The best restaurants in Cork

22/08/2025: shocking standards Since they closing down, raw chips , chicken burger dead dry and black inside meet , chicken wings black inside absolutely disgusting

10/08/2025: Visited Route Fourteen with my family for lunch. The food was great, the dining area was spacious, but I have a few points I hope can be considered to improve the service. There were two lunch menus on our visit: one standard lunch menu (same as website) and one specific for the day or week. We ordered from the second menu since they seemed seasonal and more fresh than the regular menu. The prices were similar to other gastropubs around Cork City. I ordered pork belly with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork was stuffed with walnuts and dates, a stuffing I would have never thought would taste so nice with pork. Other dishes we had were the "Smash Burger" and Reuben sandwich. We ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce for starters. Everybody enjoyed their orders but the beef in the Reuben would be better if it was not heated much. For dessert we had a mango and raspberry cheesecake and lemon meringue. Both were presented nicely and tasted amazing. They are best eaten between two people as they are large desserts. We were seated at a bright high table by the window, however we were near a large private booking and I felt a bit under pressure as the staff were setting the tables around us for the arriving diners. Given that the venue was not busy when we arrived, I would have preferred sitting further away from the large group booking. I would highly recommend visiting Route Fourteen on your next day out for lunch or dinner at a gastropub.

07/07/2026: The service was wonderful, so much so that we went back. The first time we went in the late afternoon and enjoyed live Irish folk music. The second time was around 1 p.m., and we enjoyed a much more relaxed atmosphere with The Pogues playing in the background and some excellent local stouts, Beamish and Murphy's. If I return to this city, I will definitely go back.

12/04/2026: Absolutely blown away by the cake Karolina made for my wife's 40th. She managed to pull this together at short notice, and the quality is outstanding—it looks like a work of art. Fantastic service and a talented baker. Will definitely be ordering again!

10/06/2026: After driving from the ferry near The Saltee Islands and arriving late at our hotel, we found that the hotel restaurant had just closed. Following the hotel personnel's directions, we walked up the hill to the village but could not find a pub serving food that was open. We did however find this place. They were very friendly, the casual food was very good, and the locals that came in were very friendly.

29/06/2026: Great experience at the Talbot. My wife and I stayed there for a gig at Virgin Media park. It wasn't quite a close as I thought but the hotel was really nice and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more responsive.

12/07/2026: Asked them to double check my order specially as they forgot my previous order. And today again they forgot my tortilla chips!! What am suppose to do with the dips? How horrible is the service that inspire of marking with pen they still forgot to add the chips? And no reply from the store when I tried to contact them

09/07/2026: My go-to combo is a bowl of Mexican rice, the shredded pork, white beans and all the free stuff - and it's so much value for money! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the place is always clean and well maintained. Just the perfect treat after 2 hours of non stop badminton!
