31/10/2025: I’d actually forgotten how unbelievably good Scotty’s is. Just had a bout of nostalgia with a works burger remembering when my dad used to collect them from Munster Avenue all those years ago when Scotty first arrived on the scene. Still the best. Thanks Scotty and Jenny.

04/11/2025: One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. I had the Bone Marrow Appetizer and the 10oz Ribeye medium and pepper sauce. Great Guinness too. Will be returning when I come to Dublin next.

04/01/2026: This was a wonderful place to go for a meal with family. It would also be ideal for an evening with a loved one, or a group of friends. The steak is some of the best in Dublin, and the service was warm, friendly and sincere. They offer a great selection of wines and other beverages, such as cocktails. The setting is atmospheric, perfect.

07/12/2025: Had a group dinner. The service was fantastic and the decor of the restaurant is amazing. The chicken lifer pate was nice and flavourful. I had a ribeye steak and it was salted a little too much for my liking but the peppercorn sauce and mash was very delicious.

09/01/2026: Soild local steakhouse, I was a little disappointed not to see bearnaise sauce on the options of sauces. Starters were OK but the mains were very good. Steaks were cooked as ordered with a nice char on the outside. I did however order an espresso at the end and it came out in and espresso cup looking like it an Americano (black watery coffee) and it had been burnt. Would I go back, yes! Could they improve some stuff, yes

08/01/2026: Unfortunately, even one star feels too generous for a restaurant that has steakhouse in its name. It was not difficult to notice from both the smell and the toughness of the meat that the steaks we ordered were not fresh. I ordered my steak medium rare, but it was served medium well. I could have tolerated medium, but the difference was significant and quite disappointing. The chunky potatoes, at best, to have been steamed earlier in the day and then fried just before serving. I can honestly say they were the stalest, blandest, and least flavorful potatoes I have ever had. JD’s Steakhouse has become number one on my list of restaurants I will never try again. The floor staff were friendly. However, they did not ask at any point whether everything was satisfactory. That is why I felt the need to share my feedback here.

11/11/2025: We were visiting Sligo at the weekend. Booked a reservation on the Saturday morning for 10 people that evening. The young lad and girl who served us where brilliant. Really polite even though they were under pressure. Food was excellent. They brought 2 bowls of vegetables to the table which were absolutely gorgeous. I will visit again when in Sligo. Absolutely tops 👌

10/12/2025: I spent a few days in Dublin, ate at the restaurant and to end the night I had an excellent cocktail made by Aitor, who gave me a masterclass on whisky and glasses.

10/11/2025: Delicious food and nice calm atmosphere

30/11/2025: 30-Nov-2025: had lunch today. Staff as excellent as ever. Food was really good. Note: The specials board never includes prices; it really should. Downside to my visit was a table with around 5 kids who were allowed to wander around the restaurant shouting at each other; climbing on the back of the partitions, and whacking christmas decorations with a pen. Their mothers sat there chatting, not caring about other customers having their lunch. A staff member did at one stage ask a little boy to go back to his table, but he was up and about again in 5 minutes. Overall, I do enjoy the restaurant and will return occasionally. Nice staff, and comfortable surroundings. Had the Roast Beef lunch special. Would probably revisit when I'm Carndonagh again. Its been a while since my last visit. Standards are still high. Just had the full Irish breakfast here today. Really tasty and filling. Good value for money. Sunday 3-Mar-2024 UPDATED: Phoned today around 11:45am to ask what time they started serving lunch, only to be told by the young lady, after she asked another staff member, that they don't serve lunch on a Sunday. Doesn't sound like a good business model. Came to Google to update my review only to find another review giving feedback on their lunch last Sunday!

01/01/2026: Got a burger and chips meal on deliveroo. Cost me 20 quid took over an hour to come and they only delivered the burger and no chips. Happy new year 👍
