10/11/2024: A beautiful 200 year old hotel. Free Parking at the rear. Clean rooms. Great staff. Great breakfast. Amazing location. 1min walk to the centre. Alot of stairs is the only negative.

05/10/2024: We stayed there one night. It is a prefabricated house close to the road (noise at night), however we recommend it for the proximity to Kilkenny, the included breakfast and the good treatment with the hostess. We had never been in a prefabricated house like this, very large, spacious living room with kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

03/10/2024: I’ve noticed a couple of negative reviews about kebabs etc….this place is an authentic Indian takeaway. Food is delicious.

20/09/2024: GREAT curry! Tried Chicken Rim Jhim and it was fantastic! Would definitely go back here again - a Gem of a takeout place! One of my favourite meals on my trip to Ireland.

20/12/2023: Had breakfast here 1 morning. It was fine. I had the "full Irish". I think it would have been nicer if it had been cooked to order - but everything, apart from the fried eggs, was pre cooked. But Mary was lovely.

14/10/2024: Well worth a detour to visit one of Thomastown's foodie hotspots! A lovely fusion of South African & French, I'm still working my way through their various culinary delights, so waited a while before giving a review! Their daily lunch specials are always worth a try, and as with everything else on their menu, it is all made from scratch, clearly with high quality ingredients, given the flavours they manage to achieve. The highlight for me however, has to be the exquisitely layered & flaky pastries, by far the best I've had anywhere!!..including France!!! Service is always so friendly & attentive, and Julien & Ashika are always so warm & welcoming, with a clear passion for what they do! Don't be put off by the slightly underwhelming exterior...I for one am very happy they found Thomastown!! After seeing what they turned out for a one-off Fathers Day full Lunch this year, I'm hoping that it's a case of watch this space, with even more to come from them!...No pressure guys!!! Congrats on your recent Blas na hÉireann awards too!!

20/09/2024: I don’t know what has changed but sadly the food does not reflect the price charged. No table service you must pay before ordering your food. Waiting about 15 minutes which would be fine if the food reflected the price the below picture was €11.50. No red onion as per the menu, over all I was very disappointed with the amount of feta and how it was presented and also the seeds being left in the red pepper.

20/10/2024: Popped in for food while in town, dinner was great, I got the cannelloni and it was delicious. Portion size was large, and each bite was a different experience between the cannelloni and the sauce. Highlight was definitely the desert with was an eton mess big enough for the three of us to share after a good meal.

14/10/2024: We visited yesterday and opted for a takeaway rather than eat in. Muhammad was super friendly and offered great service. We were told the food would be ready in 25 minutes and it was. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and very fresh produce used. We will definitely return when next in the area.

17/07/2024: Just been to Breathnach's, really lovely food, got a very nice greeting off a lovely young lady called Greta, she was very helpful and accommodating with our food, the pub was really airy and bright with very comfortable seats, this definitely won't be our last time visiting, next time we're in Kilkenny it will be a must! 10/10 for friendliness, cleanliness, comfort & excellent food! 😊👌💯

02/06/2024: Went in before and after the U'20 all Ireland final on 01-Jun-24. Great room to cope with the large crowd, food was excellent and the pint of Guinness was delightful. Staff deserve a special mention for the quick service and warm welcome for all supporters. Thanks, we'll be back.
