The best restaurants in Cork

02/08/2025: The fry, one of the very few traditional chip shops left in Cork, well priced, beautiful food, phone in orders available, and they accept credit cards

23/07/2025: I had haddock and it was not pinboned and when I was eating scales were coming directly in my mouth. It was not descaled as well and the quantity was not enough. Very bad experience with haddock. 1/4 and 1/2 pounders are nice.

13/10/2025: I have been getting Apache (Burgerhut Hollyhill) for a good few years. When the food is good, it's really enjoyable. But the food isn't always good (particularly the chips), and as a consequence, I feel the need, to write a review, in the hope, it will encourage Apache, to make some improvements. When ordering chips from Apache, staff will often serve you chips, that have been lying in the tray, for God only knows how long, mixed in with some freshly cooked chips.. Can I ask Apache management, why serve customers, old cooked chips, mixed in with fresh cooked chips..???? Its a very mean act, and I have to throw these chips in the bin, as they are hard & horrible. Why mix old, hard, precooked chips, that have been lying in the tray, with fresh cooked chips, and then serve them to a customer..?? Customers, should only be served, FRESHLY COOKED CHIPS..!! Can I ask Apache management, why you don't automatically serve your pizza's box's, in a paper bag..? If a customer orders a pizza, they may have to walk for 15 or 20 minutes, to get home. Carrying the pizza box, with no bag, means the Pizza, will lose a lot of heat, and the pizza can be cold, when the customer gets home. Also why don't you automatically serve the donor box, and chicken spice box, in a paper bag..? Again, these food boxes, are cold, by the time a customer walks home. Also the donor & chicken spice box, can leak sauce, which can destroy a car seat (if the customer is driving home) The stout, middle aged, short haired lady, that works in Apache, gets a bad pain, if a customer asks for a bag, to put a pizza box in, or donor/chicken spice box into.. Can I ask Apache management, to please supply, proper fitting, paper bags, and to offer them to customers, who are being served food, served in a box. Its really frustrating, having to continuously ask staff, for a proper fitting paper bag, to carry pizzas and spice boxes home in. I must say, most of the staff, are very obliging, when you ask them for a bag, with the exception, of the stout, middle aged, short haired lady, who always seems, to always have an issue, and an excuse, when a customer asks for a bag. If Apache, could introduce a policy, of not serving old, precooked chips to customers, and sort out the issue of supplying customers, with proper fitting, brown paper bags, to customers ordering food in boxes, (Particularly the issue, the stout, middle aged, short haired lady has, of placing food boxes into a paper bag) I will come back and give an up to date review. 04/05/2025: Tried to eat there last night and it was PACKED! Had my dinner there tonight so…upon entering I was accommodated at a table that was reserved; yes I was informed it was reserve for 2 hrs later. Fair as I was alone so it wasn’t an issue. The staff were exceptional! So kind and considerate. My meal came SO fast & thank goodness for that because I was starving. My salad was fresh and tasty! Nice chunks of avocado too. My chicken supreme was SO SO GOOD! I normally don’t eat cauliflower so I gave it a taste tonight and ended up eating it. That goes to show on how well prepared everything was right down to the cauliflower. Highly recommend when in Cork!

04/01/2026: Very good quality. Order and collection is on time. But, being a takeaway, there is no soace to sit inside.

21/11/2025: Waited 1 and a half hours for a pizza. When I came they said they hadn't received the order, I ordered again and waited an hour they wouldn't even look in my direction and other customers were the same there was 4 people left while I was waiting because they hadn't even been asked what they wanted for 30 min. They told me it was coming out of the oven a few times the last time I got ones attention guess what he said? "1 min sir it's just coming out of the oven" I said that's what you told me 30 min ago and left. 20 min after they ring to say sorry about the delay can you come get your food? 2 hours later my 1 pizza is ready. Disgraceful manor of there staff and cannot register a complaint with four star it's a joke of a company. 0 stars

09/01/2026: Came here at 8.30pm on a Friday night and was told no more sittings take away only!!! No wonder people don’t go out for food anymore. I had paid €1.50 for an hour parking previous to coming into the restaurant so ended up getting take away because I had paid to sit and wait. They turned away 5 groups of people who walked in and walked back out when they found out no more sittings take in service (even tho people where still being survived in the restaurant 🙄)

17/12/2025: Below average! I was served a doner from a day before (if not older hopefully) with attitude! A shame for Turkish doner restaurants especially in a city like Cork.

