14/04/2026: Good food, accommodating staff.

13/04/2026: Had a lovely lunch here. We were a bigger group so maybe a little tricky with the order side of things, but we were greeting with such warmth. The gentlemen behind the bar making coffees etc were so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing- I had the wings as a main and they were so lovely and different to any I’d had before.

30/03/2026: Great food but the manager held me down and put me in the fryer.

24/03/2026: The worst mc Donald’s I have ever been to each member of staff going around with not a care in the world s d by the looks of them they definitely don’t know what there doing. Food took ages then when it did come it was all burnt to shit

20/04/2026: This place deserves to be 5 stars! Went recently to the sit down side with my wife. Previously had the takeaway and always found the chips high quality. They recently have renovated the interior and can see they spent a lot on it! It’s clean, modern and has a great atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and food was served promptly and hot. Our meal was reasonably priced, well portioned and fresh quality ingredients. The only negative I can think of is that the food needed more seasoning. Anyone used of highly salted takeaways might think the food is on the bland side - be prepared to add your own salt! Overall I was very happy and would recommend. Bonus points for having a Guinness tap

19/03/2026: I'm very disappointed how Mario's have gone the garlic cheese chips was disgusting and how you can charge that much for food like that ye all should be ashamed maybe health and safety should inspectus place

31/12/2025: The service is excellent, especially thanks to Joel for his advice and help. The hotel is very, very nice. However, the value for money isn't great; it's expensive for the quality of the facilities.

17/11/2025: While the hotel is very beautiful, it feels like they rely on their historic charm over actually providing premium products. We booked our room through a third party (which may have led to some of the issues) but we did not get the room we booked. We paid for a King, but got a Full and a Single. A married couple sleeping on the full was less than spacious. The mattress was beyond hard, my spouse and I woke up with shoulder and hip pain all night. There were no outlets by the headboard to plug in electronics. The tv in the room was very small and dated. The bathroom tub wasn’t angled properly, resulting in you standing in water your entire shower. The bathroom toiletries appeared to be watered down, as they were very runny. The bathroom towels were very thin, but did the job. The hotel location was convenient, customer service was excellent, I appreciated the welcome cocktails, and the hotel was beautiful, but at the end of the day of your room is uncomfortable there’s no point in staying there.

06/04/2026: Stopped here for food. Steak sandwich was delicous steak so tender and plenty of it . Cajun Chicken wrap also delicious and plentiful. Staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend for food .

12/10/2025: Me and a friend brought our 2 small girls for afternoon tea yesterday afternoon. The room is beautifully done out. Loved the Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea. Would like more savory options, as these were very tasty and some things were overly sweet. However this is probably the way with all afternoon teas. Service was very good, waiter was very friendly.

27/07/2025: We visited this tea room with high hopes — hoping to have a lovely time and enjoy some nice desserts. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment. All the desserts were far too sweet. The cakes had a heavy buttercream, which I really didn’t enjoy. The Pavlova dessert had an overbaked, dry meringue. Overall, it just wasn’t worth the money

27/12/2025: The place was nicely decorated inside and clean looking. Service was nice. There was a guy behind the counter I think he might have been a manger or owner and he was lovely and kind of had a good vibe with other staff, which I appreciate. The food was very mediocre. I got an iced coffee which was ok. Kids got hot chocolates, which were average and a bit watery. The biggest let down was the wafer. In a place like that I would expect a freshly made wafer (esp.for €9), this was a hard store bought wafer heated in a microwave, no doubt. And even at that I don't think it was a good quality store-bought one. They sell the exact same ones in Lidl. We also got a cookie which was fine, but no fireworks. Paid €27 for a coffee, two hot chocs, cookie and wafer. Not a robbery and if the quality was good I would have thought it was an ok value. But it all tasted cheap and like if no effort was put in it. Overally, would not return.

22/12/2025: best coffe shop in my opinion. whote mocha has a strong coffee taste while being creamy and a little sweet. muffins and and toasts are superb ❤️❤️

22/03/2026: My god, this place was utterly terrifying and disgusting. I was here in kilkenny stopping down after a long trip from clare. I was staying at a b&b and was craving a cheeky chipper. I seen this place while in a taxi while heading off into town. I came back to joes around 9:30 pm. First thing was that i said hello and got no but response. I asked for bag of chips and a 1/4 pounder. the staff were very moody for some reason but i couldn’t blame them cause what they were working in. the price came to around 15-20 for a medium chip and burger. Which was alright i guess. But oh my god i was waiting a solid 40 minutes for this food. After i finally got my food. Went back to the b&b and was buzzing. until i opened the chips. Every single one was burnt, Hard, or soggy and still cold. Some were okay do, but the burger. Like they didn’t even cook it. it was as bad as the smell of a badger. I didn’t eat the burger i just ate the normal chips. But i will NEVER! be going back to this place in my life if this was my last meal of my life i would say no and just kill me already. Do not come here. Unless if you live like a knacker.

14/03/2026: Only good thing about the chipper was the atmosphere cos JR was rolling a few up outside. Me and Shkippy shared a pizza. There were 3 dead mice on top of the pizza.

13/11/2025: Can not go wrong with this family run restaurant and chipper, always excellent grub and great service. It's a popular regular with my friends and family.

09/03/2026: Second time here n I really like the atmosphere. The barmaid smiling and welcoming. Enjoyed sitting upstairs where it was quiet and chilled. Downstairs is much more bustling which I like too. Will revisit more in the future

09/03/2026: Don't do food but over all everything in the place is good no problems what so ever lovely and warm place up stairs is nice and quiet so can just chill out enjoy your pint
