13/03/2025: Unfortunately, this café does not seem to understand what an espresso macchiato truly is. The owner himself prepared what was essentially a cappuccino with chocolate on top, insisting it was a macchiato. When I kindly requested a proper macchiato—two short shots of espresso with a thin layer of foam—he instead served a large espresso filled with MILK and foam. He also mumbled something behind me—... .While the location is great, the customer experience was disappointing. The feeling /experience is like in a global café shop chain than a true local spot. For an authentic local café experience and a proper espresso or macchiato, I highly recommend The Arch, just 50 meters away.

31/05/2025: Martin was very welcoming at front of house, and it’s always nice to see a familiar face. The setting is lovely, with a local art exhibition all over the various rooms, and we had a nice private corner. Service was attentive and friendly, but the food is overrated. My curry was unpleasantly spicy and could barely eat half of it, and my friend commented on his flavourless starter. The thing that bugged me most was on the bill at the end, two different VAT rates were added to our bill. I’ve never encountered this in any other restaurant in Ireland, so the advertised prices outside are not what you’ll actually pay (usually VAT is built into the cost). The drinks were probably the nicest part of the meal, which we had served in one of the lovely cubby holes in the bar area. I think it’s unwise having a curry on a menu when there is an Indian restaurant down the road who will never be outdone.

04/05/2025: Great food,no wonder why the fish was next to me when I was eating the egg nigiri.You had to press buttons if you want to order,get the bill or just have water. Overall it’s a brilliant place.

04/05/2025: Gary really enjoyed his time at all you can eat in Shiki Waterford. He’s currently in a food coma at the minute because he dident realise that you have to pay for the food you don’t eat. Great food and friendly staff would recommend !

05/05/2025: I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but the service lately has been absolutely terrible. The last two times I ordered, they were extremely inefficient. The first time, I waited over 2 full hours for a pizza. Not to mention that it was burned, the second time they claimed the delivery guy called but I didn’t answer, but could he not make the effort to knock on the door like any normal delivery person? when we called to ask what happened 1 hour later, the staff was completely ignorant and rude. I will never order again.

09/05/2025: My husband ordered chowder, which he loved, and I ordered the "open crab" which was a bowl of fresh crab meat with a side salad and bread. It was delicious. Service was quick and helpful. Staff kept checking to see if we needed anything. It's a small place, so you may have to wait for a table, but I would wait for a chance to have that crab again.

20/04/2025: Welcoming bar in a central location. Sometimes it is cold int there, a bit noisy , due to the construction, maybe. The drinks are expensive and they won't provide tap water when requested. That was particularly surpising being in a group of 5, having two rounds of drinks, and buying food. Stingy given the pricing.

19/03/2025: Ate here twice over my weekend in Waterford and both nights were amazing - the food was so tasty and generous portions (we had to leave some behind sadly) Staff were so kind, attentive and accommodating - The second night i just wanted a starter and hadn't booked a table and they still made sure to fit me in to sit down and eat before the next booking arriving. Excellent value for money here too - overall i would HIGHLY recommend this place and i will definitely be back next time i'm on a trip to Waterford - thanks so much for a lovely experience :)

02/03/2025: If I could give 10 stars I would have done it. We loved it. 1. The place was fully booked, lucky us there was a cancellation so we could get a table. 2. The glass of red wine was 5.50 euros, I never had a glass of wine for 5.50 in Ireland. A reasonable price. 3. The food is fresh, delicious, big portions, yummy, and good-looking. 4. The prices are okay, it doesn’t force your budget. 5. Lovely, nice, talkable and friendly staff. 6. The restaurant is in the center of Waterford, with easy access.

01/11/2024: Absolutely wonderful lunch. Struggle to find local fresh oysters and the woodstown oysters were incredible! Washed down with a delicious bottle of picpoul. Bliss! Can’t wait to come back in the spring when the restaurant is back open!

07/05/2025: Love Harley’s if it’s breakfast for a full Irish , lunch for chicken and chorizo pasta , something sweet like their daily homemade scones (pear and white chocolate is my fave - you just can’t go wrong Spotless is the only worth to describe the cleanliness of The place and the bathrooms well you could eat your food Off the floor Staff always so friendly and excellent Value for money Capuchinos and sourdough bread are to die for
