The best restaurants in Waterford

15/09/2026: No insude tables available when we were there so had to sit outside. They did put the heaters on for us so we were warm enough.

06/09/2026: Place was ok, maybe a bit chaotic. The cheese plate we ordered as starter was good, but the medium-rare filleto was mostly grey inside.

17/09/2026: In town overnight, called into McLeary’s looking for a table for 2 without a reservation, no availability but was kindly told they’d have one in 20 mins. A brief walk by the river and we were back and table ready as promised. Staff were excellent, menu was extensive, food was excellent and atmosphere was cosy and jolly. Price was easily justified by the quality and service - I’d highly recommend and will be back if I’m in town again! 10 / 10

13/09/2026: There were 3 of us in McLeary’s for dinner and we all really enjoyed it. The food was excellent, especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also had a few cocktails and they were really good. The staff were friendly and the service was great without feeling rushed. Nice atmosphere as well, very relaxed and easy going. Would definitely go back again next time we’re in Waterford.

29/08/2026: Phenomenal homemade bread, pastries and good coffee! Huge satisfying sandwiches and a great vegetarian and meat selection.

22/08/2026: We walked past Berkana when we first arrived in Waterford and noticed the sandwiches that people were eating on the patio. On our way back, we stopped for a late lunch and ordered 2 sandwiches…. The turkey special and the parm ham special. The white bread had a soft crumb and a crispy crust. An amazing masterpiece! We also had a homemade apple/raspberry tart… perfection! We chatted with the owner and came to realize that she and her partner bake and create all the breads, pastries and treats themselves! On our way out she gave us a lovely pastry. Try this cute little sandwich/salad, coffee and pastry shop…. You’ll be glad you did!

08/09/2026: On a fresh morning with a light breeze and the sun shining - bless Quick ferry across - takes less than 20 minutes - very cheap looked like the kids went free - very enjoyable in the lovely morning it was.

02/09/2026: Took this ferry just to experience it, it’s only a 10 min journey then it’s stunning coastal views for the drive.

04/09/2026: Top notch. Great restaurant. Menu changes regularly. Food is always interesting and great for vegetarians too.

05/09/2026: We first met in 2013 when we met in Ireland. We came to Waterford for a trip and our dinner at Emilianos really made an impression on us. Now, 13 years later, we returned for our honeymoon and our chosen restaurant couldn't have been anywhere else. Magnificent food, wonderful pasta and sauce, Luca's service was perfect, truly Italian, he was super attentive and fun. We hope to return many more times 🇮🇪🍝🥰

05/09/2026: We were lured in with a advertisement of a full irish for 10 euros, it soon changed when tea and coffee were not included in price of breakfast ,breakfast arrived and everything seemed deep fried with mushrooms inedible too.Eggs were raw also and most of the breakfast was left behind .Service was amazing but quality of food wasn't there

08/09/2026: The most equisite meal we have ever had. Everything perfection. Still in awe at the standard. We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and this was literally the perfect meal. Make it your mission to dine here.

05/09/2026: We went to celebrate a special occasion and the restaurant did not disappoint in any way! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with sourdough and brown grain bread; they had a set menu that I highly recommend! Let's start with the starters: we chose the croquette with tomatoes (veg), I can't put it into words, creamy, flavorful, and comforting, wonderful 10/10. For the main course, we ordered the beef, which came at exactly the temperature we chose, and my husband was very happy with his choice. I asked for the vegetarian option, which wasn't on the menu; I asked the waiter, and that night we were served spinach tortellini with zucchini and shallots – an incredible mix of flavors! For dessert, I ordered a raspberry soufflé with pistachio ice cream, and my husband went for chocolate mousse. I think it's important to mention that the portions aren't absurdly large, but they are very filling! We ordered carrot sides, which are great for sharing. We couldn't finish everything, unfortunately, but it was very good. It was our first time there, and it was amazing. The wine list is very diverse and extremely affordable. I highly recommend going there!

09/09/2026: Really good spot for a nice Breakfast/brunch/ lunch. The food is fresh, tasty and priced reasonably. The staff are very friendly and its a pet friendly place. The coffee is amazing, the flat white and the cappuccino was so creamy. We had the “Meat Ball Hero” and “Roast Chicken & Chorizo “ it was divine. They do close at 3pm so u better go early 😉

05/08/2026: Amazing place to visit. The food was amazing and the portions were huge. So visit when hungry, the atmosphere of the pub was great lots of friendly people to have a chat to. You go there and make so many friends that were previously strangers.

16/08/2026: Absolutely loved the pizza here! We were told it's the best pizza in the world and after having tried it, can arrest to the fact. Best I've ever had! Wish they had more options of pizzas, I would get them all.

09/08/2026: It was my first time to visit Poquito and it was a lovely experience. The girl who took our order was very friendly and chatty. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back
