18/07/2026: We’ve been coming to Darwin’s for years and, we’ve never left disappointed until now. It was always one of our favourite places because of the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Being greeted by Colin and Sandra made it feel personal, relaxed, and homely. Sadly, that charm seems to have disappeared. Our recent visit was extremely disappointing. The new menu simply doesn’t suit the restaurant. The food was greasy, bland, and lacked the quality and flavour we’ve always associated with Darwin’s. It honestly felt like style had been prioritised over taste. The whole experience also felt rushed, and the cosy, atmosphere that made Darwin’s so special has been replaced with something that feels like all these new “retro” restaurants. It has lost the character that kept us coming back for so many years. The couple sitting next to us—who we’ve recognised from years of visiting Darwin’s—shared exactly the same opinion. They also said they wouldn’t be returning because they felt the restaurant had lost what made it special. Change can be a good thing, but unfortunately, this change hasn’t worked. We’re genuinely saddened to say that after years of loyal custom, this was the first time we’ve left Darwin’s unhappy. We sincerely hope the owners listen to the feedback from long-time customers and consider bringing back the quality, atmosphere, and sense of welcome that made Darwin’s such a special place.

11/07/2026: Jumped out if the hotel to grab the dinner. Very nice establishment, good food and beer.

23/05/2026: We went for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. The place is small, but if you book or arrive a little early, you can easily find a table. The menu is very simple, with just a few burgers, to which you can add a few toppings and extras. The burger was excellent! The fries are especially noteworthy: they have several different types, and the portions are quite generous. Recommended!

18/07/2026: Pints are 3 times the price of weatherspoons and not as nice. This birth moretty taste bad compared to the portetti in spoons. Feel a headache coming on. We only go here because of the sunny corner. I'm growing to hate this place. The bar man was really nice.

10/07/2026: O God what fool removed the bar, we spent an hour in the vacant space and 6 groups came in and left they did not know what they had entered.

30/06/2026: A no nonsense small eatery with barely functional tables and chairs but the crepes were delicious and that’s all That matters. Not sophisticated. But delivers of quality. What more can you ask when food is the only thing that matters !

23/07/2026: Celebrated my 50th here saturday afternoon and can not praise the restaurant enough,the staff were amazing,so polite,friendly and accomodating,nothing was too much trouble..The food was really tasty too especially the chicken wings. Thank you so much,will definately be returning.

03/06/2026: Totally underwhelmed and disappointed by the quality of the food presented and the decor in this restaurant. My friend and I shared the nachos which were passable but the fajitas were presented on a non sizzling dish made up of mostly onions, a few scatterings of peppers and straggly pieces of chicken. The small dishes of salsa were definitely not fresh, the grated cheese had a powdered coating on it and the sour cream tasted more like a whipped sweet cream. On paying the bill for such an awful meal we weren’t asked if we had enjoyed our meal or anything before we left. This in my opinion is a restaurant I certainly won’t be visiting again.

28/07/2026: A restaurant with a classic pub atmosphere. The service was very friendly, and the menu offered more than the usual four standard dishes; vegetarians were also well catered for. The mineral water was included in the price, just like tap water, and wasn't charged to us.

19/07/2026: Great pup and restaurant. The only thing that stopped me on giving 5 stars is that the Steak sandwich was a bit well done and I have ordered medium and the when you order a stake sandwich you always get a cibatta cut in half. I only got the bottom of the ciabatta... Staff is nice and atmosphere was great.
