10/08/2025: Dinner for a family gathering, everyone absolutely loved it. I rarely get my steak rare/blue as I like it and they did exactly what I was hoping for. Non meat dishes were lovely too and gorgeous sides. Will definitely go again to try also starters and desserts

08/08/2025: After visiting Trim Castle I wanted to sit outside and Google Maps came up with this place. I went for seabass with honey roast vegetables, a lemon caper beurre blanc sauce, and mash. It was perfect; I'm not a big fan of fish, primarily because it often tastes bland or way too salty, one or the other (this has probably to do with the fact that in the vast majority of Irish restaurants fish is not particularly fresh). Not so here: it was perfect. The seabass was yummy; delicate, fresh, and not too salty but nicely spiced. Everything was lovely, the sauce too. I don't eat sweets at all, but I thought this one day I will and I went for Anna Pavlova, named after one of the dancing partners of the legendary ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky, who created choreography for masterpieces such as "Rite of Spring" and "Jeux", and whose half-tragic, half-comic diary I'm currently listening on my work commutes. Pavlova was gorgeous too, and not too sweet either. Last but not least, I would like to give a shout out to a lovely couple who attended to my dining needs - this is service as it should be: warm and prompt but unobtrusive. I was joking that I should be coming to them from Dublin for my lunch breaks to find this kind of peace.

07/09/2025: We were lucky enough to snag a table without a reservation. The food tasted great but some dishes were on the oily side. Definitely think they do meat dishes better than fish and veggies.

28/07/2025: I had high hopes for this place when I walked in. Lovely decor and felt like a nice atmosphere. I found the menu good and the prices were a little eye watering. I had the prawns as the starter. These were quite tasty and the portion size was just right for a starter. On to the mains, I ordered the 40 day rib eye steak. An 8oz cut if I remember correctly was about €45. I gave them the benefit of doubt, hoping it would be a tasty cut of meat. Alas, it turned out to be very bland. It came out looking like a burger from Burger king. Call me old school, but a steak should be nicely pan fried and not char grilled. I have had much nicer rib eye elsewhere and for about €10 cheaper too. My advise to the embassy, although I know totally impractical, would be, make the price €50 and make the steak Wagyu. I would happily pay for a good cut of Wagyu any time. I didn't have any desert so can't comment on them. I liked that they had Erdinger to drink though. Service was very good and staff were friendly and helpful. 5 out of 5 for the staff. However if your looking for a tasty steak, I would probably try elsewhere.

14/07/2025: The Embassy Steakhouse delivered on every level. The atmosphere was warm and cosy – perfect for a relaxed evening out. As soon as I sat down, I was given a complimentary bread basket, which was a really nice touch while I waited for my food. For starters, I had the mussels – they were excellent. Great flavour, and the sauce was rich and delicious without being too heavy. For the main, I went with the T-bone steak, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The flavour was spot on, and the sides paired really well with the dish. Overall, just really good food in a welcoming setting. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for quality dining in a comfortable atmosphere.

10/09/2025: Such a lovely place. It was my first time there and I really love it. Service is amazing and really kind. Place is different than you can find in the rest of the city, I am really recommend. Good job team

07/09/2025: Thank you Jenny, Scotty and the amazing staff for accommodating our large group again last weekend. Always enjoy the experience when back in Galway and would highly recommend the food, service and atmosphere for children and adults alike. It is truly a Galway institution.

11/07/2025: Myself and my Husband enjoyed a lovely meal here this evening. The welcome was so friendly and professional. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful in ordering. We had ribs and chicken wings to start both fabulous. While I enjoyed a chicken dish my husband had the cod dish of the day both excellent and we finished by sharing a cheesecake which again was lovely. All in all a most enjoyable experience. It was our first time but we certainly will be back.

11/07/2025: We visited for dinner one Sunday recently because gluten free options are available. The food was very good and the waitress was knowledgeable about gluten free options. The restaurant is in a nice location and has a nice vibe. It's popular with families, so early Sunday evening isn't the time to eat there if you want a quiet meal, but otherwise, I'd recommend. It is nice to find restaurants that can accommodate diners with gluten free requirements.

