The best restaurants in Waterford

30/03/2026: We went to this restaurant for dinner as it was closer to our hotel. It ended up being one of the most memorable night in Ireland, or actually, ever. We've never been treated like a long lost family from total strangers. Melisa, his wife Martha, and the son, Christian were unbelievable people. If this is the Irish spirits then wow, count me in! Melissa was so warm, chatty, friendly to go along with fantastic food!! He came to sit and chatted for a bit. As good as the food and drinks were, the hospitality and the way they make you feel is 10x better! If you ever come near Waterford, you must come visit the Grattans, and hang out with your new found family!! We even got a pic behind the bar with them. We'll be back for sure! If I could give 10 stars for service and friendliness, I would.

23/02/2026: Omg this place is absolutely beautiful. I went for my 50th birthday and it was fabulous. I had wings and the burger. The wine was fabulous and we had a cocktail after. My hubbie had the croquettes and burger which he loved so did my son. My other fussy son had spag bol. He licked the plate clean. We were served by the lovely Rinelle (hope I got the spelling right) she was an absolutely fabulous lady and brilliant at her job. They brought me out ice cream and sang happy birthday to me. 10 out of 10 this place is. Highly recommended. Thank you Rinelle for making my birthday so fantastic

17/04/2026: This is a great little restaurant with a super selection of meat and seafood and a kids menu. The Seafood pie was outstanding.

22/03/2026: We had a family gathering for Trish's "significant" birthday last Friday. What a brilliant night! The setting, the atmosphere, the service, the food...all top class. We had three children with us (ages 5 & 7) and Kamila made a special fuss over them making them feel very much at home and generating a very happy atmosphere around the table. A visit to this fabulous restaurant is always a treat but Friday night was extra special. Míle buíochas mór from all the Kavanaghs!

21/03/2026: This is honestly the best service I’ve seen in Ireland in my 20 years working in gastronomy. The two ladies working here are incredible — they’re worth a million to this bar, and they’re what truly make it special. First of all, they’re beautiful, professional, and incredibly well-organized. Together, they complement every aspect of this place perfectly. Everyone here feels happy and well taken care of. The highest respect for the service here — and of course, the food is top-level too, from traditional Irish dishes to a mix of international cuisine. Personally, this is my favorite bar so far.

15/03/2026: It was very busy, but despite this we were seated in a few minutes, served quickly and checked in on regularly! The food was fabulous, it's a lovely pub too!

21/11/2025: I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast experience at The Olive Cafe located in Waterford City, I ordered their Eggs Benedict, and it was truly wonderful. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked,Not only was the food outstanding, but the overall experience was also exceptional. The service was prompt and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cafe's cozy ambiance added to the enjoyment of the meal.

04/04/2026: I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel and its all due to the fact of being of colour. From the start, the service felt disorganized and unprofessional. Being required to book meals through reception for a hotel of this supposed standard was already inconvenient, and the process itself was handled poorly. When I tried to book dinner, I was initially told my preferred time wasn’t available, which is understandable. However, after agreeing to a later time, the staff seemed unsure and disorganized about whether we could even be accommodated and only then decided to ask. The situation only got worse at the restaurant. We waited over an hour before our order was even acknowledged, and the explanation we received didn’t feel genuine. Meanwhile, other guests who arrived after us were served much sooner, which added to the frustration. On top of the service issues, finding mold in the hotel was completely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be of high quality. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend staying here based on the level of service, organization, and cleanliness.
