25/11/2024: Beautiful dinner with my wife and 11 year old son. Neill (I believe) was so accommodating, welcoming, and charming. Entire staff top notch. Food was so absolutely gorgeous from staters through desert. Thank you!

02/12/2024: Got a large take out order at the weekend. Everything was perfect. Top class pizza and the ice cream was lovely too. Highly recommended

25/10/2024: Una persona solo puede tomar tanta comida de pub en Irlanda y cuando descubrimos este restaurante tailandés en Kenmare, (siendo la comida tailandesa nuestra cocina favorita), aprovechamos la oportunidad para cenar aquí... La comida era absolutamente deliciosa, una de las mejores comidas tailandesas que he probado... El servicio era bueno, el servicio bueno, a un precio razonable, buena cerveza y vino también. . . Muy recomendable. . . Incluso le hice un cumplido al gerente (ess) de lo buena que estaba la comida y dije que hagas lo que hagas, no cambies. Ella agradeció mucho el cumplido.

04/09/2024: We ate in the restaurant on three evenings (reservations recommended, at least for non-hotel guests like us). Parking directly in front of the house. Very friendly staff. Fantastic food, the best during our 2 1/2 week tour of Ireland (with many good restaurants visited). Prices correspond to the level (two people, starter/main/dessert, wine, beer, various non-alcoholic drinks approx. 100 euros)

01/12/2024: got seats at the bar, waited for someone to take or order, even with 3 bar staff nobody came near us to take an order so we left after a long wait, very disappointing

27/11/2024: The food was far better than expected with a nice Irish selection ( pubs these days seem to have a more international bent to them).

25/11/2024: Este camarero fue muy grosero. Me dijo que tenía que irme porque era un niño y eran más de las nueve, pero literalmente no había nadie allí. También dijeron que estaban cerrando por renovación, pero estaban literalmente abiertos. Qué pena. (Las papas fritas eran buenas, pero eso es todo)

22/11/2024: Friendly service, tasty food. Actually nothing to complain about!

10/11/2024: Nice service, good vegan food, and short waiting time despite the large number of guests. A very nice place worth visiting and trying the dishes served. Even for meat fans. The location is also very nice. Close, but off the beaten path, which makes the place very quiet. The menu is so diverse that everyone will find something for themselves.

21/10/2024: We came here because Poff was taking a few weeks break (entirely wise decision to take breaks). We were told about this place from a local shop nearby. I had googled best places in Kenmare for breakfast and the Rookery was 2nd on the list..... I am nearly scared of what number 1 could offer, as Rookery produced one of the best tasting foods that had EVER passed my lips..... let us begin the food review: My food: 'Breakfast Sambo': I don't care what part of the island you're on, this is worth driving to this cafe, simply for this sandwich alone. A blissful blend of fried egg, sausage patty and bacon on a perfectly toasted brioche bap, which actually made a tear of sheer joy slip out! I choose no relish, and it didn't need it (for me personally). The food was beyond fresh, aromatic, tasty, succulent and juicy!!! 11/10. 'The Usual': this consisted of 2 pancakes, a wee metal pot of maple syrup, 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon and 1 fried egg. My partner wanted to try the pancake, so she cut a piece off, and with seriousness and extreme gusto she uttered "mmm, now that's a f@%king pancake!" 🤣🤣🤣 she was right. Buttermilk made, fresh, fluffy, perfect pancake of sheer authentic awesomeness!!! Maple syrup was perfect blend. The rest of the food, as previously mentioned, was beyond delectable, but was nice to have them separate out of the bap. Exquisite!!! My partner: Avocado and Toast: whilst this maybe doesn't sound too exciting, again this amazing cafe managed, firstly to provide a very balanced and healthy restaurant with many options of vegetarians and even vegans. However, this sandwich came with red Sauerkraut, something which my Polish partner had never conceived the idea to pair together. The result? Explosion of taste and scrumptious textures. We both couldn't talk easily. Hash browns were added. We also had a 1 shot cappuccino (partner) and a chai latte. It was the best I had ever drunk to date. The staff were all friendly and wonderful, with a special mention to Brian (funny and skilled waiter) and Emily (epic chef at the front of the kitchen) and her team. 1 of the best foods I've had to date in my life!!! I will be driving back from 3 hours away to eat this food again. I Will make it my business to return here again. Hope this reflects whatever anyone reading this experiences too. Thanks for reading

01/12/2024: Hands down the best fish and chips! Service was wonderful and we sat upstairs which was very neat. And they served you up there. Very nice place to pop in and grab a bite when in the area.

09/11/2024: Love the upstairs sitting area and the 'specials' are amazing. Beautiful wild venison burger today. Great fish and chips you can't go wrong here

02/11/2024: We had dinner in the Lime Tree last Saturday.. This was our first time here and it’s most definitely won’t be our last ! We’ve already planned our next visit ! I have to say it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time .. and definitely the best restaurant we’ve been to when visiting Kenmare .. The scallops were the best I’ve ever had ! The hake was perfection .. My husband had the chowder & steak .. The wine was also excellent.. the staff are so professional and so so friendly & helpful .. each & every one of them .. Michael the owner & chef goes around chatting to everyone after service is over .. He’s a lovely friendly person and what a talented chef ! the meal was better than some we’ve had in michelin star restaurants .. thanks for an amazing dinner

02/12/2024: Very good location. It's a 5-minute walk to Kenmare and a quick drive to the Ring of Kerry. The staff is very nice and the breakfast is delicious and extensive. Rooms are large and have everything you need. The room service could be a little more thorough (I'm relaxed, except when there's someone else's hair on the duvet). In addition, the toilet ran slightly constantly and was not fixed despite notice. It wasn't disruptive, but it wasn't sustainable either. Otherwise, gladly again. I didn't test the wellness, but it looked very good visually.

07/12/2024: Lovely home cooked food , real winter warmers. Venison stew delicious , potatoes were mashed possibly better if had been boiled like with a traditional stew. Chilly con carne very nice but the rice was a bit to undercooked. Margarita pizza very was very nice. Overall a very nice meal 😋 staff lovely as always , we were lucky to get the best seat in the house by the open fire🔥 Very cosy indeed 😊

09/11/2024: Nous avons testé ce pub à Kenmare et n’avons pas été déçus . Le fish and chips est très bon et pour une fois le burger végétarien était excellent. Le dessert du jour était un limon pie absolument divin avec une couche de meringue extra. Pour couronner le tout ils proposent une formule pour tester 3 whisky et découvrir les différences entre des distilleries locales : super .
