The best restaurants in Dublin

14/06/2025: They have the best pancake!!! The staff are accommodating. Kids are enjoying a lot too. Definitely coming back.

10/05/2025: We visited Fat Cat Café for breakfast and started with two drinks — a latte and a matcha. The latte was fairly standard, nothing special, but the matcha was disappointing. It tasted low-quality and definitely didn’t justify the €5 price tag. For breakfast, we ordered “The Fat Cat” and “The Kitten.” Unfortunately, the quality of the sausage was subpar, and the portion of beans was surprisingly small. The dishes felt underwhelming overall, especially for the price. Initially, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but the experience soured further when it came time to pay. We waited quite a while for the bill, and eventually I had to go up to the cashier myself to request it again. The total came to nearly €40 for two coffees and two breakfasts — and sadly, I just don’t feel it was worth it.

01/04/2025: Food was fine - However, since I'm on a keto diet, I couldn't have the bread or hash browns. Unfortunately, they don’t offer any substitutions for these items—something as simple as swapping them for a tomato ;) - would have been appreciated. (( I Could not ask for extra bacon or sausage , no way )) The quality of the food was great, but a little flexibility in the menu would make it even better for those with dietary restrictions.

27/04/2025: Ive tried this place a couple of times waiting for the magic to happen but it just never came, it flatters to deceive for me.

20/04/2025: Edit: A year after my first review I see things didn't change. New employees but the same attitude of being more focused in socialising between one another and laughing loudly, than serving. We had finished our meal and the dishes were there, being annoying at the table when we wanted to use it for something else. A server would come and go close to us, but was avoiding eye contact and never asked to take the dirty plates. A different server came after a while and took them without us having to ask. There was a third server, the one that took our orders and brought the food, but he never came even near us after serving the food. Also, in this place you are asked if you want a coffee as soon as you sit. For lunch we prefer the coffee after the meal, but since no server approached us for a long time after we finished eating, we gave up. By the time the only good server approached us we were annoyed and didn't want to give this place more of our money. I think we're not considering this place anymore for Sunday lunch, since apparently the staff can't be arsed to work on that day... Original review: I have been to this café several times, I like this place, the food is a bit pricey and I wish they had more vegetarian options, but the flavours are great. The service is normally good, sometimes even great. Today, though, the waitress we had at first was more focused on socialising with her coworkers than on taking our order, or the one beside us. Later on, she and other staff members apparently were taking a break sitting at a table, they were very loud, talking and laughing in an obnoxious manner. Not really the type of atmosphere you would prefer in a café. When we paid, again another member of staff seemed more interested in socialising with coworkers than to greet us good bye. It left a weird taste, not very customer oriented day, I guess.

06/01/2025: Located in the heart of Portobello, this brunch restaurant boasts a lovely and cosy atmosphere with beautiful decorum and honestly stunning water decanters. The service is super friendly and chill, adding to the relaxed vibe. However, the food is only okay. The pancakes are decent but not outstanding, the vegetarian breakfast - while quite tasty - leaned a bit too much on fried items, and the eggs Benedict were overall disappointing. I very much liked the smoothie bowl, though! I'll say that some of this might be circumstantial to the day we went, but I wasn't overly impressed. It is still a nice spot to grab a cup of coffee, especially when the sun is out and you can sit on the patio!

18/01/2025: Very disappointed to be honest. We got one 12 inch pizza and small garlic bread and one garlic dip for 38 euro. The pizza was very chewy, crust was hard and had to be cut out. We saw many good reviews and thought of giving it a try. Definitely not worth the money or hype.

23/05/2025: I was really disappointed with the spice bag. The seasoning was bland and didn’t have the bold flavor you’d expect. The chicken tenders (shredded chicken) were a major letdown, they were hard, undercooked, and tasted awful. Overall, it felt rushed and poorly made. I had ordered spice after seeing great reviews but for me it was a let down. Definitely wouldn’t order again.

19/05/2025: Food was fantastic. We got the vegan spice bag and the saaep spice bag and both were delicious. The portion sizes are also quite large as well and the prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend!

07/06/2025: Overall a good location, but a few euros should be spent on maintenance. The room entrance door works terribly, the shower and sink drain terribly, the carpet should be replaced with a good standard laminate floor.

15/04/2025: I ordered their regular açai bowl called the snickers and it was worth the money. Loved the portion size and was really tasty.

14/04/2025: Not worth it. Expensive af with a small bowl of acai “first date” worth 11€ which you could get kn other Acai cafe for 9€. Wont ever coming back. I would not recommend! Disappointing!

16/04/2025: Service has been poor the last few times I have been there. I went in for brunch one day and we were the only people in the restaurant, and there were staff buzzing around but after 15 minutes nobody even came over to give us water, so we left. I was there last weekend and our server was much better. Ordered Eggs Benedict and was asked if we wanted the eggs soft medium or hard, we both said soft. When the food came it was an extremely small portion with very small muffins used which I think may have been frozen. My eggs were extremely hard and overcooked while my parters were soft. The dish cost €14.50. it's a long time since I felt so short changed by a meal. I live in the area but will not be going back.

03/06/2025: Spanish music is often played. I went to watch the Champions League final, and there are a lot of big screens and small screens in the basement, but the big screens have a lot of places where the view is blocked, so it might be a bit disappointing to enjoy a big soccer game. Guinness beer is about 7.7 euros.

30/05/2025: Has a very weird experience with the bar staff- we initially ordered a passionfruit daiquiri and my friend tasted it and decided to also order one. When it arrived it clearly was a different color and tasted like lemon. The staff at the table reacted polite and promptly and went back to the bar. The bartender then came over and said that we were wrong when you clearly could see that the drink had a different color from each other. Started arguing with me that he made the right drink. He walked away again and it took ages to get the second drink. We then canceled it after 10 min waiting for the cocktail to be remade and asked for a refund. (Which we got without argument- it seems like the floor staff is used to it) The staff on the floor was lovely however I would avoid it due to the bar staffs attitude

20/06/2025: Booked a table at 5:30 on a Friday evening for dinner, ordered at 5:45- by 7pm we still hadn't received our food. They told us there was still no sign of it from the kitchen and nothing they could do, as they were under pressure. After 2 hours we paid for our drinks and left. The place wasn't even busy when we arrived. Ridiculously poor

05/06/2025: This pub is a more contemporary. The front area is open and has lots of natural light. On the other side of the bar is the darker “snug” type pub that I usually enjoy. The menu is large so anyone should be able to find something to eat here. The staff was very nice with good service.

13/07/2024: First time having authentic Italian thick base pizza in Dublin. Definitely I am recommending for all pizza lovers visiting and living in Dublin to try from Astopia!
