26/09/2025: Ordered 8 Pieces of Chicken and chips for the kids and Specifically asked for no drumsticks (got an eye roll from the lady) . Got back to the house with the chicken and there was only 7 pieces of chicken in total and three of those were drumsticks. Only half of each piece was coated and none of it was crunchy.

12/08/2025: During a super busy breakfast rush I brought in my Elderly Mother after the Blessing Of The Graves, What i witnessed was the worst I ever experienced or saw in a restaurant all my life. Filthy, dangerous, and run by the rudest owner I’ve ever met. I stood there watching the chef hack up raw meat right beside fresh veg on the same board NO cleaning at all. That’s how people end up with food poisoning. The owner with black hair was just as bad rude, cold, and made me feel like I was a nuisance for even being there. I genuinely felt sorry for the young waiters, who looked overworked, stressed, and scared to make a mistake. Between the disgusting food handling, the toxic attitude, and the awful atmosphere, this place should be shut down.

03/10/2025: I just want to say a huge thank you to Carmen and her staff in the Ivy Restaurant in Dunboyne castle for our lovely Retirement lunch today. We were a large group of 24 people and the staff were so attentive to us and catered for all our needs. The lovely gesture of the gorgeous desert you gave to our Retiree was so thoughtful. We appreciated everything and really enjoyed the afternoon Thank you so much Jean Gallagher

11/11/2025: Food is good, service for take away ok but service in the restaurant very poor, it has change a lot in the years, waitress wasn't friendly at all and a bit rude explaining about the dishes. I wouldn't go in the restaurant for dinner.

11/01/2026: Ordered off the street, sweet n sour pork and chicken in black bean sauce. Got ribs and chilli in the black bean sauce. A disaster, will not be there again.

29/11/2025: Definitely the very last time I will ever order from Superchef Ashbourne. Local resident and we have tried all takeaways many times. Superchef is the ONLY restaurant to consistently overcharge. (Or they still have old menus in their takeaway from years ago). I am always overcharged. And I mean always. Special fried rice on the menu is 7.20. I was charged 8.40? Breast of chicken curry with chips listed at 7.20. Last week I was charged 8.00. Chicken fried rice listed at 6.50. I was charged 7.20. Thai chicken curry with fried rice listed at 7.30. I was charged 8.50. Spring rolls listed at 3.20. I was charged 4.20. Asked staff in shop, told menu prices were old? It's been like this for years. To make matters worse, got a chicken fried rice recently, got home, opened container, it was only about 80% full. Wasn't worth going back. Never again. Such a rip off. 'Best Chinese' (next door) is better, or Eatzen takeaway is amazing. Either update your menu with actual pricing, or charge people what is advertised on your menu. It would also help if your staff learned how to smile at customers, so unfriendly and borderline rude at times. Chefs are really nice and even say hello sometimes. The older (tall) lady at the counter needs a personality transplant, she is always grumpy and has zero customer service. Must be related, because no way she gets a job there with that attitude. Needs a lot of improvement. Not for me anymore.

11/01/2026: I ordered duck satay without mushrooms, and it came with mushrooms! I came from Athboy specifically, and when I got home, I found it had mushrooms. The noodles were hard, as if undercooked. I'm upset because I won't be able to eat dinner. I don't recommend it!

08/02/2026: Used to be my local, now ruined by new owners, the live music is obnoxiously loud. Used to be a decent local to chat with your mates, can’t hear a thing after live music is one, place had gone to the dogs
