The best restaurants in Killarney

05/09/2024: It actually took 2 tries to get into this pub, but it was worth it! Shoutout to Dearmund! (? Spelling)parents... he independently asked if we wanted the sauce on the side for our 2 year old penne, he asked if we would like it before our other food, and brought a lollipop for her at the end of dinner. I highly recommend this place!

03/09/2024: We must have hit this place on a bad day today because we ordered 2 toasted sandwiches and chips. The crisps at the side of the sandwich were stale and the chips were raw. The sandwich was really dry with hardly no filling. Server was very pleasant and apologized many times for the raw and stale food. Pity it seems like such a nice place but was very quiet even though it was lunch time. We probably won't return as it was over 14 euro for 2 dry, bare toasted sandwiches not including the raw chips which would have been another E4.70.

11/09/2024: My husband and I chose JM Reidys as a venue for our wedding day 2 celebrations and could not recommend it more. We had our own private room off the courtyard as well as some reserved tables in the smoking area. The food was delicious with everyone complimenting it and the service on the night from the staff was outstanding. They also provided a welcome to our day 2' sign and with some signage for the tables too. We would highly recommend this venue for future events

12/08/2024: We discovered the Porterhouse Restaurant via Google. The ambiance is excellent, and the staff were friendly. The food was great and very well-prepared. The steak on the hot stone was the hightlight of the evening! We would happily return!

06/08/2024: Very lovely place in the heart of town. Food was good and so were the cocktails!

13/08/2024: Delicious pizza with vegetables. On request there is also vegan pizza or you can add or omit ingredients. The owner is happy to have a chat with you.

07/08/2024: Pizzas were 100% just fab!!! Came back the second night pizzas were so nice kids loved them

29/09/2024: The service and the meal were good but we feel that the restaurant is busy despite the atmosphere.

25/09/2024: My husband and I with our 2 young toddlers went to eat dinner at the restaurant and it was very quiet. I looked over at my daughter and saw there was something moving on the table beside her. It was a maggot!!! I got the waitresses attention and she cleaned it off the table and asked did we want to move table that there was renovation works going on. We had ordered at this stage so we decided to wait for our food. Myself and my husband were in shock with what we had seen. We got our meals and the waitress was more than helpful but they did not have coleslaw or Blackcurrant Miwadi that we asked for. When it came to paying the bill they didn't make any allowances for what had happened earlier and charged in full for both myself and my husband's main courses and my childrens meals. We were very unhappy that they didn't offer to take something off the bill. We will not be returning even though this was a spot that my friends, family and I would always book for dinner.

30/08/2024: We dropped by because of the shiny look… Inside the atmosphere is rather sterile and our food seemed to be convenience Food rather than fresh made, which does not have to be bad, but neither what we expected nor what we were looking for. The staff was friendly but not exactly knowledgeable. Bottom line it did not work for us that day.

20/07/2024: Great stay, lovely and helpful staff. Short walking distance from the National Park.

07/06/2024: Very elegant hotel. A place where Queen Victoria had afternoon tea once.

06/06/2024: Great for small families. Pool is nice. Gym is solid for a hotel. Staff is friendly. Gardens are a nice walk and well maintained. Location is convenient. Rooms are available in good shape. Wi-Fi was reliable.

30/09/2024: The ambience and service were really great, but the steak sandwich was unfortunately a letdown. I ordered it medium and it was completely cooked through and dry (more than well done). Had to mmn. also a relatively large amount of “cutting out”. My friend's pasta with carbonara sauce, on the other hand, was very good, which is why it got 3 stars.

29/09/2024: We were here for dinner and everything tasted good. We had the soup of the day (vegetable), something like goulash only Irish and a cottage pie.

30/09/2024: We fell on this pub by accident and couldn’t have done better. It was late afternoon so not overly busy. They served food which was a relief and it was really very good. Great choices on the menu, knowledgeable staff to help with decisions and a good understanding of gluten free. The food was first class. Highly recommend.

21/09/2024: Stopped by for some lunch after a visit to the Phoenix Park. Service was prompt and the lunch menu was very good. I opted for the steak sandwich and my wife had the fish and chips. The portion sizes were very good and the food was delicious. The prices were on par with others in the area and I though were very reasonable for the quality of the food. Highly recommended!

29/08/2024: Casual and welcoming asian restaurant where to have amazing food, absolutely delicious! Perfect for vegans as well. I'll definitely be back.

25/08/2024: Beaucoup de choix, les plats étaient copieux et vraiment excellents, nous nous sommes régalés. La salle est jolie et bien décorée.

10/09/2024: Fantastic seafood, lots of variety on the menu and daily specials. Great service. We always try to get a table here when we are in Killarney. Best oysters anywhere.

07/09/2024: Fantastic food and excellent service! This place is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Ireland. The Steak Sandwich had fantastic flavor with the Ballymaloe relish which was slight sweet, but balanced by the grilled onions, mushrooms, and pepper sauce that I drizzled on top (the sauce came on the side). My husband’s fish and chips were delicious too… but the steak sandwich was by far the star of the show.

22/09/2024: Based on all the positive reviews we were exited to try the pastry here. The staff were friendly and nice. But, the pastry was by far the worst pastry we’ve ever tried. The spinach cheese pie was salty and drenched in oil. And my meat pie was just flour and oil. I’d say by eating those pies you’re easily drinking half glass of oil. I wouldn’t recommend this bakery at all.
