The best restaurants in Leitrim

30/11/2024: We really enjoyed our visit to Carrick and the Oarsman. The atmosphere downstairs was vibrant with lots of punters enjoying their weekend. We ate upstairs and it had the added bonus of a very talented gentleman playing an acoustic guitar. He played a wide range of instrumental tunes subtly in the background that had my foot tapping away during the meal. The staff were really friendly and on top of their game. Service was fast and they knew exactly who ordered what. Their home breads were delicious and so were all our starters, mains and desserts. The choice of wine and beer will suit all taste buds. Overall this is a really good gastro pub on top of its game and worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood. We were a group of 8 and all of use said that we would be back. There was a group of 30, a number of couples and ourselves upstairs and everyone had a smile on their face and enjoying themselves. We are nearly an hour's drive from Carrick but it's worth the trip. Keep up the good work team Oarsman 👍

30/11/2024: We just had a brilliant time here last night. The menu was inventive, the food was delicious, and the fella playing the guitar was a gem.

30/11/2024: I went here with 3 of my friends for my 18th and it was exceptional! The service was probably the best I've ever gotten- and I'm saying that as a server! The girls were so friendly and chatty, made sure we felt welcome. Food was absolutely delicious, very big portions. I would highly recommend

09/11/2024: Lovely restaurant with great food. We particularly loved the shared platter. The hot wings were definitely spicy but super delicious.

08/12/2024: We've tried for a while to try get in here and got lucky this visit to carrick, the food was divine! Garlic cheese bread is out if the world 😛ill be back did that alone 😁we all had lasagne with salad and chips, there was a christening party on at the time we were there so it was quite slow service wise, staff were lovely well def be back

11/11/2024: As a walk in group of 4 we were just in time to get a table as it was a Saturday night. Any later than 6pm and I doubt we would have been successful. Service was very good by all the staff who looked after us. We ordered 3 pizzas and the salmon teriyaki. Pizzas were very good, but the salmon was the highlight.

02/12/2024: One of my favourite take away pizza in Mohill. My pizzas came piping hot and they were delivered very fast, earlier than expected which is great! Staff are always very nice on the phone and the shop is loyal to regular customers. Will definitely order again.

15/11/2024: Lovely family ran business hidden within the heart of carrick on shannon. sandwiches are killer, proper salad + crisps + toastie combination. would recommend to anyone who wants a bit of character and soul, great value and great craic❤️

08/11/2024: You have to catch this place at the right time of day, as indoor seating is limited. I have tried just about every cafe in Carrick, and this one is a great find. The food is tasty az. I will definitely revisit (not in peak hours though)

24/10/2024: Stayed for one night as a stop over on the motorbikes. Lovely bar area with a fantastic outdoor beer garden. Food was outstanding and well priced. Derek greeted us on arrival and asked if we would like to park our motorbikes in the secure back yard. Bar was busy and had live entertainment on the Saturday evening. The rooms were clean and tidy. Would definitely return and recommend.

05/12/2024: Easy to find location, good access, good facilities, good food and friendly staff especially Jo. She was very genuine, friendly and looked after us well. Offered upgrade without extra fees. Would highly recommend if in the area. Would stay there again.

22/11/2024: Really friendly and helpful staff, good tasty and reasonably priced food in a comfortable and well designed bistro restaurant in the Main Street of the town. We were made welcome and seated quickly on a freezing cold night in this warm and cosy restaurant. The food arrived quickly and was well cooked and there was super attention to ensuring it was gluten free for one our party.

06/10/2024: This was a cosy, intimate restaurant which was perfect for a family dinner, couples dinner, a bite to eat, or a staff dinner! The service was fantastic from start to finish- very attentive and friendly staff! The food was amazing. For starters, we had the zucchini and focaccia- both were seasoned exceptionally and extremely hot. For mains, we had the prawns & chorizo pil pil and the rib eye steak. The flavours from the pil pil were unreal- a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfactory meal. The rib eye was cooked to liking, was tender and juicy- chips were also lovely. Peppercorn sauce was a beautiful addition . For dessert, we shared the chocolate mousse tart. It was extremely chocolately and a great dessert to share- however it wasn’t as mousse like as we anticipated. Only downfalls- the focaccia was slightly burnt (not an issue for us as it was beautifully seasoned & hot) and there was limited non-alcoholic beverages (again a minor thing).

20/10/2024: It’s a long time since I had eaten here and I was hoping the food was as good as I remembered….we weren’t disappointed! The service was great - quick and friendly - and the menu had some good choices and a wide variety. Would recommend the homemade chicken curry and spaghetti bolognese in particular! I’m pleased that Cryan’s has maintained its high quality over many years and will be definitely going back there again when we next visit!

04/10/2024: I love this place - great location on the Shannon, the best staff, great sized rooms, and Cryans traditional pub out the back is full of character, with Trad music every week. Every time we visit the Republic (at least once a year), we stay here.

09/11/2024: Stopped for a meal on the way home. It was our first visit and we will become regulars for sure. Very warm and welcoming pub with homely food, great atmosphere. Picked the special of the day, which was grilled pork steak and it was absolutely delicious. Guinness the best in Leitrim so far. Staff very accommodating and attentive. Great spot!

28/10/2024: Really great pub! The food was great, we tried the fish, burgers, panini, curry, lasagne and kids nuggets. The staff are friendly, happy people and the atmosphere is awesome. We liked it so much we went back the next night to experience it again before we left Ireland the next day. A must if you're travelling around Leitrim!

20/11/2024: Coffee is overpriced and nothing special at all, you'll usually have a bad stomach after it and the food passable. No value for money and the staff can be rude at times. I'm a local but seldom visit here.

03/11/2024: The coffee is excellent and food really good too, great vegetarian and vegan selections. I had the veggie breakfast bap and it was delicious!
