18/08/2026: Nice food and very quick service

16/07/2026: Fillet beef needs to be removed from the menu. No way was it fillet. I should have known better than to believe the description. One thing is certain it's a restaurant that exaggerates it's key ingredient and nothing in the dish was freshly made. 100% curry powder. Dreadful dish.

17/08/2026: I loved the food here.. there’s just 1 staff member who is so very rude! As I loved the food when I came with my husband, I went back alone on my lunch break and this lady kept avoiding giving me the menu.. I had to leave the restaurant , the same thing happened yesterday but then another kind waiter noticed and got me the menu. If the management is interested- For lack of a better description: This server was wearing a brown shirt yesterday and is around 5 feet tall. This is not to vent, But if someone else has felt uncomfortable by this lady’s service then You are not alone.. Anyway The food is lovely and the other staff members are lovely to deal with.

05/08/2026: Really good sandwiches. Great presentation, creative flavors, and generous portions. Reasonable price. The espresso was good too. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

22/05/2026: Great bar. I really like this place. It caters for all age groups easily. Lovely area out the back. Great pint, great service and staff. They cater for all sports fans but it's not consuming the atmosphere.

11/08/2026: Staff didn't bother with us. From the moment we stepped into the building until we left. Multiple times we asked for menus and were treated like we were a nuisance. So we left and got food down the street instead.

01/08/2026: We had the Day 2 celebrations of our wedding at Bridies in July 2026. I dealt with Aoghan for the booking and it was easy to organize, responses were so quick and detailed. It only took a few emails to get everything finalized and it was such an easy process. I live in New York so I booked the space through pictures and reviews alone but when I was home for a trip I went to Kilkenny and tried to get a look at the space, unfortunately it was closed but I spoke with staff at Langtons who very nicely opened the space and let me have a look around, they really go above and beyond. On the day of our event the staff couldn’t have been nicer, Mikey, Sean, John and Ian were all amazing and so helpful. They altered the food schedule based on the number of guests we had as people arrived a little later than expected, it was a nice touch that they held off some food until more guests arrived. They helped set up the space needed for the band and also allowed us to connect to their system and play our own Spotify playlist until the band were ready to go. I couldn’t have picked a better spot and I would highly recommend if you need a space for a large group. 10/10

13/08/2026: This afternoon tea was not a good experience. This was not at all the product advertised online, on Google or on the Langton website. What a disappointment, and a waste of money. We were first accommodated on the terrasse, which was noisy (loud music) and not well-kept. Being too hot, we migrated inside. The place was untidy, with one table still covered in the remains of previous customers. We were served triangle sandwiches, which seemed weird but an afternoon tea comprising sandwiches we didn’t question it, to have them removed from us a few minutes later because they were not intended for us. What became of our nibbled sandwiches I don’t want to know, for I’m not sure the waiter went back in the kitchen… The sandwiches we received were the tiniest I ever had, and not tasty, savory and sweet for the majority of them. I wonder. Too many pastries, and not tasty, especially the macaroon. And the scone!! Cinnamon in it! The gluten-free one was inedible. Two persons asked for green tea, and the other for jasmine tea. The 2 green teas arrived and we had to ask again and again for the jasmine tea. In the end, the waitress told us they were out of stock and the person ordered a green tea instead. She received mint tea 🫩 It turned out the waitress couldn’t find green tea and we had to wait and wait yet again. We had to ask twice for whipped cream and strawberry jam, -and I’m sure we would have never received them had we not asked for them— which arrived in tiny quantity for three people. Hopefully we didn’t need them for the scones were bad. All in all, even the quality of the tea was poor. In the end, we were utterly disappointed by everything, service, environment, quality of the food. And the price! For that! What a rip off.

25/07/2026: While food and service is excellent, it will be hard to beat this place on price 😉 in this economy.

07/06/2026: A no frills pub. A typical old fashioned English pub with plenty of characters. We've been in a fair few times as a couple despite not living in Bury, and chatted to regulars no problem. The drinks prices are really reasonable. It does attract an older crowd as there are plenty of TVs with horse racing on etc. The staff have always been engaging and we've always been served quickly. Think along the lines of a Last Orders pub and you'll get ehat l mean.

08/05/2026: Great pub, football on TV, great pint of carling at a very reasonable price, barmaid was friendly & great at her job serving me straight away, I'm not from bury but everytime I come to bury will always make visit to this pub.

29/08/2026: We ordered a big meal they forgot a big dinner box, no salt and vinegar on chips so they were bland and chicken in chicken burger burnt and salad burger is just not good.

09/08/2026: Fabulous chocolatier. An experience. Small chocolatier with a few different products. Ordered a white hot chocolate with cardamom, it was so good. However my only groan is that it didn’t come with a complimentary chocolate. At €5 you’d expect it. Bought a box of 12 chocolates. Not a wide variety. Not 12 different flavours available, had to duplicate a few flavours. Another groan I’d have. Variety is the spice of life. So in total I spent €30 but no complimentary chocolate to taste. That’s devastating. Ample parking available within close proximity to the shop. Not open on Sundays.

31/12/2025: The service is excellent, especially thanks to Joel for his advice and help. The hotel is very, very nice. However, the value for money isn't great; it's expensive for the quality of the facilities.

17/11/2025: While the hotel is very beautiful, it feels like they rely on their historic charm over actually providing premium products. We booked our room through a third party (which may have led to some of the issues) but we did not get the room we booked. We paid for a King, but got a Full and a Single. A married couple sleeping on the full was less than spacious. The mattress was beyond hard, my spouse and I woke up with shoulder and hip pain all night. There were no outlets by the headboard to plug in electronics. The tv in the room was very small and dated. The bathroom tub wasn’t angled properly, resulting in you standing in water your entire shower. The bathroom toiletries appeared to be watered down, as they were very runny. The bathroom towels were very thin, but did the job. The hotel location was convenient, customer service was excellent, I appreciated the welcome cocktails, and the hotel was beautiful, but at the end of the day of your room is uncomfortable there’s no point in staying there.

13/09/2026: Had the chicken tenders today the chicken was so dry and over cooked or reheated .. the chicken curry had no chicken very disappointed as have been loads of time and food was good but I won’t be visiting again ..

18/08/2026: Disappointed with my visit to the Pantry today. I had a lovely meal at another Pantry branch last week and decided to try this location. We must have arrived after a rush as the restaurant was extremely dirty and not a single table was cleaned which is understandable however the place remained dirty for the duration of our stay. The chicken tenders came out burnt, the Caesar salad was a bowl of lettuce despite being over €12 and the BLT bread was soggy. Overall, all the meals we had felt slapped together which would be fine if the price was not so high. Despite everything the staff were very nice and the coffee was lovely. Definitely a place that has potential for improvements.

28/07/2026: Always consistently great food and service with a very relaxed atmosphere for kids. The kids always clean their plates here.
