28/10/2025: A true Irish pub on Kenmare's main street, where you can enjoy a truly Irish evening. The food is traditional, plentiful, and well-prepared. Needless to say, the beer is excellent and offers a wide variety of choices—a must-try. I enjoyed live music and a wonderful dinner. I highly recommend a visit.
27/10/2025: Scammers, pure and simple. Initially, we ordered a meal and three bottles of mineral water. A few minutes passed, and the waitress came back to ask us if we wanted wine and beer with the "sharing plate." We were surprised because we'd already ordered water with our meal. I asked, "No extra fee?" The waitress confirmed. We understood that it seemed to be included with the sharing plate.
In the end, they charged us for the drinks. So I couldn't think of any other term than "scammer."
When we explained afterwards that we'd been duped, the response was, "You got the drinks." There are plenty of more serious and less arrogant bars in the area.

17/08/2025: Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We recently enjoyed lunch at the Park Hotel and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes. We were given the choice of where to sit, and as it was a beautiful day, we opted for the terrace. The views across the rolling gardens down to the riverbed were simply breathtaking. The food was fresh, local, and full of flavor. Thank you for a wonderful experience — we can’t wait to return, hopefully for an overnight stay next time!

It is the ideal place for those who want to combine a holiday in nature with high-level comfort. The hotel offers picturesque views, and its proximity to forest trails makes it a great base for walks in the park.

06/10/2025: The staff and food during our 3 day stay were excellent. Joe, Cyrus and Kendra made us feel welcome and engaged with us during meals and drinks. Prices were reasonable with generous portions and great quality. My wife thought the fish n chips was the best of our trip and my hake was flaky and delicious. Bangers n Mash were top notch too! Gladly we’d stay here again.
30/09/2025: Had a couple days there. Bar noise is terrible but the bar across the street is worse. 3 am the drunks went home. I wouldn't recommend a room anywhere near the front or close to the bar if you want a good night's sleep.

17/10/2025: Nice pub with good food. We also booked a room in the pub. Relaxed atmosphere.
11/10/2025: The host family is very cheerful and genuinely concerned about the well-being of their guests. We ate the best fish and chips here so far (after many trips to England, Scotland, and Ireland). We spent five wonderful nights there. On the second floor (room 112), you can't hear any live music in the evening. Perfect, we'd come back anytime!!

08/05/2025: Very hardworking and polite workers in this takeaway. The burgers were quick, tasty and served with a smile quickly and in a dine in container. At 6.60 for 2 cheeseburgers you are a hard marker if you are able to complain.

10/08/2025: We dined at Lansdowne Restaurant on two evenings. All the dishes were excellent, with great attention to the quality of the ingredients and the preparation. The value for money is truly excellent, and the staff is very friendly and attentive.

Rooms were lovely, service was excellent and location couldn’t be any better- right in the town but not too noisy if you want an earlier night!
Such friendly staff- would 100% recommend to anyone coming to Kenmare!

13/07/2025: Esta fue nuestra primera experiencia cenando en The Horseshoe después de muchos años de simplemente "tomar bebidas" en este popular pub de Kenmare. En busca de mejillones con salsa picante los encontramos en Horseshoe. Una salsa de chile y chorizo que estaba perfecta. Los mejillones estaban cocinados en su punto justo, de modo que todos menos uno se abrieron, pero permanecieron regordetes y sabrosos en la salsa picante que estaba distribuida uniformemente sobre ellos. He probado porciones más grandes de mejillones en otros pubs, pero rara vez una salsa picante con mucho cuerpo que te pidiera que comieras la salsa que quedaba como sopa después de haber comido todos los mariscos. Nuestro mayor cumplido siempre es: "Volveremos".
10/06/2025: Gran lugar. Parece un restaurante una vez que estás en la puerta, no dejes que esto te desanime. Muy agradable. Gran stout. Muy agradable, personal amable. Comí unas pintas antes y luego volví para la cena, que estaba delicioso.

13/09/2025: Located in the heart of Kenmare, this was a fantastic place to stay. The room was clean and big, with a comfortable bed. Downstair is a bar / dining room that serves up some great meals and a nice breakfast. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. They often have local musicians to provide music in the evenings. There is some on-site and street parking, but if those are filled up there is a free public parking lot only a block away.
30/08/2025: New, spacious, and spotlessly clean room! Very friendly owners. Excellent classic Irish breakfast. Recommended!

13/08/2025: It was a lovely place to sit and enjoy some amazing coctails and great food. The place is cosy and quite big and the staff is really friendly.
11/08/2025: We stopped in for lunch at a this café bar in Killarney town. It was extremely busy, which is always a good sign, but unfortunately, the customer care and personal touch were lacking this time. Staff seemed rushed and a little detached, which took away from the overall experience.
That said, the food itself was very nice, and we will return, hopefully next time with a bit more warmth in the welcome to match the quality on the plate.
