The best restaurants in Waterford

30/08/2025: Coffee is not up to the standard that it should be. I only ever go to insomnia when I’m in a new place because I know that coffee in insomnia is the best and everywhere else I go it’s really good. This place has a good vibe, lovely staff but coffee was definitely not up to standard. I even asked for a remake and it was the same poor flavour of coffee. It is upsetting especially when you know how insomnia coffee usually tastes like and you are not getting it

02/05/2025: Coffee is ok, nice place to sit in. But cakes/pastries this is not my story, nothing special.

14/08/2025: I was left standing and ignored at counter while I waited for a table on arrival. They weren’t even that busy. One waitress kept her back turned to me while she concentrated on the coffee machine. When another waitress eventually turned up I asked for a table for one. She looked at me without saying anything and then picked up 2 menus and walked off. I left and went to another cafe which I won’t name and was greeted with a warm smile and a good morning. Customer service at Grow HQ has declined significantly since I was last there.

31/07/2025: First time visiting. Food is delicious. Staff couldn’t have been nicer.

03/09/2025: Tony’s Take Away is always a pleasure to visit. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, and the portions are generous. What really makes the place stand out is the staff – Ivan and Velerii are always so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Their great attitude creates a lovely atmosphere and keeps me coming back. Highly recommend!

15/08/2025: The food was nice we just got a box of chips and dip and can which came to €9.20 which I thought was crazy as we live in Waterford city and get a meal for that price in 2 of our local chippers but that was grand we know the food is nice. The young fella was quite rude at the counter and for both of us individually slammed the can't machine down on the counter, all again whatever. But when we drive out to Newtown cove and took the box out of the bag I couldn't believe it, you wouldn't see it for a kids meal box, it was the size of my hand it was unreal 🤦🏻‍♀️ couldn't believe it for €4.20, crazy money, deffo wouldn't be back for it just couldn't support that.. Paid €2.50 for a dip, that due to the box size would last 3 portions of chips 🙄

28/08/2025: Nonsense of a place, only went there because my kids really wanted to try it. First off it's way too expensive, I mean what the hell?? The stupid ordering kiosk is a joke, I couldn't get what I wanted, it kept showing me meal like deals and stuff instead of me just picking what I wanted. After a frustrating 25 mins trying to order something just so I could get out of there, we waited another 25 mins before I got our order which was almost flung at me by a foreign guy, if I hadn't my kids with me I would have dragged him outside!! Then the final insult is the so called 'finger licking good' ..food was very bland...no fingers were licked I can assure you if that, was dull and tasteless, even my kids apologised to me for asking to go there, they never want to go there again so at least that's something! Can't understand how anybody goes there, should be shut down.

19/08/2025: The service at Kfc Waterford was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. We especially enjoyed the Party bucket and the gravy. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience."

25/07/2025: This is review on the takeaway service in Cafe Goa. Firstly the food is lovely, but although you are told it is busy, and takeaways can be up to an hr for delivery, we live literally 5 mins drive from restaurant but were having a drink so we couldn't collect. 2hrs for delivery and food stone cold when it arrived. The price is expensive but if the food is good you can accept that, however , what I can't accept is cold food for the expensive cost. So unfortunately I will not be eating or ordering from Cafe Goa again. Martin Roche. 👎

29/08/2025: Almost 30 of us went for a meal & drinks based on previous experiences. From the start, Maurice was fantastic to deal with. Calm, professional and after listening to what we wanted, he more than delivered. His expertise and attention to detail excelled. Our food, from flavour, quality, ingredients and very generous portions, we all agreed, was excellent. We were served drinks from a waitress and waiter on a very busy night, who did so with humour and efficiency. The weather was fab, location perfect, both top class food & service, topped off with the firework display, made for a very enjoyable & memorable night. Happy to highly recommend Maurice & all at One the Waterfront.

16/08/2025: Absolutely awful service for my nanny's 80th tonight . Forever waiting for food ,nearly 2 hours waiting on mains,most dishes cold ,some mains sent out as starters ,3 dishes sent back . No apology they didn't care and overcharged on paying and weren't the only table to complain about the awful food . Poor servers getting kilt by the boss was apauling and it wasn't even they're fault !

18/07/2025: A cocktail bar like you'd dream of. Nice, quiet ambiance, pleasant music, polite bartenders. The bar is a bit hidden, it was quiet, and it definitely deserves more visitors. Fair prices, good service, and first-class signature cocktails.

24/08/2025: That's not a main portion of calamari rings, no matter how you put it. Extra point for a staff member rectifying this by selling this tiny snack as a starter (that's why 5 stars for service, too).

30/08/2025: Terrible - Sadly im reviewing my unfinished meal tikka masala is overwhelmingly destroyed by coconut. Zero , i mean zero Indian flavours. I’m actually unsure how they can call it Indian food. The butter chicken was like chicken in a Milky soup, Again, zero Indian flavours, inedible. And I’m pretty sure the Nan wasn’t even cooked in a tandoori more in a frying pan dough and bread not flaky like it should be. Im a regular lover of these dishes in india, asia and UK. Fortunately im I’m familiar with the delicious flavour of these dishes and this disappointment won’t stop me ordering again… But certainly not in this establishment. ( Photo Butter chicken Which looks nothing like butter chicken:-(

23/07/2025: The pizza was very delicious!! The burger was ok but not quite to my personal taste. The service was super friendly and the toilets were clean.

24/08/2025: Popped in for breakfast. Mini breakfast was grand although a euro or two more expensive then other places. Staff are nice.

20/08/2025: I have to say this was my favorite little spot I spent 2 days in Waterford and this little gem was right across the way from me I'm coliac and get left out from their amazing menu I can't tell you how rare it is for me to enter an establishment and dine like everyone else in the place thank you so much the food was amazing the atmosphere was class and the staff were too notch helpful not only accommodating to 2 moody pre teens but 3 tired adults even helped us with bus time tables I highly and whole heartedly recommend this place and can not wait to make a return for some delisous food.

19/08/2025: Well ignore the smoking area at front, people can do as they please. I loved the furniture, the layout was interesting. The staff, even busy, were very friendly and prompt. Couldn’t fault the food.