30/08/2025: There I was planning to fly out of Ireland West Knock airport on an early Sunday morning flight and just wasn’t feeling like getting up at half-past-very-early to do the long two-hour drive from home to get there. So, I started looking for a place to stay within punching distance or even a short drive to the airport. I wanted to stay away from the formulaic sterility and coldness of a chain hotel and stumbled upon this absolute jewel in county Sligo, a mere 15-minute drive from the airport. Cawley’s has a wonderful blend of old-style charm, class and relaxing vibes right in the heart of Tubbercurry. Despite first appearances, it delightfully stays away from any pretentious notions, and not only does it have favourable room rates but has a very honest and wonderfully welcoming bar and restaurant with very accommodating, natural and friendly staff. From the menu, this reviewer went for the striploin steak with all the trimmings washed down with a nice Chilean Chiraz, followed by the traditional sherry trifle and ice cream. From modest-sized weddings, to solo travellers just looking for a bed, hot shower, strong wifi and a good meal for the night, to the small dinner parties, Cawley’s is truly a chameleon of options establishment that accommodates the full spectrum of travellers, diners and event celebration needs. The very charming and conversational barman Matthew even accommodated my request for a Calimocho (simply red wine and coke) without as much as a flinch, oh and be sure to connect with Teresa, part of the Cawley family, at front of house. You won’t be disappointed with Cawley’s, now 60 years in business and still going strong.

15/07/2025: I’m very happy to leave this review. Jennifer and Theresa were so friendly and helpful. The service was fantastic. I was just driving through Tubbercurry and wanted to have a little breakfast, I found this cozy place so cute and well decorated. They had a nice welcoming sign just outside on the sidewalk advertising that they serve breakfast and various meals throughout the day and I’m so glad I stopped in. The minute I walked through I was greeted with a warm comforting surrounding and soft music playing as I walked through to the dining area there were Jennifer and Theresa very friendly and happy with each other. Clearly happy employees. They were testing a new cupcake that Jennifer had just created, white chocolate with raspberry and pistachio inside as a filling, Theresa was complementing her and telling everyone it was such a great flavor combo I knew from that very moment I had stopped in at the right place for a lovely little breakfast. They immediately acknowledged me with a smile and a happy, hello, and lead me into the dining area where there were a couple tables filled with happy diners. The decor was thoughtful and warm kind of old world comforting. They seated me down next to the window where I could see a gorgeous patio set up for dining with lovely tables and Large umbrellas. Next time I come, I’ll be sure to take advantage of that beautiful garden patio for a meal. But today I focused on the menu in front of me and ended up ordering the American pancakes. I added on à la carte scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. I also ordered some coffee with oat milk. Jennifer was such a good server, she came back twice to make sure everything was perfect and if I needed any adjustments, she took care of it so quickly. Before I knew it, my meal had arrived piping hot, and beautifully arranged. I enjoyed it with maple syrup, but they had other options which would be just as Delicious. There was even a tiny little base on the table with a little garden rose in it. The little details of this establishment are so charming and well fought out if I were a traveler and needed overnight accommodation I wouldn’t hesitate to take a room here. I polished my meal off pretty quickly. It was very delicious, in between another young lady came to check on me. I didn’t get her name, but she had beautiful blonde hair and a happy smile, and The fact that she came to check on me, even though she was at my server, added on another layer of true customer service value here. I highly recommend this location for a delicious meal and as there A-frame sign out in the front said they do serve all meals, breakfast lunch, and dinner guarantee you I will be back to try their other menu Offerings in the other times of the day and I recommend you to do the same

25/08/2025: Atmosphere and food were absolutely wonderful! Our server Laoise gave excellent recommendations for dinner and was absolutely lovely. Locally harvested mussels were out of this world. Salmon was so flavorful and perfectly prepared. Guinness was spot on and the music was lively and entertaining. Eoin was an absolute delight! Highly recommend!

23/08/2025: Good food, service glitch quickly fixed and unexpected comp, but fast food joint condiment packs cheapened the experience. Crowded, but fun place. Appeared to be well managed. Experienced wait staff. Our only caution to future diners is that condiments come in tiny portions contained in virtually unopenable plastic tubes. If you are able to get one open, expect a mess on you, table, and plate…. and forget about getting enough ketchup or mustard, or whatever for a real meal. You will get no mercy (and no usable cup of ketchup) from wait staff. I can tolerate ketchup in tiny plastic packets that splatter all over when I get cheap fast food hamburgers. But this is not a fast food joint and a hamburger and fries costs almost $25.

26/08/2025: Food is bland and without effort, the cost to quality gap has widened here. We have been going for over 15 years, and in recent years the millstone has unfortunately fallen into the tourist trap of providing low quality food at high prices and turning around tables in 40 minutes. There are much better restaurants within 1 minute of the milestone which provide high quality standard of food, even the food basics fall short, focus on quality is needed.

25/08/2025: The restaurant looks small but it could accommodate a number of guests. The food is absolutely amazing. The menu is not overwhelming. The price is very affordable for the quality, taste, experience, the portion. It’s a gem! Would definitely go back again.

16/08/2025: The girls were very nice. But the food was very bad. I ordered a mack and cheese. It was very dry and there was really small amount of cheese for the amount of past. I've been in some places with mack and cheese, and this place was the worse.

10/08/2025: We stumbled upon it somewhat by force, being in Charleville and not having much other choice. The staff was really friendly. The food was a bit bland, but still good.
