The best restaurants in Dublin

02/02/2025: I dropped in to the cafe for a lunch and ordered a green tea and a pastry and a toasted sandwich. The sandwich was called the goat and it sounded nice. The hard wooden seats are awful to sit upon and when the girl brought down my sandwich it was miserable looking. I opened it up and all it consisted of was spreadable goats cheese and one walnut! It was on a paper plate and the tea in a take away cup. And I was charged 19 euro and 65 cents for this !! Never again, it was a total ripoff !

07/03/2025: This is the place to go if you want a beautiful surrounding while having an amazing dinner and lovely people around you. I do believe it is called the halfway house now.. but whatever it’s called, it was GREAT!!

09/04/2025: Disappointed. A quiet lunch session but service from the kitchen was slow. A Ruben's sandwich in the order arrived looking slightly burnt on one side. When I suggest send it back my companion turned it over to find the hidden side was almost charcoal it was so burned. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich on another order was soggy. No a pleasant food experience. Serving staff polite and friendly.

04/11/2024: Very central, clean and comfortable accommodation with a very well-equipped kitchen and large bathroom. They even left us amenities, juices, muffins, and tea and coffee service. We also reserved a parking space for €15/day. If you have heavy luggage, it is preferable to request a ground floor because the stairs are narrow and there is no elevator. When we arrived in the afternoon the heating radiator was on and it was very appreciated. Highly recommended.

23/10/2024: The room was completely fine for 5 people. The size was appropriate and we were also very satisfied with the furnishings. The beds were very comfortable :-) The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Our heaviest suitcase was even carried to the third floor. My children (who don't yet speak English) were also impressed by the two young receptionists from Mexico and Brazil. The location of the hotel is great! O'Connel Street can be reached on foot in just a few minutes (max. 10). There is a good and inexpensive pizzeria right next door. The bus stops almost right in front of the door. Great, even with children!

22/03/2025: The food is amazing, very tasty, fresh and delicious. They serve it really fast and the price is very good for what it is offered, best fish I have tried by far! All of the types of food which they serve are very good and tasty.

29/03/2025: We ordered the red basket and chipuffalo meal, my chicken and chips were cold as were my friends chicken and garlic bread. We both have half ate our stone cold food and then abandoned it. I really wouldn’t bother eating here

23/03/2025: This was my first time in Eddie Rockets Dundrum. We ordered Chicken Nachos to start and I got the Supernova Meal. My wife ordered a chicken salad, they brought out a wrap in error but quickly sorted that. The staff were nicer the Nachos were fab, my burger was tasty. My wife’s salad was average at best but she rarely complains. Overall we ate well and left satisfied. Our bill came to €53, pricey enough but everywhere’s the same these days, if ya wanna eat ya gotta pay.

03/04/2025: Disappointed to see they changed the menu . They stopped using real cheese on the dirty fries. Cheese sauce isn't the same. They stopped using 100% beef in there hamburgers. Won't be returning. 9 years and it's just not the same restaurant since the new company took over.

25/03/2025: Mi esposa y yo paramos aquí de camino al condado de Wicklow desde Dublín. Fue un almuerzo / cena temprano. Completamente sorprendido por la calidad de este lugar. De nuestras comidas a la decoración, a la música. No es un lugar que veas todos los días en un centro comercial. En un viaje de 11 días en Dublín, Galway y Wicklow - la comida que teníamos aquí de alguna manera lo superó todo. El sándwich de carne y el schnitzel de pollo. Siguiente nivel.

09/02/2025: Was my first time IN the homestead bar on Friday for family funeral the staff was just amazing so friendly they couldn't do enough for everyone it's A long time since I seen bar staff so nice thanks so much for everything definitely be back again

23/03/2025: Delicious honey baked ham toasted sandwich which came super fast. Cosy spot on a cold day. Highly recommend apart from the burnt coffee.

21/03/2025: Really like Tyme Out and was looking forward to a coffee and a wholemeal scone after a long walk. I purchased a coffee and 2 scones which I noticed were overcooked and bit burnt in places. I put them in bag with the tongs and brought to my table. I ate one as I was really hungry and it was very hard and overbaked. Left in oven too long. I went to the counter to return the other one as it was not nice at all, when they are usually very good. I got a blank stare and the woman behind counter went to the kitchen. She returned in a minute and gave me back the money for scone and then put in bin. She then told me , you cannot return goods. Where is the customer care, no recognition of my complaint, just pure ignorance. I have a right to make a complaint but obviously they don't feel I have. Customer feedback is important and I was nice about it but they made me feel like I had done something terribly wrong. .

13/04/2025: Once again tonight got our order incorrect .. missing an item .. but it’s the attitude of the manager when we called to informed them .. our family have been loyal customers.. Also it’s shocking how the owner Zoe responds to complaints.. seems totally deranged .. please check reply’s ..

13/04/2025: If I could give zero stars I would. My family have been frequent customers of this location for family takeaways as we love the food. It has been common that items have been missing from our order. This has been rectified in the past but last week our order was missing items, we called and were promised a credit note would be added to our account. However as my sister called in an order today the phone was passed to Zoey who proceeded to shout at her and refuse to honour the credit they promised us last week saying it wasn’t on our account. She was extremely unprofessional. If you plan on ordering a takeaway from this establishment I would recommend checking your order is all there or if items are missing when you get home demand a refund because they won’t honour their word for a credit. Update/Response: To say a customer is lying is appalling, and from other reviews seems to be habit of yours. I could hear you shouting down the phone as it wasn’t me you were actually talking to. It’s very ironic that you speak of kindness when you showed none yesterday. My review still stands regardless of your passive aggressive response and lack of accountability. Order at your own risk but know this is how they treat people who have been repeat customers.

07/04/2025: Eating here right now. The barbecue chicken wings (9.2/10) are delicious. They know how to pour a good Guinness (9.4/10). The staff are very friendly and polite. Great atmosphere, no complaints.

22/02/2025: Service and bar atmosphere were nice but sadly the food was mediocre. Beef stew was too salty.

03/04/2025: I’ve been eating here for almost a year, and the quality of the food is always excellent. It’s a very clean place, even though it’s visited by many people—the staff works hard to keep it spotless. I also wanted to take a moment to mention one of the employees, Karen. She is always incredibly kind and provides excellent service to all customers, not only in English but also in Spanish, creating a very welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to visit frequently.
