24/02/2026: Fine big bar plenty of tvs to watch a match, we were in for a carvery & it was very tasty I had the Chicken supreme herself had to beef, it was delicious, lovely big portion too, would highly recommend, we definitely will be back

17/02/2026: I came here with my elderly parents for lunch today. On arrival there was a cosy fire lighting which was a welcome bonus on a cold wet day. We had a lovely lunch, they do a great roast there. I must say the staff really went above and beyond to look after us. We were greeted warmly & nothing was too much of an ask from our servers Fiona & Dawn. Both women were extremely efficient with our food and drinks orders. and really enhanced the experience by their warm friendly demeanour. They really went above and beyond to look after us. As a business owner myself I see staff like these as the heartbeat of successful business so well done ladies, we will definitely be back & would highly recommend!

13/10/2025: Excellent service and Murphys. Came to watch the Wales game, which they initially didn't have on. But the legend behind the bar took the time to edit the settings in order to stream BBC Wales for me. Good friendly atmosphere, highly recommended 👌

15/03/2026: I made a reservation one week in advance to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and clearly informed the restaurant that we would be 8 adults and 2 toddlers. Despite this, when we arrived we were given a very uncomfortable table with chairs that didn’t even have backs. I had also mentioned that we would need baby chairs for the toddlers, but we were told there was only one available. There wasn’t even a proper seat for a baby who is not yet two years old. Expecting a toddler to sit on a backless chair was very surprising and disappointing. Since it was my daughter’s birthday celebration, we had several bags and items with us, but the table space was so limited that everything had to stay on the floor. When I explained that I had called a week in advance specifically for this occasion and had invited our guests based on their confirmation, the staff member responded in a dismissive way and said something like, “It’s Mother’s Day, you should be happy you found anything.” The reason I booked a week in advance was exactly because it was Mother’s Day. What was also disappointing was the way the situation was handled. When I asked if another table could be arranged later, the staff member immediately said “no” without trying to offer any alternative. We are not first-time visitors and have had dinner here many times before, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, on my daughter’s birthday — a very special day for our family — we had a negative experience in front of our guests. The staff member named Edward could improve his communication with customers, as the interaction felt unfriendly and unhelpful, which was unexpected from a place we have visited many times before.

15/03/2026: We made a reservation one week in advance for 10 people to celebrate a baby’s birthday. On the phone we clearly explained that everyone would be eating, ordering drinks and that we would bring a cake. When we arrived, we were given a tiny high bar table with bar stools, which is completely unsuitable for a group of 10 people. One of our friends is pregnant, and we also had two babies with us, yet this was the table we were offered. The worst part was the extremely disrespectful attitude of the staff member named Edward, who told us that we were “lucky to have found a place.” Speaking to customers like this — especially those who booked a week in advance — is unacceptable. The experience was so unpleasant that we left without ordering anything. The entire group felt embarrassed and disrespected. We strongly do not recommend this place.

04/01/2026: Really poor. Website advertised kitchen open until 9 pm. Tried to place an order at 19.37 to be told that the kitchen closed at 19.30. Despite our group placing an order at 19.26 and pizzas did not arrive until 19.55 they would not accept an order for two pizzas. Stonky behaviour by manager Gary Caughlan who demanded that the kitchen closed. Staff obviously still on site. No incentive to return. Would definitely not recommend this pub as a place to go to in blackrock

30/12/2025: Met friends here before a Munster game. Lovely old establishment only a short walk from Pairc Ui Chaoimh. We were able to book a table, have a nice meal And a couple of pints. Staff were friendly, efficient & helpful. A wonderful atmosphere pre game with a friendly crowd. Highly recommend this venue for a pre/post game.

18/12/2025: Amazing cozy place. Great menu and fantastic service. I tried their quesadillas and fries ! It was fantastic. Pink lemonade was also soo good. Ended by meal with the best apple crumble.

11/11/2025: Generous food portions and great service! We visited on a rainy day, so we ended up sitting indoors, but the atmosphere was still lovely. Would love to come back and try the terrace seating next time; it looks like the perfect spot to enjoy a nice meal with a view.

29/12/2025: Was in a couple of days prior to Christmas. Belting atmosphere. Had 3 packets of scampi fries as an accompaniment to the Guinness so feel the food rating is fair.

20/10/2025: I bought a baguette with hot chicken this morning and the chicken was like a shoe sole, it was probably three days old and the baguette is also dry, disgusting! Considering the class of the store and the prices, I thought the food was of a high standard and fresh, big mistake, I will definitely not go back there.

14/01/2026: Honestly, the food was not great. I ordered a blue cheese burger and the flavour was so weak that I wondered if it just was cooked next to the cheese instead. My brother had the ribs and they were alright, but nothing special. The staff were nice, friendly and attentive, but I would not recommend for food in Cork.

04/12/2025: Beautiful gem of a cafe in the centre of Cork city! Stunning crockery, decor and atmosphere inside and outside the cafe in a quiet mall. But most of all, clearly the nicest hot chocolate I have ever tasted! The cakes are also very tasty and the staff is very kind and pleasant. Great place to stop by when Christmas shopping. Looking forward to call again...

08/10/2025: Small, quaint shop with excellent food and friendly staff! I had the Nutella banana pancakes and my husband Breakfast nap sandwich. Both were delicious!! We also had the raspberry almond cake. Tea and coffee were great. Reasonably priced and food was super fresh! A must see!

05/09/2025: We recently ordered a sandwich platter for 15 people from the Floury Apron. They were absolutely top quality and we had a great mix of fillings in ciabatta , foccacia, wraps and slice pan. Caroline was very attentive via email and followed up afterwards to make sure we were happy with our order. Food, service and value were all 10/10. Would highly recommended.