14/12/2025: Omg I've eaten in here for years in Dublin Kilkenny etc this was worst service and food tbh food lyingng in the shoot for ages asian girl very nice in fairness kept taking orders not bagging up food while 5 lads in the back looking at her I don't complain tbh but lads come get your house in order simples and my my food was cold and there's more salt ce than taco mince which is disappointing

23/12/2025: Omg , food is so gross . I'd rather die of starvation than eat here again! Absolutely vile 🤢 🔴 Large Sign outside says Opened Christmas Day !! Very disrespectful to Irish people. I believe you live in a country you should respect tradition. ( I miss Colin old owner )

12/12/2025: Normally a big fan, but tonight the two gentlemen behind the counter were terrible. Unfriendly, trying to charge the girls next to me for whole meals while they were each trying to order individual items.. Super slow. I just don't understand how I can be waiting 25!! Minutes for a wrap with 2 people on front of me. Way below the usual standard... Edit: After getting home and eating the food it was also not as nice as previous visits.. Time spent Vs Quality.. Not coming back. Ever.

30/12/2025: Staff is fantastic and the atmosphere is welcoming, they are very knowledgeable about cocktails and drinks. When we are in town we always drop by for one or two and have a great time.

29/12/2025: Once inside, the Edison is a really nice, small bar. The decor is nice and the bartenders are all lovely and chatty. However the bouncers are very unwelcoming and interrogated us going in (searched our handbags!!)

13/09/2025: Food is very nice and good sized portions but pricey. Recommending the slightly spiced chicken salad bowl ( which has a spiced yoghurt sauce) and the barnyard chicken toastie ( which has a BbQ mustard sauce). The fresh cream desserts are equally generous in size. It had a very airy open sit down area. They blend their own coffee as well.

03/09/2025: Stellar service from staff. On my own, feeding my baby and they went above and beyond. Owner really looked after me. You can see how by setting an example at the top - it trickles down. Everyone is fantastic. I’ll happily pay for that kind of service.

17/08/2025: All was good in taste, but Naan were pathetic. Eating Naan, one can easily find out its not indian

10/08/2025: I called this place to complain about food poisoning and they told me to cop on and hung up. I’m quite unhappy with this business as I feel very sick.

25/10/2025: 12 Euro for a toasty made from the cheapest of the cheap packet of ham and even cheaper brown bread. Don't eat here. It's a rip off. Staff are nice though.

20/07/2025: Loved our visit to Brendan's Burritos & The Black Market with a group from our summer camp. Everyone had a great time and loved the atmosphere/ venue. Fantastic service from the Burritos Staff, especially looking after a big hungry group. Nachos and Quesadillas were fab and great for sharing. So fresh & tasty! And then the best surprise of all.... Amazing Milkshakes for dessert. Will be back!!

19/07/2025: Lovely staff but food was disappointing. No veg, sauces were bland, meat was over cooked. Tucos is the standard.

07/09/2025: I had a strawberry milkshake, It was disgusting, too much milk no strawberry flavour at all, Very liquidity, never going there again The staff were fairly stressed out, Not a great atmosphere there , €10 for two cold drinks, Ridiculous!

02/01/2026: It was my first visit to this restaurant, but it wasn't the best. The restaurant lacked proper seating, the food presentation was inappropriate, there was no restroom or sink, and no heating.

24/08/2025: Customer service is a disgrace told to go order somewhere else because a trainee mixed up the order. Asked could i get chicken and large pizza combo at the start of the call which i was told yes i could. Then told it wasn't possible so had to speak to someone else who didn't want to listen to what i had to say and told me go order elsewhere.
