Very reasonably priced in comparison to others. We opted for a series of plates from the tapas menu and we're delighted with the quality and quantity!! Quite large portions.
The staff were fantastic - couldn't ask for more!

The Shire, menu

04/04/2024: Went with a group of seven, and ordered some coffee, tea, chips and sausages after waiting for around 5-10 minutes to be attended. It took another 10 minutes to get the chips, sausages and 2 cappuccinos, but after waiting more than 15 minutes more, the rest of the order never arrived. So we cancelled it and paid what we got. It was a shame because the place and the food was nice.
01/04/2024: Great restaurant in this quaint town. Food was very delicious and service was quick and courteous. Loved the old vibe.

Unfortunately we were served by the only unfriendly waitress in the place:
- she was cold and needs to quickly learn that a smile will not deform her face and that it can go a long way.
- she was unprofessional: she had not wanted to book us in 2 hours before we arrived and then was annoyed to have to find a table for us, as the restaurant had got busy and we were 5!
- she was rude all along the service: she did not want us there, so she was very expeditive.
If she likes her job, she should learn to behave like her colleagues who were courteous and helpful. Good luck to her!

29/03/2024: Staff, nice and good atmosphere. Burgers were soggy due to the amount of vegetables, and meat was too salty for my liking. Chips had nice crunch but disappointingly were luke warm.

05/02/2024: Unreal food and staff was unmatched. Went there on a matchday on a bank holiday weekend so the place was busy and the staff was super friendly and was always there to check if everything was ok. We had a gorgeous fish and chips and a delicious steak sandwich. We shared both plates so my partner and I could try both and we every bite was a “wow”. We also had the lava cake with honeycomb ice cream for dessert and it was the cherry on top. We spent €58 for a steak sandwich, a fish and chips, the dessert, one guinness and one heineken 0.0%
04/02/2024: Don't come here if you want good food. We ordered a mest feast pizza and 3 salmon sandwiches. The pizza was undercooked, with a tasteless dough and little flavor. The sandwiches weren't bad, but nothing out of this world either. They have vegetarian options.
On the other hand, if what you want are drinks and live music, it is a pretty good place with an atmosphere that is worth it.
Overall, we had a good night at Scott's bar & courtyard but it was because of the band playing live and the atmosphere that day (a couple of birthdays). Depending on what you are looking for, it may be recommended.

Iced Mocha was hit.
Walking around city and looking for a cafe, this place was perfect for warming up.
