The best restaurants in Kenmare

27/05/2025: Book a reservation beforehand (necessary because of local popularity!) as it is worth it for a great culinary experience at great value. Each component of each dish was cooked perfectly - the prawn and spinach filo pastry being a great example of complexity executed exceptionally. The mains have wonderfully balanced flavors with elements that elevate them beyond their contemporaries! Highly recommend the lamb ragu for a staple dish - and if they have the grilled sole special it is a must order. The fish fell right off the bone, and the tomatoes lifted the dish. Any restauranteur would be thrilled.

23/05/2025: We did the Beara Way and after 10 days enjoyed non-pub food. No.35 nailed is, fantastic fish, soup. Very friendly and funny service - we enjoyed the service a lot. Def a must-place if you ever visit Kenmare. (reserve upfront)

13/06/2025: If you want a fine dining experience and high quality food, this place is for you. We loved the braised brisket with mashed potatoes and steamed greens. The fresh local butter and Guinness bread were divine. The atmosphere was romantic and cozy and the service was quick and friendly.

02/06/2025: 8 days into our 14 day Ireland vacation we landed in Kenmare for 3 days and lodged at a lovely townhouse about half a mile from the city center. During our time in Ireland we had enjoyed traditional Irish cuisine, but were ready for something different. Lily House delivered in full. Lily is an upscale Thai/Chinese fusion restaurant with an interesting menu that allows the guest to customize their dish. I had the Chinese stir fry vegetables with tiger prawns and a black garlic and ginger sauce that left me wanting more. The food arrived on an iron skillet and was sizzling and crackling like a fajita dish. I ordered a bottle of a local Kenmare brewery golden lager which was the perfect beverage for my main course. I left Lily House having experienced the top meal of my trip. You can just stop in, or better yet, make a reservation.

01/06/2025: We had a wonderful experience at P.F McCarthy’s Pub & Restaurant, as a family of four. The staff were kind and friendly, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. Everything ran smoothly, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with generous portions. We had the Half roast duck (€21.00) and the Lamb burger (€17.00). Reasonable prices for everything. The atmosphere was pleasant—not too loud—and the bathroom, tables, and chairs were clean. We all enjoyed our meals and had a really nice afternoon together. Definitely a place we’d return to.

25/05/2025: We had our wedding day 2 at PFs a few weeks ago and Meg did a great job looking after us. We had the beer garden all to ourselves which comfortably fit our crowd of 60-70. We ordered from the sharing boards, which were very tasty and generously portioned! Finally, we had Dan Sweeney belting out the tunes for us providing a great atmosphere. Great pub and great service!

27/04/2025: We were there yesterday and sat outside on the terrace with our dog - the weather wasn't ideal, but we had our dog with us and wanted to have her with us too. That wasn't a problem either. The staff was very friendly and even brought us a dog bowl with water, which our dog gratefully accepted. One of us went in to order and a waiter brought our food out pretty quickly. The food was delicious and plentiful. Accordingly, the slightly higher price was completely justified. It was quite crowded and loud inside, so we had a lot more peace outside. We didn't make a reservation either and just thought we'd give it a try as we drove past.

22/04/2025: Llegamos a Kenmare y nos alegramos de nuestro be&be recomendado Casey's. La comida era deliciosa. Mi amigo tenía la suela negra y todavía está delirando al respecto. Tenía el Korma que era perfecto. Y encantado de descubrir que los propietarios tienen familia en Boston! Recomiendo encarecidamente una parada en Casey's!

18/05/2025: Worst Pizza I ever had, give up trying to make pizza in Ireland, wouldn't feed this shit to a dog

15/05/2025: This does exactly what it says on the tin. They serve pizza. No salads, no sides, just pizza. The wine choice is red or white. The pizza is gorgeous. The wine is fine. The service is efficient and friendly. The deserts looked lovely. Lots of families were eating here. Prices were reasonable.

23/05/2025: Amazing food and service - did not stay but appreciated the quiet ambience and welcoming staff

22/05/2025: Really lovely townhouse where there is great attention to detail, from the welcome truffles to the choice of shower gel. The owner is very welcoming and we were also very impressed with the range and quality of the breakfast options.

12/06/2025: I have to retract my previous review. Today 12/6/25 I brought family for dinner. One is 6ft6 and other 6ft2 and we were told to sit in a corner table. When I pulled a 2 seater table closer to make place the waiter very rudely told us we can't do that and pulled the table away. When I asked her how do we fit in, I was told, I can't make a 6bseater table to fit in, but wow, she was rude! We opted to take our custom next door to Davitts.
