The best restaurants in Killarney

30/03/2025: Our family suite was very spacious for a family of 4. The room and bathroom itself were definitely outdated and in kind of rough condition. The location had beautiful mountain views however it wasn't walkable to town. 20 minutes. The breakfast was nice.

03/03/2025: Just back from spending a weekend here for my partners birthday. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. From the moment we entered to the moment we left we enjoyed every bit of it. We got a complimentary room upgrade on check-in. A lovely special touch in the room with a birthday card and cookies for my partners birthday. Huge room with robes and slippers and a beautiful view of the Kerry mountains. Only 5 mins by car to the town with a cheap taxi service to/from. The spa was amazing and the Thai masseuse was the best I experienced. The breakfast had such a wide variety and was so delicious. We didn’t eat in the bar or restaurant so can’t comment on that but really can’t wait to go back again.

03/05/2025: What a cool spot! Located right in the town center just steps away from everything Killarney has to offer. The staff was absolutely amazing and made the stay so comfortable you felt like you were staying at a family members home. They even surprised us with one of their premier king rooms since it was my wifes birthday. Buckleys Bar was a cool spot and had great food, so did the breakfast every morning downstairs. The room was very historical, but clean and tidy, my wife absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody looking to get a real original taste of Killarney!

05/05/2025: It was our 3rd time here,all for very special occasions. Highly recommend it. It's not cheap but it's totally worth it . The atmosphere is lovely, the service is very efficient and friendly and the food is divine. We had scallops and carpacio of beef to start, the beef had an Asian sauce it was delicious ! Steak and salmon for mains ,a delicious bottle of vino and some Irish coffee to finish.our waitress was called Anna, and she was smashing! Friendly, informative, and an absolute pleasure. Lesley was the maitre d ,friendly, welcoming, warm,and amusing. We felt so special. Of the 3 times ( all great), this was the best. Certainly made a special occasion even more special, we will remember this for a long time .We will definitely return. Thank you so so much, guys !

03/05/2025: Such a cute spot with amazing vegan seafood options!! My partner even emailed ahead to check if they could accommodate vegan gluten free and they way delivered beyond expectations for us. The waitress was so nice, made us feel so welcome and looked after, and gave us a lovely table even though we realised we had accidentally booked the wrong night and it was already so late for them. She could have easily turned us away and been rude but wasn’t. In fact, all the staff there was lovely. Thank you to Ella and the team in the kitchen making such lovely vegan dishes and creating such a warm atmosphere. We will be back again!

21/05/2025: We ordered the roast leg of lamb with gravy and the marinated pork medallions. For dessert, we had cheesecake. Everything was delicious.

05/05/2025: Murphy’s is a great restaurant, well worth a visit. While the prices are slightly higher than in some other places, the portions are absolutely generous, making it excellent value for money. The staff are very helpful and welcoming, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this place!

17/05/2025: Authenticity. Top food. Great service. Nice atmosphere. If we go to Killarney again we will definitely come back. Rating 4.4 is too low in my opinion.

30/04/2025: I have ordered cakes from O’Carroll’s for a number of occasions including our wedding cake and my wife’s 30th birthday. The cakes have always tasted outstanding. Everyone raves about them they are a real crowd pleaser. Gary clearly has passion for his work, the cakes are very reasonably priced, very generous portions and always fresh and tasty. Gary has also been extremely accommodating. I highly recommend O’ Carroll’s cakes for any occasion you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for all the lovely cakes we look forward to ordering more in the future.

29/04/2025: I cannot begin to tell you how extraordinary O'Carroll's Cakes will be to us, forever. We were on vacation in Ireland from New Hampshire, USA. We called them on a busy day. We were celebrating a Birthday and they went out of their way to fit in a cake for us! We had no idea that the cake would not only commemorate a Birthday but also an engagement! The cake was perfect, delicious, and beautiful. Thanks, O'Carroll's Cakes!

