24/11/2024: Worst experience my family has had with a restaurant had while traveling. My father came to visit me in Cork, and stayed at the hotel Montenotte . Now mind you, my dad’s a bit American looking - bald straight man with a beard, but still was wearing a nice polo and jeans, etc. Perfectly kind and respectable. Essentially the staff treated him horribly even though he had a reservation AND was a guest at the hotel, didn’t even look up the reservation, just kind of brushed him off and ignored him. We ended up waiting 30 minutes, asked a few more times politely, and the only reason why we were seated was my mother got pissed off and essentially confronted them for their behavior saying they are guests at the hotel and they are treating my father with significant disrespect. Now my dad is not very flashy, it’s not his thing - again still had a nice polo - but my dads a Doctor in the US, a Director at a hospital - and shouldn’t be treated like trash for the amount of lives he’s saved (and you know, also as a human being, shouldn’t be treated this way - we were perfectly respectable guests). We essentially had to pull the “he’s a doctor” card for them to treat us with any modicum of respect. Which they did switch up very quickly after that and gave us “5 Star Service.” We have never had to do that before and it was embarrassing… On top of that, I’ve been here before with my partner and his friends separately. Was also treated fairly badly, one individual even lied and said that today was “only for guests” and I should not come next time. Which I found out from another waiter there was a lie. Now I DO dress very nicely, as I am a gay man and like to look presentable. Same with the peers I was joined with. Overall, horrible restaurant and service, they take themselves too seriously and the ego running wild in this place needs to be taken down a notch. Food is good, for Cork - but not great compared to any other top level restaurants I’ve been to. And let me tell you we have been to far nicer, classier, Michelin Star- level restaurants, some being the top in the world, and have never received such egotism. I live in Cork, and I’ve heard of individuals who work at the hotel essentially talk down and complain about the amount of Americans staying at the hotel. So overall, if you’re American - they probably won’t like you. I mean mind you, I also don’t like being a US citizen the place is horrible half the time, especially now that trump is reelected. But still, not everyone is a Trump loving, annoying conservative that wants to ruin the world - get it together. I will be posting this both on the restaurant reviews and for the hotel.

26/10/2024: I love the Terrace Restaurant with its fantastic view over Cork harbour and the beautiful hotel gardens below. As a vegan I eat marvelous food there created by a wonderful chef called Rohan who understand what vegans and vegetarians are. The restaurant has a quartet of first class chefs who can cater for every dietary need. Dining in a beautiful restaurant, eating delicious food and taking in the panoramic view below is my idea of heaven. Thank you Rohan for looking after me so well on my recent visit.

19/09/2024: Wash in here for a quick pint 17/9/2024. Terrible service. Bartender was sitting outside with here friends for 20 minutes while my pint "SETTLED". Dont take a job unless your willing to do it properly.

15/09/2024: I'm not sure why, but the toffee latte here is consistently really awful. It's delicious in Douglas McDonald's, though. Worth sorting! There's also never any paper for receipts in the self service order screens.

18/09/2024: Ordered through just eat. Delivery nice and fast, portions generous for the price the kebab was huge. Everything was perfect. Curry dip was divine. Will be ordering again.

16/11/2024: Be careful ordering in the rush hours and they were serving frozen Porotta for take aways and fresh ones for the dine in. The front desk staffs are polite however the chefs are very tricky and cheating according to situations. Don’t go with reviews here, felt most are fake

29/10/2024: It was an ok experience over there. Some items are not available over there. But they have a fantastic staff. They know how to comfort their costumer.

25/07/2024: The owner of this company Kevin has asked me to take down my review.. what a disgrace the way they treat staff.. you have to be on your phone all day doing nothing or a lickh*le to get respect. Nothing for good workers.

04/07/2024: Good cup of coffee. Not much more to say. There is minimal seating inside (seats ten max I would guess) and some outside. A few other offerings like pastries, soft drinks, coffee supplies and bulk bags, small list of toasties/sandwiches. Your typical coffee shop items. Prices were standard.

29/06/2024: My coffee (americano) was weak and tasteless. I drink a lot of good coffee so I am a harsh critic. Service was friendly enough.

28/10/2024: I used to eat here years ago. It was always lovely. Got it tonight for a change. A munch box. It was the worst munch box I ever tasted. I never ever leave bad reviews what a waste of money

24/11/2024: Takeaway only now. I ordered Lamb Madras, my partner ordered Chicken Korma, we also ordereda peshwari naan, poppadoms & chutneys, basmati rice and pilau rice. Mains were basically tubs of watery sauce with pieces of meat in then. Poppadoms were 3 tiny (10cm) like something you would buy and microwave from Pataks or Sharwoods. I expect poppadoms the size of dinner plates in a restaurant. Naan was very disappointing, dry and had no nuts or sultanas. Basmati rice was fine, pilau rice was Ok, very basic, very little spice. Chutneys were nice but we very quickly consumed the 3 tiny poppadoms. Madras main was ok flavour, some heat. Korma was quite hot, more than I expect from a korma, no sweetness. Nice all the same, a basic chicken curry. At least it was quite cheap, €40 altogether.

18/11/2024: Place was good. Reserved parking. They dont offer dine in after covid. Staff was friendly too. But food taste wasnt good. Asa laga k garam masala bus dala huwa hay. We ordered biryani, which wasnt even near biryani. And lamb curry; again gharam masala was too much . And meat not tender.

06/12/2024: The vegetarian and vegan options are very limited. They do not have a veggie burger. If you are lucky they might have Mushrooms. However the place is clean with no hairy burgers and very nice chips.
