27/11/2024: Ordered a delivery. This took 1 and half hours to come, had to call in twice about where the order was. The delivery driver was abusive and told me he is just a driver and how is he meant to know where he is going 😅 Food was stone cold. This place has turned into a complete joke stay away.

24/11/2024: I’m new to living in Lucan, got a takeaway from Chinatown for four people and we all loved it. Each of our dishes were very tasty where two of us had meat where it was excellent quality. We were very impressed. When I rang to order by phone, they were extremely busy (rush hour on a Sat evening) but yet very polite & welcoming on the phone. I’d highly recommend Chinatown.

17/12/2024: Went for the new spice box meal deal. You get the spice box, which is the weight of a small child or Chihuahua. Hearty portion indeed. And a pot of curry sauce and a can of Coke. All for the wallet friendly sum of €12. Now. This was my first Spice Box experience so I might be slightly biased. But what an incredible culinary take away journey I went on. Finished the lot. Perfectly spiced hearty chips, crispy and fried to perfection. I was surprised to find it all nestled on top of a delightful bed of chow mein. The crispy chicken and chicken balls paired well with the crunchy vegetables. The delight of the curry sauce. All served pipping hot. Would go again. Maybe tomorrow. Depends where the wind takes me. Solid spice box. Go on, spice up your life. Take me down to Canton City where the Spice Box taste great and the sauce is pretty.

14/02/2025: Ordered crispy beef in HOT GARLIC SAUCE don’t know what this stuff was! Absolute dirt it smelled so sour and tasted the very same so thick and absolutely disgusting..went straight into the bin so disappointing as wasn’t cheap either..

18/01/2025: I had a disappointing experience with Ashford Oriental Chinese Takeaway that I feel compelled to share. I ordered Chinese food through Just Eat, expecting a delivery time of 30- max 45 minutes. After waiting for over one hour, I called to check on my order, only to be met with a dismissive response from the staff member who answered the phone saying 'it'll be there when it's there kind of thing'. It felt like they didn't care about my situation, and I was left feeling frustrated and hungry. One of the main reasons i chose this place over others was due to the delivery time advertised. 15 more minutes go by, so at this point we're at 1 hour and 15 minutes... When the food finally arrived—over an hour and 15 minutes later—the delivery woman gave off a very rude and unpleasant demeanour. She was seemed visibly annoyed, unfriendly and kind of flung the delivery at me without saying a thing. There was no apology for the delay, which would have been a simple courtesy. Instead, glared at me in a very unfriendly and rude way, as if my inquiry (when i rang the restaurant checking on the order at the 1 hour mark) had upset her. This lack of basic customer service is unacceptable. I understand that things can get busy, but waiting this long for a takeaway is not justifiable, especially when the restaurant sets specific delivery expectations. Takeaways are not cheap, you get it as a treat for something quick and easy. Unless you're me and have to wait an hour and nearly 20 mins and get very rude treatment and no customer service along with a hefty bill. This was a horrible experience. I will not be ordering from here again and would advise others to consider their options carefully.

27/12/2024: Original Review Prices are absolutely despicable, every item on the menu is anywhere between 0.50 to 2.50 dearer than other Chinese takeaways in Blanch... and the food is nothing special Updated 27/12/24 Tried this again under new ownership. The prices are still high but so is everything else now due to inflation so it's not as ridiculous. The quality and portion sizes are good.

23/12/2024: Host used to serve the best spice bags in Dublin 15—they were absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. I bought spice bags today, and the moment I opened the bag, it was clear something had changed. The smell was off, the contents were coated in a sticky syrup, and the shredded chicken was uncomfortably chewy. We tried to give it a chance, but it was so bad we had to throw it all away. The taste was indescribable—like a mix of cinnamon and sugar. Spice bags are not meant to be sweet, and this was a huge disappointment.

18/03/2025: We have being customers of Richards for years but the food quality has declined, tastes different looks different. One time the quality and consistency was by far the best you would find sadly not now. Make changes for the good guys people won't put up with this much longer

17/03/2025: We ordered a spice bag, chicken balls, and fried rice. To be honest — everything was absolutely delicious! As locals, we used to order from another Chinese takeaway, but this one is even better. The lady at the counter is lovely and really makes an effort to communicate. Highly recommend.

14/02/2025: The best food I ate in Ireland, simply great taste, each dish has a different taste, from neutral to spicy, choose Chinese dishes. They are great. The restaurant has a line for Indian people who like curry don't choose them and also fast food, although the fries were divine. Eat Chinese food at a Chinese restaurant, it's amazing! Thank you for the work of the staff, they work and serve everything very quickly)

12/01/2025: Shocking can't even get an order correct when u ring them up they and say they got it wrong they fight with you to say they didn't. Wouldn't usually write a review this is about the 4th time it's happened in past few months. Got food at 5.30 chips tasted like they reheat them from last night. Parents ordered food again yesterday for here, chicken was like rubber chips like cardboard.

19/01/2025: The food was fine until I almost choked on a piece of something like a wire. My friend also had chicken that was a little raw. The girl who served us however was lovely and the prices are decent too.

21/11/2024: My infant daughter and I went here for her wedding, we ordered a curry and were served what appeared to be a severed birds carcas with a cactus poking through the top. This wouldn’t have bothered me but afterward it rained. I blame the curry.
