08/12/2024: We enjoyed a great meal for 2 in People's Restaurant yesterday and it was fantastic value. The early bird 2 course offer for 29 euros is so good - I had the Buffalo wings and Thai chicken curry. I would happily recommend both to anyone, especially if you have a big appetite. The portions were more than sufficient! The burger was also really good and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Another excellent place to eat in Cavan Town. Diners are spoiled for choice there. I look forward to eating in People's again.

17/12/2024: Absolutely wonderful experience on our first visit to Nevins, Food was fantastic ,we had a truly memorable dinner, all the staff made us feel very relaxed throughout the visit. We stayed overnight in a lovely comfortable room and to top the visit of we had a gorgeous breakfast. Huge thanks to Nevin and all the team we will definitely be back 👍

26/11/2024: The owner was so lovely. He saw my elderly mother enter the hotel and he led us into the restaurant where he sat us near the fire. A lovely friendly waitress came to take our order and the drinks and food were delicious. Lovely hot, tasty, freshly cooked homemade food. Lamb and turkey & ham were delicious. The sherry trifle was delicious also. Could not fault anything. The owner came to our table on two occasions to find out how everything was. The waitress gave us chips and garlic potatoes as an extra with our main course. The portions are very generous and the prices are extremely reasonable. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Enjoyed our Sunday lunch very much indeed. Rita. (Co. Sligo)

14/01/2025: Nice hotel. I arrived a bit early and they didn't hesitate to get me into a room that was ready. Friendly staff, very accommodating. Rooms have lots of storage, coffee maker, iron and extra blankets if you need them. My only issue was I was unable to turn down the thermostat on the radiator so my room was a bit warmer than I prefer.

12/01/2025: An absolutely outstanding experience. Right from walking in the door the owner Gráinne couldn’t have been more welcoming. The food is 10/10 and the desert was 11/10. It is a lovely place to go for brunch after walking the stairway to heaven! If we weren’t from Dublin this would definitely be my new Sunday brunch spot

13/01/2025: What a lovely inviting place for food. It was very busy.we had a table booked and did not have to wait too long until we were seated. We had to wait a while to be served a drink at the bar.food was gorgeous .Will be back.

01/01/2025: After dining at Shades, I tried my best to look for an imperfection not to leave a 5 star review, but found none. I ordered the steak and it literally melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Crispy Brie with pecans (as shown in my photo), the first bite & I almost shed a tear. Lovely! And of course, great atmosphere and interior design, warm & cozy. Friendly & attentive staff, and a great service! To sum it all up in one word: Sublime.👌

06/01/2025: We had the most wonderful stay at the Kilmore on New Year's Eve. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was beautiful. 10/01/2025: Booked in due to a poor F&B experience in the Cavan Crystal Hotel the previous night and we were very happy we did! Arrived with my Dad, Sister, Niece and Nephew and were very well looked after. Xmas set menu was excellent. I had the Game Pie and Cod specials followed by the Baked Alaska and all put a smile on my face. Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis and Amaretto Sours were ten out of ten! Excellent job by everybody involved.

08/01/2025: I'm not sure I could fault this place. From start to finish my interactions and experience with the Oak Room was fabulous. Their website said they had no availability on my date but I emailed to chance my arm at a last minute booking for my wife's birthday and they got me a table. We had an abundance of choice as two vegetarians (who also enjoy vegan options) which was so refreshing. We both ordered different starters, mains ,and desserts and swapped plates every time to try as many flavours as possible. Not one dish disappointed! The beetroot risotto was INSANELY GOOD. I only wish there was a third person at our table so we could have tried every available vegetarian option ! 🤣. Aside from the food, the place itself is lovely, very nice layout and decor, and above all else the staff were amazing. The manager Laura was very accommodating and our main server Saoirse was so so lovely. She has a really nice manner about her. She was very conscientious of my peanut allergy and even sang happy birthday to my wife when the dessert came out. Something I didn't even organize or request. Legitimately one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Please don't stop doing what you're doing!
