The best restaurants in Killarney

17/03/2026: I recently stayed at Randles Hotel in Killarney and overall had a good experience. The hotel itself is lovely, with convenient parking which made our stay much easier. Our room was nice, although it was a bit cold at times. On the positive side, the bathroom was beautiful and very well maintained. A special mention goes to Justin at reception, who was absolutely amazing. He was so kind, welcoming, and went out of his way to help us sort everything out he really made a difference to our stay. Unfortunately, our experience at breakfast was not as pleasant. Aziz, who was working there, seemed quite stressed and made us feel a bit unwelcome. On top of that, we were overcharged for breakfast and had to go to reception ourselves to resolve the issue, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, it’s a good hotel with great facilities and some excellent staff, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the breakfast service.

08/03/2026: Upon entering the hotel, I initially thought: okay, maybe it will actually be quite nice. The lobby smelled pleasantly of the aroma diffuser, and for a brief moment, I was truly hopeful. But this good first impression was unfortunately shattered extremely quickly. The first room we were given was simply a disaster. It was completely dark, dirty, had stains on the carpet, and the view outside was just depressing. Honestly, I immediately felt like I'd landed in some run-down, neglected dive, not a supposedly four-star hotel. At least the receptionist was friendly enough to offer us another room, and that one was somewhat better. The second room also had plenty of unacceptable issues. The bedsheets had yellow stains, which was truly disgusting. The furniture is ancient and looks completely worn out. On top of that, there wasn't even a refrigerator or a safe in the room. For a hotel that claims to be four stars, this is simply embarrassing. The only positive thing I can say is that the bathroom was modern. That was actually the best thing about the whole room, and unfortunately, almost the only positive thing. Breakfast was another disappointment. Truly awful. I can only advise everyone: do not book this hotel with breakfast included; it's absolutely not worth it. Everything seemed cheap, uninspired, and as if they were cutting corners on every single detail. It simply had nothing to do with a pleasant hotel breakfast, but rather with the feeling that they wanted to spend as little as possible on the guest. On top of that, both the hotel in general and our room were extremely dusty. Honestly, this hotel doesn't deserve four stars. You can put the nicest-smelling perfumes in the lobby all you want, but if the rest is so disappointing, it doesn't matter. A modern bathroom alone can't save a dirty, dusty room with stained sheets, old furniture, and a breakfast you'd rather forget. For me, the whole experience was a huge disappointment, and I definitely wouldn't come back.

05/01/2026: As a local, this is my favourite coffee. No mocha in all of Ireland compares for me. The staff are always so friendly, they know my order when I arrive and always so nice to my dog who is addicted to their treats.

14/09/2025: Such a handy little drive thru especially in the rain. Coffee was so tasty and possibly one of the nicest chocolate croissants I've ever had.

07/08/2025: Arrived at 1:15 and had the place to ourselves. Best oysters we have had in Ireland, and that's high praise. Food was delicious, our server, John, was excellent, and cannot recommend highly enough.

05/08/2025: Absolutely terrific service and fabulous food. Good value too. Don't miss a meal here when visiting Killarney. The fish is first class and so fresh.

16/12/2025: We took a short break to the Killarney Towers for a Christmas shopping break. The hotel was perfect for our needs being in such a central location. Considering this is right in the centre of one of the most popular tourist towns in the country and has a leisure center, it was incredible value for money. Breakfast was perfect, and all the staff were lovely. A special mention to Anna in the leisure center who made a extra effort to encourage our 3yr old daughter, who was afraid to get in the water to start swimming.

11/12/2025: The hotel killarney is lovely and clean rooms are excellent bed is love and comfortable the swimming pool could be a bit warmer for the winder time of year and perfect summer month service was great good breakfast is good staff are lovely to deal with

12/06/2025: Nice atmosphere and a small selection of house beers. Unfortunately, not all of them were tasty, as we're used to better ones in Germany. Still, it's worth a visit and trying a few. It's best to order 3 or 6 flights to try the different beers. You'll then receive 3 or 6 1/3 pints of your choice, respectively, for either €8 or €16.

12/02/2026: Got a gorgeous steak sandwich and my partner got the roast lamb, we were stunned at the amazing standard of this place! The new look creates an inviting atmosphere and the staff were the cherry on the cake. We were served by the lovely Muireann and Grainne who really gave us top class service! Couldn’t recommend this place more, I will definitely be returning

24/12/2025: We were a group of 8 family members, and we ordered both the main course and desserts. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this place, and if we plan any lunch or dinner in the future, this will definitely be our go-to spot.

23/11/2025: Such an amazing hostel. The staff are wonderful. Extremely friendly, kind, warm and really welcoming. They are very informative and happy to help out with recommendations for things around Killarney and helping out with how to make the most out of your stay. The hostel itself is cozy, clean and spacious. Rooms have curtains and lockers (bring your own lock), mattresses are thick and comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and food storage including both and oven,double burner stove top cabinets utensils and two fridges. The hostel has 4 pet dogs that roam around the bottom floors and are very sweet. The hostel is truly a great stay. 10/10 recommend and would absolutely return.

19/11/2025: It's a friendly place, I loved how much open area they had for guests to get comfortable in (inside amd outside) the dogs and chickens were a nice touch. We had issues with our bedroom door and the main door not being locked at night, it's a cute but older spot so very creaky.

17/03/2026: Overcrowded, hot, you wait eternity to find a space to place order at the bar. Unfortunately, I had to escape out to breathe normally.

15/03/2026: Poor young lad behind the bar was working alone, he picked up the confidence to ask for help, only to be screamed at by what I presume is a Supervisor or Manager - The woman just started screaming at him in front of customers for simply asking for help serving the bar and collecting glasses, poor kid

21/02/2026: Its hard where to begin with my review.This hotel is definitely a 3 star hotel.In need of major refurbishment.Carpet in bedroom heavy stained.Toilet seat and shower door broken...maintenance came and sorted it,to be fair.Breakfast room very cold..no charcter,old tables with markings on them.Rang before we arrived to tell about allegens and intolarances but not alot of variety was offered. Staff were pleasant but not over friendly...very matter of fact...However Eamonn the barman was an exception.Point of fact they charge you on arrival and whatever you have within the hotel is not put on the card...you pay directly for foods and drinks.The breakfast is buffet...you help yourself with everything...even to making your own beverages and toasting your bread...little things that make a difference in service.I could go on and I will say this is relevant to me.The exterior is not great but the car parking is good.All in all We wont be returning.