05/05/2025: This review is about sustainability only! Just a short walk away from the Killarney national Park, I was very disheartened to see the sheer amount of plastic wrapped around nearly everything in your produce section at the store. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Over 95% of the plastics that we create and consume, do not actually get recycled, but rather end up in landfills, incinerators, and in bodies of water. These plastics break down into micro plastics That leach chemicals into our ecosystems and into our bodies. I understand that this complaint is better funneled to your leadership, who can make choices about your suppliers. But it needs to be said: It is absolutely absurd that the food we are eating, especially food that is coming directly from the ground, gets wrapped in such a gross barrier. And it is even more absurd that the customer has no choice in the matter. I scanned the entire produce section and found very little that was not wrapped in plastic. I was especially disheartened to see that everything in the organic section was wrapped in plastic. Surely, there is a way you can work with your produce suppliers to mitigate the sheer amount of plastic created in just this one small section of the store. Ireland is a gorgeous country, surrounded by water, and filled with gorgeous landscapes. And it is an absolute shame to limit your customers to products that pollute those very landscapes, and global landscapes at large. The plastic pollution crisis is not going to solve itself, and depends on suppliers like you making the choice to be responsible and ethical purveyors. Thank you for considering how to better give your customers freedom from harmful plastics. Remember: this amount of plastic is NOT normal…we didn’t used to live this way!

09/05/2025: Sharon, the manager, recommended the açaí bowl and matcha coffee, and both were so good! The service was also amazing—everyone was really friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back!

09/05/2025: Nice offerings if your are vegan. The soup of the day was cream of cauliflower and it was fabulous. The temps were warm enough to eat outdoors. The cafe's interior is modern and the bathroom was spotless. One problem, though. Smoking is allowed outdoors and the acrid smell from cigarette smoke interfered with an otherwise wonderful experience

13/03/2025: An absolute treasure of a pub. Ben is fantastic. The entire atmosphere is so welcoming. The patrons were the most friendly people I have ever met.

26/04/2025: We happened to come upon this restaurant after the owner/chef came outside to help us with our car park. He was very nice. Then we went and ate the food and we were so impressed and delighted with the whole experience. Donna our server was amazing. I can’t recommend this place enough.

09/03/2025: Very delicious food with a wide range of options. Very accommodating and friendly staff. In terms of ambiance it's a little subdued but still lovely. Would be nice if the lights were dimmed slightly/ not as bright. That's nitpicking though, I'll definitely be back to try more on the menu the next time we're in Killarney.

16/05/2025: Exceptional value,triple rooms very spacious, beds you would just melt into,jacuzzi bath Devine tea coffee facilities on point pool and spa area very tranquil. noon check out breakfast is extra at 15 buffet style excellent value. No issues at all bar no nets on window view as soon as you open the door is a derelict building but that aside a superb hotel right in the middle of town night live is thriving just a beautiful spot and very accomadating staff

16/05/2025: Stayed here for four nights on a coach trip from the UK. The room was quiet and comfortable and the food was excellent, as were all the staff throughout the hotel. The leisure centre swimming pool was superb, and provided segregated lane swimming at the time I visited, which was appreciated. Reception were very helpful, they gave me details of a 10 mile walk from the hotel around the Muckross Lake, which encompassed many unforgettable scenic features. Would choose the Gleneagle Hotel when visiting Killarney in the future.

18/03/2025: My family and I stayed in The Gleneagle on Patrick’s weekend for a family occasion. Overall the whole experience was lovely. However, we had dinner in Fiadh on Saturday night and my Dad regrettably found a small piece of glass in his water, thankfully before he consumed it. I immediately informed a supervisor but she didn’t even come over to the table to apologise, only told a more senior restaurant manager who didn’t come over immediately either. I decided to go up for a second time to speak with someone as we all, understandably, felt a little uneasy about the situation and were awaiting more food. That, and I was surprised no one had come over still to address the table. I ended up speaking with the manager and he was apologetic but that was about it. At the end of our meal the same manager finally came over and offered to comp a bottle of wine and two meals, which was appreciated. However, my Dad’s meal wasn’t the one comped, nor did the manager even address him or ask anything further about the situation. The communication overall, given that we found glass in our meal, was far below what I expected of a four star hotel and left us all rather disappointed, as we all don’t get together too often. The rest of our experience was really great. However I’d be remiss not to mention this story to anyone thinking of staying here as the service and communication regarding the whole situation was simply that poor.
