experience.

22/10/2024: Popped in here a few weeks ago while waiting to meet someone in Wicklow. Nice cosy athmosphere n good pint. Did not have food but have eaten there previously n food was good but not sure if still same standard. Definitely will go bsck again n recommend if visiting the town 👍

10/10/2024: Having travelled around Europe for two months we spent a wonderful lunch time with friends at your restaurant… and it was the best food and friendly service in over eight countries.
Try the duck confit salad, mussels or any other item of your choice; flavours were amazing, portions suitable for a midday meal and attention by staff wonderful.
We would definitely recommend a stop-over if you have time. 👏
