Smaczne go!

Dublin
21/09/2025: Unfortunately, the broth wasn't tasty, but I recommend the pork chop.
13/09/2025: I recently had the pleasure of stopping by Smaczne To Go, and I must say it turned out to be a very pleasant discovery. From the moment I walked in, I noticed how neat and orderly the place felt — clean tables, tidy counters, and an inviting display of food that immediately caught my attention. There is something comforting about seeing a spot take pride in its appearance, and Smaczne To Go gives exactly that impression. What truly stands out, though, is the food itself. Everything I tried tasted incredibly fresh, as if it had just come out of a home kitchen. There’s a clear emphasis on quality ingredients, and you can taste it in every bite. The menu lets you enjoy a little piece of Polish cuisine, from hearty flavors to lighter options, all prepared with care. It’s rare to find takeaway food that manages to keep a homemade character, but here they pull it off beautifully. Service-wise, the ladies behind the counter don’t go out of their way to be overly warm or chatty, yet they remain polite, efficient, and professional. They greet you, take your order, and make sure everything is correct without unnecessary fuss. While some people might prefer a bigger smile or extra friendliness, I appreciated that they focus on getting things done smoothly — and in a busy takeaway, that’s often what counts most. Another big plus is how reasonable the prices are. You really feel like you’re getting good value for money considering the freshness and quality of the food. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, taking something home after work, or just want to enjoy a taste of authentic Polish flavors, it’s an excellent option that won’t put a strain on your budget. Overall, Smaczne To Go is a clean, dependable place with consistently tasty dishes, fair prices, and service that, while not overly warm, is always respectful and decent. If you’re nearby and looking for a satisfying meal that feels both simple and carefully made, this little spot is well worth a visit.

Zaytoon

Dublin
22/04/2026: I would say that it's not a Persian restaurant from the combinations of foods and spices. It is just a restaurant with some offers of Middle Eastern food/grills. Perhaps, it is imitation of Turkish plus Afghan. I was little disappointed when I requested the reception lady to not put salt on the fries. Unfortunately, they didn't listen and sprinkled salt on the chips and I realised after I picked my food order. I think customers should be listened esp. if something they avoid due to health reasons.
21/04/2026: One of the best affordable food in Ireland.

Buskers On The Ball

Dublin
10/04/2026: Playing Poole there was nice with the family!
05/04/2026: We arrived early at the venue, around 7:00 PM. There were no pool tables available—everything was occupied. That was fine, so we waited like everyone else. When we got there, we noticed three tables with “Reserved” signs, so we asked the staff. They told us one of the tables had a reservation and would be free at 8:45 PM. We then went to the counter to ask if we could reserve it for after that time, and they said yes—just wait until the time, then get a cue and pay. So we waited from 7:00 PM. When it was finally time to pay, we were told that other people had already taken the table. We complained to the staff, and one of them said that’s just how it works—whoever arrives and pays first gets the table. But earlier, another staff member had told us that once the reserved group finished, whoever got the cue and paid would play. We even asked if we could pay in advance as a “pre-reservation,” but they said no, only after the current group finished. Naturally, we were upset—we waited over an hour just for someone else to come in and pay for something we were told we couldn’t do. We called the manager. The great “THEO, JUST THEO”—that’s literally how he introduced himself when I asked for his name. He wasn’t even wearing a name tag or any identification, and he was casually drinking his coffee as if he were at home. He completely ignored our situation and showed no professionalism or leadership. Totally unprepared. After we complained, he simply gave us a thumbs-up 👍🏽 and walked off. This is the manager—who probably trained (or didn’t train) the staff, who were clearly confused. One said reservations weren’t possible, another said they were. The manager said reservations don’t exist, yet there were three tables marked as reserved. A complete mess. And just to add, we wanted to order a large portion of wings, and the staff couldn’t even tell us how many wings come in a portion. I work in a hotel, and all the waiters know this kind of basic information. But my main issue here is the manager’s attitude. This is someone who should be trained to deal with customers properly—completely unprepared. I’m writing this in English so that if there is a real manager reviewing these reviews and passing them on to the staff, they might at least consider hiring someone competent who knows how to solve problems. The place itself is good, but the staff and management are terrible.

Ashtons Gastropub

Dublin
20/03/2026: Dropped in for a drink in a Friday afternoon, very friendly, great service. Dog friendly in the bar when we visited! Food menu looks nice also.
18/03/2026: Following a 15 minute wait for a waiter or waitress to even look at us, the waitress serving us made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. She was aggressive and rude when we pointed out a mistake she had made with our order, insisting we were wrong. When she finally checked with the bar, she then confirmed it was indeed her mistake, after making a scene in front of other diners. An expensive lunch which was ruined, avoid!

Tasty Hut Fast Food

Dublin
27/11/2025: Love their Browine and Pizza. Browine was awesome.
25/11/2025: Amazing Pizza & Even Better People! Ihad an outstanding experience at this pizza place! The moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm. They were incredibly attentive, helpful with recommendations, and made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. The pizza itself was phenomenal—fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and flavors that prove they truly care about what they serve. You can tell the team takes pride in their work, from the kitchen to the front counter. It’s rare to find a spot where great food and great service come together so perfectly. I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🍕✨

Tolka House

Dublin
14/04/2026: It's a shame the people who serve are awful, otherwise the food is decent (carvery) and the other employees are nice.
06/04/2026: Place gone down hill. Paying €18 for a full Sunday dinner and I’m still hungry after it , giving me the tiniest slices of ham and turkey. I shouldn’t have to go up and get a plate chips just to fill me up. Pure joke. 2nd time now , Sick to my stomach. So angry and annoyed over the whole experience, it shouldn’t be €18 for full plate, Your getting robbed for that , I won’t be going here again. I rather slice toast. And save me from getting robbed. And it’s not like they give you a good amount for it , your overcharge to bits. owners should be ashamed them selfs. I was honestly about to lose the head down there. Not even worth it. If you’re gonna over charge for a Sunday dinner at least give them what they pay for. And not rob them , €18 why don’t you just take my wallet instead. I won’t be going down here again and I be letting everyone know too.

09/09/2025: I googled this location on the maps, just to eat and have a beer. The waitress told me that no food is served here, despite it's on the menu on Google Maps. She was also not friendly at all. So I just left.

The Cake Cafe

Dublin
11/01/2026: Great little gem out the back entrance of a wonderfully chaotic second hand bookshop. The cakes were delicious and the staff helped create a friendly atmosphere. Note: it’s better to enter through the bookshop over the strange back alley route.
23/12/2025: A truly special, tucked-away cafe with gorgeous cakes and scones and other treats baked on site. Food portions are large, hospitality is warm and generous, and it's a peaceful spot to spend an afternoon. Abundant courtyard seating (with heaters) for the warmly dressed (my first visit was in December). Highly recommended for people who want a Dublin oasis within an easy walk of Grafton/St. Stephen's/etc. Also of note: While the cafe has been in business for a couple of decades, it changed hands this year and the new owner, Julio, was on site, very warmly welcoming, and seems to have a happy staff working for him. UPDATE: Just noting after several more visits that my first impression has only cemented into a conviction that this is a world-class cafe and people who take the time to seek it out will leave feeling like the luckiest and best-liked customers who have ever visited.
