The best restaurants in Dublin

04/12/2025: Really unsure how to say this, but the cheese they are using in the Christmas special, when melted, has the unmistakeable odour of ***. It was overwhelming. I don’t remember this smell being present in last years Christmas sandwich. I suggest that the chefs smell the creation when it’s heated.

01/12/2025: This cafe is a little gem in the heart of Rathmines. I had a beautiful salad there today, it was delicious. I regularly stop off for a coffee when I'm in Rathmines. The staff are so warm, friendly and helpful. 10/10

20/02/2026: WORST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD IN A 'RESTAURANT' !!!!!Terrible dried out overcooked pizza and lasagne was similar! Small portions too !White wine was acid! Overall poor. 50e for two, definitely not!!!!!Avoid, never going back! 0 out of 5!

16/01/2026: Lovely spot. The food is delicious - I had the beef burger and it was top notch. The host was very friendly and everything was great value. Highly recommended.

12/10/2025: No matter who you are or where your from, you will always be welcomed, by both staff and patrons, you would enjoy the friendly atmosphere, and the patrons are not shy, they love having the crack,( laugh), and will get up and sing and dance, You wouldn't be left sitting on your own, for their Irish nature would welcome you into their company, and the stories they could tell you about their lives, they would have you in stitches laughing, but they would respect it if you just wanted to sit by yourself to have a quiet drink, they wouldn't take offence, they would just have their Irish friendly nature The owner and bar staff are the same, friendly welcoming, and treat everyone the same, whether your a local or visitor, many years ago I was a landlady of a bar, and had lots of staff, although some where good, but nothing compared to the staff they're, everyone if them are professional, friendly, and courteous, this is why the patrons respect them all, and it believe because of the staff, the pub is still in the area, where there were lots of pubs on that street and this is the only one that still remains open, I've seen people coming in that where either holiday makers or new to the area, that would pop in, intended just to have one drink to see what it was like, and they would end up staying for the night, they had that much fun, because of the staff and patrons down to earth personalities A good idea to try ring to find out what night they have entertainment, as you will certainly enjoy the atmosphere

30/01/2026: We recently ordered food for collection from this place, and despite the name Spice of India, the food was the complete opposite of what you’d expect. While the prices are reasonable, the food had no real Indian flavour at all—just the colour of turmeric and an overwhelming sweetness. It honestly felt more like “Sweet of India.” There was no depth, no spice, no soul to the food. It seems heavily toned down and customised for people who think they’re tasting authentic Indian food, but aren’t. We cook far better Indian food at home using proper spices and flavours. Overall, a huge letdown and a waste of both time and money. There are many better places in town if you’re looking for genuine Indian cuisine.

23/07/2025: I have been going to this restaurant/wine bar since it opened. It has gotten better and better. The menu is always exceptional and ever changing. Its perfect for foodies, but the menu isn't pretentious and has so many gastro delights, it really is for everyone. The Staff are so nice and the music is perfect. However, I do agree with the other reviews that the pricing is a little higher, particularly on the entrees.

14/07/2025: The food is excellent. This restaurant is worthy of a gourmet restaurant. The waitresses were very patient despite our hesitations. While in Dublin, I hope to return to this establishment one day. Delicious desserts!!!

11/01/2026: Great little gem out the back entrance of a wonderfully chaotic second hand bookshop. The cakes were delicious and the staff helped create a friendly atmosphere. Note: it’s better to enter through the bookshop over the strange back alley route.

23/12/2025: A truly special, tucked-away cafe with gorgeous cakes and scones and other treats baked on site. Food portions are large, hospitality is warm and generous, and it's a peaceful spot to spend an afternoon. Abundant courtyard seating (with heaters) for the warmly dressed (my first visit was in December). Highly recommended for people who want a Dublin oasis within an easy walk of Grafton/St. Stephen's/etc. Also of note: While the cafe has been in business for a couple of decades, it changed hands this year and the new owner, Julio, was on site, very warmly welcoming, and seems to have a happy staff working for him. UPDATE: Just noting after several more visits that my first impression has only cemented into a conviction that this is a world-class cafe and people who take the time to seek it out will leave feeling like the luckiest and best-liked customers who have ever visited.

06/11/2025: Had takeaway. The seating area seemed nice and clean, but wasn't in long enough to get a good feel for it. The food was good, but the order got messed up and we one dish was lost. Double checking the bag would've been a good idea.

04/10/2025: Always serving delicious very well balanced, perfectly cooked breakfast and lunch. Today's brunch with brisket beef on real sourdough, eggs and Japanese flavours is another great taste and value example!

22/08/2025: Nice coffee, fair prices and a nice setting. My only issue is the service.. the lads take one persons order at a time (even if you order one Americano … they will take payment and make the Americano start to finish before speaking to the next person) it slows things down a lot when the next person in line may also just like one coffee.

25/01/2026: Best sushi I've had in the city, we're very lucky to have lived within walking distance for years so we've visited countless times. Service is always incredibly quick, with friendly and welcoming staff. Decor and atmosphere are wonderful, it's just a fantastic place to eat. To top it all off, it's actually cheaper than similar Japanese restaurants. Grab a Tiger beer, a spicy tuna roll, and enjoy a wonderful evening my friends

10/11/2025: From the moment of booking, EVERYTHING with our Haddington House experience was flawless. Ayesha and Sinead were fabulous with the pre-arrival plans. And going out of their way to make our stay really memorable. When we arrived, Flako, Elena and a lady manager (owner?) were so welcoming, professional, warm and generally - fabulous☺️ Our room was exceptional. With SO many lovely, lovely touches. The quality of the decor, fixtures and fittings is just next level. Not to even mention that view☺️ The food, and especially the breakfast, and the breakfast team, were of the absolute highest quality. Generally our stay in the Haddington House exceeded any possible expectations and delivered an exceptional experience. 10/5

11/03/2026: I have had many experiences with this restaurant, both dining in and ordering takeaway. Unfortunately, the service has been very disappointing. The delivery drivers often tell customers the food is on the way, but in reality they take multiple deliveries at once, which causes long delays and leaves customers waiting. The staff also seem to struggle with communication. In many cases they have very limited English, so even simple requests have to be repeated many times and sometimes the order is still not correct. Because of these issues, the overall experience has been frustrating and unreliable.

10/03/2026: This is a place to go in Dublin if you want authentic, fantastic tasting Karahi and proper roti/nan bread. Good portions and fair prices. Lots of other options on offer and we have tried some of the starters which have been spot on. Staff are friendly and the establishment is split into a restaurant area and a canteen/café area where the open kitchen is based. It is an alcohol/wine/beer free zone but there is a good selection of soft drinks available.
