08/10/2024: Favorite chip shop of mine over more than a decade of visiting Cork on occasion. With that said my last visit a few weeks ago ended up with them giving me the wrong order that I did not realize was the case until long away from the shop. Chicken supper instead of the Cod Supper that I ordered. It was still good but it sad that I didn't get one last Cod Supper before they shut down for good this past weekend.

05/04/2025: This place is a gem. They have such a wide variety of ice-cream and other sweet treats. Prices are reasonable for what you get, they never skimp on sauce or toppings. It can get quite busy when it’s a nice day but the shop is big enough that there is space to stand. Service is quick and there is one particular staff member who is so friendly and nice, constantly calling my friends and I ‘sweetie’ or ‘hun’ and is extremely polite and patient. Overall 1000% recommend.

02/05/2025: Lovely winne and coffees down there and actually was missing something up there, nice little snacks and soups of the day lovely wines and tapas, much more be a owner of a coffee shop it’s not for anyone a cafe or any business is not easy it’s like a prison all day long, but if the person loves what to do why not I wish to the owner an amazing time and very good lucky congratulations for the investment.

03/06/2025: I literally can’t fault the place, the food was savage, and the service was amazing, especially given we were here for a hen party of 21 people on a bank holiday! Definitely coming back, and I’d urge anyone else to give it a go as well!

27/03/2025: El Fénix is one of those rare places where you feel like more than just a customer. The staff knows how to make certain guests feel truly welcome, especially once the crowds clear out. I’ve had some of my best nights here, long after the doors ‘close.’ If you know, you know.
18/03/2025: I had high hopes for this place, but after experiencing what happens when the doors close, I can’t recommend it. It’s disappointing to see a lack of professionalism and questionable activities after hours. Not sure if management is fully aware, but if they are, it says a lot. I’d think twice before coming back.

10/12/2024: My favourite pub in Cork. Perfect for Winter as can sit near the fire with a Beamish. In Summer can enjoy a cold cider in the massive beer garden. Great staff. Sound regulars aswell. I’m a student but always have great craic with the older patrons.
