The best restaurants in Cork

24/11/2024: Quite poor quality/price. Correct and clean double room with private bathroom. Noise was a problem during the night as other guests who arrived during the night were very loud and sounded like they were inside the room, waking me up on several occasions. Breakfast was included and was adequate with a short but sufficient selection. The best thing was the music group that played in the bar during the afternoon.

13/11/2024: The only exceptions to this hostel are its location close to the center of Cork and the buffet breakfast, which is very simple but sufficient. For the rest I stayed in the double room with private bathroom and calling it uncomfortable is an understatement. Extremely hard mattresses, not even a stool to place your suitcases on, malfunctioning power sockets. Furthermore, the area is very noisy, both for the bar patrons and because the street is very busy. Honestly, it's fine for a night maximum, but you won't rest well.

26/08/2024: I went in at 7 o’clock on a Saturday and it was super busy. I got in, ordered, paid and got my food in less than 20 minutes. They’re all super friendly and all the food was piping hot. One of my best experiences ever, I love this takeaway.

17/12/2024: I visited this place today and ordered the Malaysian Laksa Ramen and loaded chips. To my surprise, the dish tasted like overcooked noodles in thick McDonnells curry sauce — not a good start...the julienned veggies were dried out and minimal, pak choi overcooked, no mushrooms or garnish. We both tried it and thought it was honestly revolting. We sent it back, but the service was shockingly rude and unprofessional. A staff member had the audacity to tell us it wasn’t his problem and questioned if we’d ever had ramen before. Well yes, I’ve had ramen many times before, in Ireland and abroad, and this was by far the worst I’ve ever tried, accompanied by possibly the worst customer service we encountered. Anyway, staff refused to replace the dish, and when I insisted, they practically threw a small tray of chips at me with total disdain. The chips were no better — they tasted like refried potatoes, cooked at least the day before. Despite being quite hungry, I couldn't bring myself to eat them. Overall, not good enough, not even close!

05/12/2024: My girlfriend gets the jerk chicken loaded fries every time we go to the Marina Market. The jerk chicken and all the toppings are very tasty but for somewhere literally called Potato they are completely unable to cook potatoes. The fries are always undercooked and the couple of times we have gotten raw potatoes and mentioned it to the staff we were given an apology and a fresh new meal of delicious Jerk chicken toppings on an bed of undercooked fries. Great potential if they just left them in the fryer for another few minutes.

11/08/2024: I bought a 6 pack of macarons to bring as a gift home. Even after couple of days and a lot of travel, the quality of the macarons is super nice, they are crispy and have great cream filling. I enjoy that they are not so sweet.

20/08/2024: What a laugh we had with the waitresses... I admit that the pizza was good! Thanks to them for the addresses to visit in Cork!

30/11/2024: I ordered the Trilogy Box Meal through Uber Eats, but the MAIN ITEM, the Ginger Burger, WAS MISSING. I attempted to contact the store multiple times, and when I finally got through, I was told to come and collect the burger MYSELF. This completely defeats the purpose of using Uber Eats for delivery. I was also informed that there were no other options available and was advised to contact the Uber driver for a refund. However, I strongly believe this is not the driver’s fault, as it is the store’s responsibility to ensure all items are correctly packed in the order.

30/10/2024: My partner ordered off just eat at 11pm for delivery. The just eat app allowed him to order online. When the food arrived, the delivery driver shouted out the window at my partner asking him why he ordered food so late at night and that he was home in bed and had to make the delivery. As if it was our fault. If they need to update their app to not allow later deliveries then that’s a problem on their end. After the altercation getting the food, we received a call from the restaurant asking if we received the food, my partner then explained what had happened and the resteraunt hung up without an apology. Food was okay but won’t be eating here again as the service we received was appalling. Sort your app out.

28/09/2024: Always very friendly but don't always take the order right. Am always stood waiting for my soya or oat milk for mu tea/coffee because the staff"forgot".

16/11/2024: Had an evening here last night not going to go on about it but very poor , naan bread from packet, food like it came from a slow cooker soggy and wet, IV never left a review before but felt like I had to Beautiful front with hushey bowls on display beyond that hemm hemm poor toilets sorry but it is what it is definitely won't visit again. We did have naan bread on our plates and it may not be on the menu.

03/08/2024: Got a Chinese awful chips reheated, beef green pepper black bean sauce packed with noodles hardly no beef, rice taste less 23.50e not even a drink with it or prawn cracker. Never again

20/10/2024: Great pub, darts board and pool table for entertainment purposes, cosy corners and beer garden out the back for a sunny pint. Staff are incredibly friendly

07/07/2024: Super friendly older gentleman was very nice to me and my mom! We got a hawaiian pizza which was ready in just 10 minutes. It was delicious and honestly much better than a lot of the more "luxury" brand pizza shops in Cork. Will definitely be coming back!
