The best restaurants in Cork

08/10/2025: Small, quaint shop with excellent food and friendly staff! I had the Nutella banana pancakes and my husband Breakfast nap sandwich. Both were delicious!! We also had the raspberry almond cake. Tea and coffee were great. Reasonably priced and food was super fresh! A must see!

05/09/2025: We recently ordered a sandwich platter for 15 people from the Floury Apron. They were absolutely top quality and we had a great mix of fillings in ciabatta , foccacia, wraps and slice pan. Caroline was very attentive via email and followed up afterwards to make sure we were happy with our order. Food, service and value were all 10/10. Would highly recommended.

20/08/2025: It is a bit pricey. I ordered a sandwich which took a while to get into understand as it was busy but I legit was able to go to another place to get a coffee and come back. Then the sandwich I had was medicore. I actually can't remember what it is called it had ham in it and cheese i think and it was the sourdough bread

11/11/2025: Generous food portions and great service! We visited on a rainy day, so we ended up sitting indoors, but the atmosphere was still lovely. Would love to come back and try the terrace seating next time; it looks like the perfect spot to enjoy a nice meal with a view.

26/10/2025: I found myself visiting family in County Cork, out by Midleton. On a lazy Sunday morning, I decided to take a drive out to Cork city and grab brunch at a place I had read about. Salt is a great little neighbourhood spot. Small but well formed, the place can’t help but be welcoming. I was served by Lizzie, who made me feel as if this was my umpteenth visit. I ordered a flat white, orange juice, and the Huevos Ranchero… and boy, what a breakfast that was! Truly filling, warming, and set me up for a day out to Blarney and beyond. Salt is a great spot in Cork.

06/10/2025: One member of staff kept saying that we had to move seats, so much for the customer is always right, really not good for business, we won't be back, ps all the other staff were fantastic

05/10/2025: We have been regular customers to the woolshed over the years and never had any issues but you’re asking for trouble if you go in there now. The staff are HORRIBLE. They do not respect their paying customers and we intend on telling everyone we meet to avoid the place.

14/11/2025: We attended a wedding, and did not stay overnight. The service, and food was excellent.

09/11/2025: I visited the spa. Got the inner calm massage. I really enjoyed using the sauna and pool before my massage. The relaxation room afterwards was also really lovely!

02/11/2025: I absolutely love this place for its vegetarian sandwich. It’s super fresh and it’s not the boring falafel or egg sandwich you get everywhere else. They’ve put thought into it and the flavours.

23/10/2025: I visited Good for the Soul for lunch on a weekday. Arriving at 12.30, there were tables available so there was no waiting for a seat. This is not often the case on the weekend where the shop is full from morning until closing time. I ordered the Sweet Potato Hash. It was delicious, there was plenty of sweet potatoes, vegetarian pudding, and black beans. Be aware that Good for the Soul serves unique and modern dishes so may not suit somebody looking for a plain ham and cheese toastie or bangers and mash. The menu is available online. The quality of service was great. I appreciate the staff explaining the menu upon arrival since the top of the menu reads "Brunch" which looked confusing for a lunch time. Prices are high but typical for good quality food at a cafe in Cork City. I would recommend Good for the Soul if you are around Ballincollig at lunch time.

03/10/2025: A gem of a spot in Blackpool. Doorstep sandwiches have generous portions, not to mention all the delicious cakes and breads they make in-house. Staff have always been friendly and professional. I always make time to call to Brackens when in the area.

05/10/2025: There's so much to love about this place. A lively late night bar with a great DJ. The atmpsohere is great and there's always dacent tunes blasting. Quickly becoming a favoured spot since moving back to Cork. Tried the food for the first time this weekend, the tacos were savage. Really tasty.
