The best restaurants in Killarney

14/11/2024: Great location 4.5 stars dot the room really. Small but has functional jacuzzi tub for one. Very relaxing sorry no pictures

13/10/2024: We were members of a tour group. The "Towers" was ideally placed close to the centre of Killarney. Our luggage was received and distributed to our various rooms to appreciable efficiency. Whilst our room did not have what could be called a "view", it was well equipped and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the bath - jacuzzi. Our first breakfast experience was equally pleasing. We went to the dining room earlier than our group was due to visit. A free day was requiring our catching a local bus service to visit friends in Dingle. The maitre de understood our plight and found us a table. His actions were very much appreciated. However on two other occasions we approached breakfast nearer the time scheduled for our sitting for breakfast. On both occasions we were confronted by a lady who somewhat shortly told us it was not our time, wait somewhere else until it arrived. We followed that instruction and on time went back to the dining area reception. There we were accepted, by another member of staff, and shown to the groups alloted tables. We were more than surprised, not to mention very disenchanted, to find other members of our group already sitting and eating their breakfasts! Was it that one member of staff just being obsessively perdantic about timings when others were more relaxed? It should be noted it appears the dining arrangements for touring parties are dealt with on a buffet style basis. The arrangement being supervised by members of staff behind the food heating lamps serving the offerings. It appears our group was allotted the last dining time slot. While no doubt members of serving staff were understandably keen to finish work, there were two occasions when the severy was poorly staffed. On the last of those the single member of staff appeared to give up, there was no one to help him. On that particular evening there were four individual containers - gravy, curry sauce, and ? None of them were labelled, I had to ask a member of the "floor walking staff" if they could identify the sauce I needed. For an establishment listed as being Four Star I really do not consider the dining arrangements we experienced warranted that number of stars.

04/11/2024: Arrived in on Saturday under the assumption that I had booked a table but unfortunately I had made an error. The place was busy but the staff were so kind and accommodating and fit us in somehow regardless which I was incredibly appreciative of. Had some of the most incredible food I’ve had in a while and the service was fast and amazing. Ended up staying on at the bar after our meal for a few hours and had some fantastic and well priced cocktails. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be coming back!

18/10/2024: It's arguably the best steak I've had in all of Ireland. Very friendly staff.

21/10/2024: Great bar beer is very good and tv outside to watch scooter and all sports while I can smoke

08/10/2024: Enjoyed a drink or 2 in here. Excellent service.

30/10/2024: A very warm welcome with a person who speaks French!!! (it helps!!). On the other hand, a regret about the sandwich bread which could have been a French baguette!!!

21/10/2024: A very lovely Café with delicious patisserie. Service was nice, quick and professional. A real treasure in Killarney

27/10/2024: We adore this place for its amazing friendliness and hospitality. We visit this pub every time we are in Killarney because my Dad was born and bred in Killarney and this seems to be the place where the older locals go to for a pint 🍺.

24/10/2024: McSweeney Arms Hotel has quickly become my favorite place to stay when I'm in Killarney. Excellent location and friendly staff are the peak of Irish hospitality, and the Bed & Breakfast deal is not to be missed.

20/10/2024: We dined at Harrow while on a tour of Ireland. Once of the best restaurant meals I’ve ever enjoyed! Creative preparations and incredible flavors.

14/10/2024: Lamb Wellington was very dry and not nice considering it is €39!! Service very slow also on a Saturday night.

13/09/2024: Old hotel not renovated, forgotten in time, the rooms very poorly insulated, you can hear the corridors, people talking in other rooms, you can hear other people's showers. In short, an old hotel for old people, even the restaurant for breakfast is old. It doesn't deserve 4 stars or the 225€ for the night. I advise you against it.

12/09/2024: Great place, mouthwatering food, attentive service! 👌 Strongly recommended! Went as a family with two teenage daughters. And my ladies are the harshest of critics! Verdicts - will be back soon. Paraphrasing ad of one of the famous beer - “Probably the best roast in Ireland” If the ribs are on the menu - just get them!!!

28/10/2024: Beautiful spot, great food. The DJ (Steve?) really added to the atmosphere. Mushroom side dish was the nicest. Cosy on a wet day!

27/10/2024: Food is ok. Hummus with tortilla was not that great. Authentic pita would have been better for 7 euros. Fish and chips were really good and fresh. Truffle pizza was too much cheese and soggy base. Service and atmosphere was fab. But they could add more vegetarian options .

28/09/2024: This was a great spot for a birthday afternoon tea! The location made it a perfect fit in our day of exploring Muckross house and farm. The sandwiches were decent (and generously portioned) and the desserts and scones were outstanding. The tea itself was exceptional! I am tea aficionado and the blends here were first-rate. They also give you control over the steeping process complete with hourglass timer. Both the service and the lounge itself adopts a modern, cosy while still elegant approach to afternoon tea that made the experience a nice break in the middle of a busy day.

31/08/2024: Delicious food and drinks. We had lunch here right before we checked out of the Muckross Hotel and Spa. Wonderful service and atmosphere.

28/09/2024: Been there a few times lately with an overseas guest and would honestly be pushed too find a better place to get a meal. Very reasonably priced, huge portions of delicious food and speedy service. Highly recommended
