01/11/2025: Burger completely overcooked, the cook must have fallen asleep while cooking it. Disgusting! I will not trust the restaurant to cook a 40 euros ribeye.

30/10/2025: In for a lazy late Easter Monday lunch. Had the beef tacos special - the beef consommé was a taste explosion! Delicious! Great to see real independent Irish craft beer on the menu too!

09/09/2025: I ordered an 8oz fillet explicitly cooked rare, waited 40 minutes without a check-in from the wait staff, and finally received a steak cooked between medium rare and medium (see photo). Another table next to us ordered burgers, which looked quite good however!

25/09/2025: Went for lunch Saturday.. the staff could not have been more helpful with an above and beyond service attitude. It's very hard to find this level of service anymore. We were travelling for work. I really wanted a proper steak. They sorted me out with request including dietary needs. Tasty food, steak cooked as requested. Wholesome food. We did only try the steak. Highly recommended. Nice toilets, nice room, comfy seating and decent sized tables. Will be backif back in Ennis!. Thanks all!

04/09/2025: Good food and nice staffs but plain environment. I thought lamb cutlets would be a fried one but actually it's similar to US version of a lamb shank. I ordered a lamb shank but that's not what I expected.

23/11/2025: Visited in late September on a very quiet night – only 4–5 tables and around 3 servers on the floor. Service was extremely slow and unorganised. Our starters arrived before our drinks, and despite trying several times to get a server’s attention, no one approached us until after we had finished eating and I had to remind them we were still waiting on drinks. The mains came shortly after. The lobster was slightly overcooked but still enjoyable, and the steaks were cooked well. However, we then sat there for around 30 minutes with empty plates and glasses, again repeatedly trying to get a server’s attention. Eventually, we gave up and just decided to leave. To make matters worse, we were charged an automatic 10% service charge which was never mentioned on the menu or in the booking confirmation. To be fair, whenever a server did actually interact with us, they were very friendly. I didn’t leave a review at the time, but I did give feedback after they emailed asking for it. The response I received was basically: “Please try again.” Honestly, I wouldn’t risk spending €200 again just to hope it’s better next time. I’m only leaving this review now because I’m tired of getting emails every few weeks telling me to book again!! Tl;dr ? Meh

19/11/2025: Came just for the duck wings, they where as good as they sounded! Sweet, spicy, tangy and tender!

14/11/2025: Went with my 14 year old son. We had the steak on a stone deal. Absolutely delicious and great value. Definitely recommend!

06/11/2025: A very nice bar just past the halfpenny bridge on the north side of the river, so a bit less touristy than the one opposite. A good, well-prepared meal (excellent chowder and Irish stew), served with a friendly attitude. Be aware of the kitchen closing time; the following day, a Monday evening around 8 pm, we couldn't get a table...

16/11/2025: Midday lunch. Probably the saltiest burger I have ever eaten. All I could taste was the overwhelming taste of … salt. Burger looked great, was cooked exactly as ordered (double w/ cheese). but wow.. the level of seasoning in the meat was ridiculous. Perhaps it was a bad batch, but not inclined to try again to find out. Service was excellent. But did I mention the salt?

13/11/2025: I can say this is one of the best burger spots I've ever been to. I am a huge burger fan and have tried lots of burger places over the years. So, when I first came across a review recommending this place, i didn't expect to discover another pefect burger. But it turned out the review was absolutely right. this place was fantastic. What i liked the most was how well-balanced the overall flavor was. I ordered my patty meidum, and it went perfectly with the other topings. There are many good burger places out there, but I often find their burgers a bit too greasy, which makes it hard to finish. On the other hand, bunsen burger didn't give me that heavy, oily feeling. I enjoyed every bite until the end. I can tell it is even comparable to the burger I had at Gordon ramsay's restaurant. As for the fries, I went with sweet potatoes fries, which are known as their signiture side. Personally, I don't think they paired well with the burger. the sweetness distracted from the burger's flavor. I would recommend going for the regular fries intead. Nevertheless, this minor flaw wasn't enough to affect my overall rating.

22/11/2025: Best milkshakes I’ve ever had in my life!!! Chicken burger was good, a bit too fried. The wings were nice. The fries were the only thing I didn’t like. Good service!
