04/05/2025: You can tell they aren’t use to having non white customers. Was treated very differently to everyone else to the point where I wasn’t even offered water on my table just given the meal I ordered with no form of conversation nor was there any form of welcome on arrival. Please note I had to walk up to the bar Everytime I needed something as nobody would come near my table.The meal itself had some burnt and inedible bits. Very disappointed in the service. Felt so out of places. When I went to them to pay instead of someone coming to me like they did everyone else, I asked for water as there was none of my table and one of the waitresses sniggered. Very disappointed. Would not recommend if you’re non white as the atmosphere may not be welcoming for you

28/04/2025: I stayed two nights at the hotel and had dinner both nights here. I would hardly recommend the prawns pil-pil, the truffel parmesan fries and the 8oz beef burger. The staff, the place and the food were PERFECT. Just one con that for me was not a con because I like the beef medium-well cooked but, in my opinion, the service should ask the costumer for it. :)

17/04/2025: I hadn't been to the Whale's Tail for a few years but it is even better than I remember with a more extensive menu. The mains were all excellent and the staff make for a welcoming experience. The cocktails are also first-class. Highly recommended and definitely among the best spots in Clon.

03/04/2025: So disappointing, Mash potatoes were full of lumps and vegetables were barely cooked. Considering this place is affiliated with a distillery,They would not make me an old fashioned?? How strange. At this price you really should be able to serve up some tasty mash. My 8 year old literally does a better job.

19/03/2025: My food was cold, bland, tasteless and so was my wife's food I asked for Bbq chicken wings that were cold & tasteless absolutely disgusting sauce & gourmet plain chesse burger with bacon came with no bacon, when I asked for my bacon it came on a side plate pushed onto the table no flavour or taste to the food never eat in here again and when I complained about the food I was still charged full price over 70euro completely horrible tasteless cold food and I witnessed at least 15 plates/dishes sent back by customers in the 2 hours I was there

11/03/2025: A group of 6 dined on Sunday night. The second we walked in the door we were greeted warmly and promptly shown to our table. The ambiance was truly delightful, with a vibrant atmosphere that filled the entire restaurant. Our server, Angela, provided exceptional service, demonstrating attentiveness and friendliness while anticipating our needs with ease—truly outstanding! There was a variety of different starters ordered from mussels, chicken wings, garlic bread & prawns. Each choice was full of flavor and enjoyed by all the table. Main course ranged from steaks to fish to burgers, again, these were incredible. Busting with flavor and cooked perfectly. Salted caramel parfait was the table favourite for dessert! All in all, a great venue to meet as a group of friends or a couple to enjoy great food, great service in a great atmosphere. Thank you to all the amazing team!

26/11/2024: It's been a while, but I've been there four times and each time it's been an experience. Steaks fantastic, side dishes or wines simply fantastic. You definitely pay for the service and the ambience. During my visits there were muffins filled with cheese and butter first. Guys, I've never eaten anything like that before or since. And before that, a nice gin and tonic in the cellar. Simply worth the trip.

27/03/2025: Gran pub, supongo que de gestión familiar. .tan amable y el personal era tan profesional y la comida y presentación de la misma fue absolutamente fantástico...estuvo allí durante 2 días consecutivos y tomó la sopa de patata y puerro y hoy tuvo la sopa de pollo y maíz dulce Sinceramente no viene mejor ... chicos bien hecho

12/04/2025: From arrival to departure, it was a pleasure to be here. Warmly greeted by FOH Team Member Ciara, we were shown to our lovely table, and menus arrived as well as being informed of the specials on offer. We chose Scallops and Crab and Lobster Arancini, fabulous, and for mains I chose the special of half lobster and skinny fries, whilst my sister chose Chicken Carabonara, fabulous. Thank you Chefs Aidan, Christian and FOH Team Members Ciara and Martina for your knowledge and wonderful customer care.

04/05/2025: Had defended the quality of this supermacs before to a local who argued this was the worst supermacs in Ireland. I have to admit as a local myself that he was right. On numerous occasions of ordering online, I have been left waiting for food, 1 hour on one occasion, although it was a busy evening in there, but today takes the biscuits. 2 children's nugget meals ordered online. Arrived to find the two meals going cold sitting on the worktop open bagged. Staff were not sure what they were and that they were paid for. Eventually, they gave them over to land home and found one missing the chips. Had to share a small portion of chips between 2 kids and cook more myself. Kinda defeats the purpose of stopping there in the first place. This may be a staffing issue, but at midday on a quiet Sunday with about 6 customers, it wasn't like they were rushed off their feet. Needless to say, I'm deleting my supermacs app and account. Gonna spend an extra couple of euros for a place with decent service and feed. Sad to say with this place on my doorstep.

20/04/2025: Best ribs I've ever had I finished them in under five minutes and the fries were amazing and the staff were super friendly and the music was great loved this place definitely coming here tomorrow night for sure and I wasn't lying when I said I'd come back

08/04/2025: Lovely spot to come for food and drinks. The food is beautiful, and you'll always get a nice pint. The staff are very friendly and obliging.

Noticed the small space and amount of staff in that space trying to deal with rush hour. My heart goes to the staff
