30/11/2025: Really disappointed with my recent stay at the hotel. My partner and I stayed there along with some of his family over the weekend (we had three rooms in total), and for the money we paid, the service was appalling. We rang ahead to book dinner and were asked whether we would prefer to eat in the bar or the restaurant. It was explained that these were in the same area, but that the bar offered a more relaxed dining setting. We chose the bar under these pretences, but when we arrived for dinner we were told that the bar did not have a proper seating area and that we would have to sit at a low table with a mix of stools and armchairs in the corner. We were extremely disappointed, but it didn’t end there. We were then told there were different menus for the restaurant and the bar (something we were never informed of when booking), and the bar menu was extremely limited. It took about 30–40 minutes for our order to be taken, and then the same amount of time again for the food to arrive. Other small issues occurred throughout dinner, such as water being brought to the table with no glasses, and parts of our food order coming out wrong. As it had taken so long to arrive, we didn’t bother sending it back. Because the bar area was not part of the restaurant as we had originally been told, no one ever came down to take drink orders or check on us, which meant we constantly had to go up to the bar ourselves. When we asked for the bill, we were left waiting again, and after asking twice, we eventually just went up to the bar to pay. We voiced our concerns during dinner and all we were offered was an apology. We then headed down to the Glasshouse cocktail bar, which was equally disappointing. Our drink orders were taken straight away, but once again it took over 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive, so we left after just one drink. We shared our concerns again at checkout and even spoke to a manager, who said all they could offer was an apology. We left extremely dissatisfied, as the hotel itself is beautiful, but sadly the service does not match the price point.

27/11/2025: Absolutely loved our stay in the woodlands suites. Food, location, and spa were amazing. The hospitality was unmatched. Will be back for sure.

02/11/2025: I got spicy chicken meehon after describing what kind of a noodle i want on the night of the halloween,no eggs not sweet sauce ,the women taking my order was very practical to guide me with my choice and also asked me if i want spicy or not.(it is really spicy so if it is not for you keep that in mind) What i received as my order was totally what i was craving.the price (11.50)sounded a bit too much in the beginning for a takeaway noodle but considering the portion guess it was ok, she also let me charge my phone inside on a very busy night even before my order so thanks again to her for that.The only thing i would recommend them to come up with a solution with is their plastic boxes they put the food in.As you would expect asian food is served super duper hot and it is really not healthy to serve boiling hot food in plastic boxes,other than that the food is 5/5 and the service was even better

04/10/2025: Feee art gallery, not huge or with lots to see, but what they do have is thoughtfully crafted & interesting. Also a nice little shop with a wide array of things to purchase. Cafe & toilets dow stairs and with free entry

10/08/2025: Visited Route Fourteen with my family for lunch. The food was great, the dining area was spacious, but I have a few points I hope can be considered to improve the service. There were two lunch menus on our visit: one standard lunch menu (same as website) and one specific for the day or week. We ordered from the second menu since they seemed seasonal and more fresh than the regular menu. The prices were similar to other gastropubs around Cork City. I ordered pork belly with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork was stuffed with walnuts and dates, a stuffing I would have never thought would taste so nice with pork. Other dishes we had were the "Smash Burger" and Reuben sandwich. We ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce for starters. Everybody enjoyed their orders but the beef in the Reuben would be better if it was not heated much. For dessert we had a mango and raspberry cheesecake and lemon meringue. Both were presented nicely and tasted amazing. They are best eaten between two people as they are large desserts. We were seated at a bright high table by the window, however we were near a large private booking and I felt a bit under pressure as the staff were setting the tables around us for the arriving diners. Given that the venue was not busy when we arrived, I would have preferred sitting further away from the large group booking. I would highly recommend visiting Route Fourteen on your next day out for lunch or dinner at a gastropub.

09/09/2025: Beautiful house, perfect location, best breakfast with vegan options, kind and generous hosts. Peaceful.

13/07/2025: We absolutely love Fernroyd House. My family of 8 stayed here, occupying 4 rooms. Each room was spacious and lovely, each also having its own ensuite bathroom. The made-from-scratch breakfast (including fresh baked scones!) was delicious & the perfect way to start the day. Tony and Avril are amazing hosts. The location is great… bars & restaurants all very walkable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

08/09/2025: Brilliant venue for a small gig It was my first time at this venue and it won't be my last. Monitors where you can't see the performers. Seating is limited so get in early if you're an old fella like me.€6.50 for a pint bottle of Bullmers is very fair for a City centre venue. The only thing I found strange was a plastic container with a glass bottle, But that's venue drinking for you. Definitely highly recommend 💯

30/08/2025: Good venue that gets a good selection/mix of bands. Just saw the lemonheads recently and have seen Mudhoney, Frank Turner, Bob Mould, Buzzco ks, Jello Biafra and many more over the years. Since a makeover the new sound system is much improved from when I first started going in the 90's.

I always try to stop by for lunch whenever I’m in the city, it’s something very simple but it always makes my day a whole lot better. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

30/10/2025: Update: I made payment for soaps and my money was refunded to me. No reason was given, no response to my message. It may be because of my last review but this experience was worse than the last time. I made payment of the 3rd of October, 2025. The customer care service and response needs to be worked on. More information about delivery(delivery company) used too needs to be given to the client or updated on your website/whatsapp welcome message. I had a terrible experience of being ignored without any update from the person I was chatting with. When I complained the message I got was such a terrible message, where the person responded like she was doing me a favour. You really need to do better. About the product I ordered, there is no doubt about the authenticity of the product I got it. It was exactly what I wanted. It was original, especially since a lot of fakes are in circulation and the price was the best price I saw anywhere. I hope in future I can get more of the product I got and be able to edit/update this review to more favourable experience.
