13/07/2025: Used to have the best chicken balls, was very disappointed recently after ordering a portion of chicken balls absolutely tiny more like chicken nuggets. Very disappointing

04/10/2025: This place has got the potential to be great. Coffee is good & made with care but the overall look and feel to the place is very tired. Doors hanging off cupboards behind the till area. Wall at the back also just looks tired. Water and coke cans in the sections in front of the till are dated (cans appear to be 2 years old judging by the graphic on them). Staff were not overly welcoming, lack of effort. I felt like the overall memo to the coffee shop should be to “take pride in your appearance”.

31/08/2025: Have been here many times and could never fault them until now. 45minutes waiting for a rare steak and salmon one couple was finished eating when we arrived. Another couple came in after us and had the starter & mains before we got ours. Very disappointing won’t be back for a long time

18/08/2025: Went in on a busy Saturday evening with my girlfriend and was not disappointed! My ribeye was cooked to perfection and she had the beef cheeks which she was raving about! Delicious food, attentive staff and a lovely clean restaurant, o and its half price cocktails on a Friday!! Great job guys!

07/03/2025: We stopped here because this place has a 4.4 rating on Google maps, which in my mind, is a fairly good rating. The tea cups and tea pot was dirty, two of the breakfasts were incomplete and no communication was made to offer something in it's place, one breakfast did not arrive and I had to ask for it. Food was terrible, my daughters pancakes tasted of old frying oil, the waffles were dry and hard, definitely not freshly made. I found a hair in my eggs. Just really poor service and very low quality food.

19/09/2025: Ordered a doner kebab, it was small, meat not fresh, for this price you get twice as much in other take ways. I still can not get rid of this nasty after taste, avoid buying kebabs there.

21/08/2025: To all the staff in Maisie’s, from the door staff to the bar staff to the glass collectors and cleaners, you made my entire hen weekend an absolute blast. From the Friday night dancing , Saturday day activities upstairs and into Saturday night dancing , you made us feel so welcome. As a hen party you tend to be watching yourselves and trying to separate as a lot of places don’t like seeing a bunch of women coming(I get it) however ye are different… we got waved at and welcomed from the second we got over that bridge! You guys are absolute amazing. Ye are number 1 in Athlone by a country mile and I’ll be recommending this place to everyone and their nana!!!! And also - whoever that Dj was that ye had Friday 15th and Saturday 16th - he’s an absolute superstar on the decks! I can’t wait to come back!! From the Galway Hen ❤️

10/08/2025: Short security fella is a disgrace. We were outside taking care of some girls cause we dont want to leave them alone. Won’t let us in after for literally no reason at all. Both over 21. We were sadly not the only ones treated poorly by this man. Wouldnt let multiple people in for no apparent reason at all. Sadly won’t tell us his name. Awful rude too..

19/10/2025: Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience at Silver Oak in Mullingar. The customer service was awful – not because of the waitresses, who were polite and friendly, but because of the man standing behind the counter (I think it was the takeaway section). When we entered, he rudely waved his hand at us to move further inside, without a word. A nice waitress then approached us and led us to a small table in the corner. We had sat there before and knew it was very uncomfortable, so since there was only one other group in the restaurant, we politely asked if we could sit at another table. After a moment’s thought, the waitress agreed. However, as soon as we sat down, that same man rushed over — a rather rude, balding man of Indian appearance — and asked sharply how many people we were. When we said “two”, he pointed at the small corner table and said, “That one. This is a table for four, that one is for two.” I asked again if we could sit at the bigger table, and he repeated the same thing in a very unpleasant tone. We decided to leave. Just a few steps away, we went into another restaurant where the difference in attitude was striking — the waitress greeted us with a big smile and said we could sit anywhere we liked. It was supposed to be a belated birthday dinner for my friend, whom I rarely see, and this experience really spoiled the evening for me. I definitely won’t be going back to Silver Oak again — thankfully, Mullingar has plenty of much friendlier places to choose from.

08/09/2025: What a beautiful hidden gem this place is 👌❤️ . From the beautiful location to the wonderful staff and delicious food 😋 😍 . I really cannot recommend this place highly enough . We where staying in coosan and it was just a short spin on the boat . Can wait for our next visit .

17/08/2025: Awful experience having to wait for over an hour and as told it could take longer and could not give a further waiting time. It was a birthday celebration and family were totally disappointed. Do not go unless you have hours and hours to spare with now sympathy.

30/08/2025: Great place for a breakfast, staff are excellent

23/08/2025: Just want to note the cost has got out of control. Eur17.50 for kids breakfast of Nutella crepes and a side of bacon. Excessive and unfortunately has become unaffordable to be able to go with any regularity.

29/08/2025: Food is very fulfilling but disappointed with the loaded fries as they don't put enough onto them. The order machines can be a pain at times to use

12/08/2025: Burger King like any other around the world! Food is amazing if you like the smokey flavour!

16/08/2025: The whole experience is awesome. Forget the price and absorb the experience. The owner took us out on their own boat just because the evening was magical. Fairy tale stuff. Can't speak highly enough.

13/08/2025: Upon arrival we were given a lovely welcome by Margot, brought us to our room and showed us everything. There was a lovely balcony but we couldn't sit outside until late as there was a lot of wasps, probably a nest nearby. We had dinner in the grapevine bar, service was poor. The food not much better, average burger, but had to send chips back twice! And still couldn't eat them. Breakfast was good but I wouldn't return.
