13/11/2025: As a passionate and experienced reviewer, I can confidently say that the West County Hotel is a solid and virtually flawless choice for those seeking honest value, provided they're willing to make a few small compromises. Location...The hotel is strategically located just west of the city center. For a seasoned traveler, this isn't a weakness, but an advantage. You avoid the chaos and exorbitant prices of the city center, while remaining perfectly connected. The number 80 bus, which passes right in front of the hotel every 20 minutes, makes Dublin's city center (and its vibrant nightlife) easily reachable in less than half an hour. A real plus for those traveling without a car. Building...The building itself and the furnishings are showing signs of age—don't expect the ultra-modern design of a new-generation hotel. However, this is more than compensated for by the fairly high level of cleanliness, which I found in both the room and the common areas. The room, although dated in style, was functional and complete with every practical comfort. I was pleasantly surprised to find not only a comfortable desk, but also a table and an iron. A very useful detail, especially for those traveling for work or for long periods. Areas for Improvement (the compromises): 1. Socket Emergency: There were no European (two-pin) electrical outlets in the room, only UK ones and two USB/USB-C sockets. For an international traveler in 2024, this is a significant drawback. Fortunately, I had a USB-to-power strip adapter with me, but those without one might have trouble charging their laptop, headphones, and other devices. 2. Mixed Breakfast: The continental buffet is, unfortunately, rather poor and disappointing. The selection is limited and unappealing. The saving grace is the à la carte menu, which offers 3-4 freshly cooked options (the eggs are excellent, but avoid the pancakes; they were actually crepes). 3. No Minibar: The lack of a minibar in the room is another drawback, especially for those who want to stock up on water, drinks, or snacks. Would I return? Despite the above points, the verdict is positive: yes, I would return!! The West County Hotel knows exactly what it offers: a clean, comfortable, and well-connected stay, at a price that reflects its age and its small shortcomings. It's not a luxury hotel, but a reliable base camp for exploring Dublin. If you're looking for the wow factor, it might not be for you. If you're looking for functionality, cleanliness, and excellent public transportation, it's a more than valid choice.

23/10/2025: Usually nice ice cream selection! Disappointed to say they closed early today! Usually they open till 5 but we were told @ 16:05 its closed and they cant serve

17/11/2025: Hands down the best place to stay in Dublin. This is my 19th trip to the city and I would never stay any other place. The food, the service, the location, the ambiance… all top of the table!

04/10/2025: I used to have a 5 star review on this place, however yesterday they completely ignored my dietary requirements and put mayo on my burguer. This is serious because i can’t eat egg. They refused to refund.

29/09/2025: I had this recommended by someone I usually trust on Instagram but was thoroughly disappointed. The buns are dry and quite hard, the pattys lack a proper Maillard crust while having several tendons in them. The burger tasted of something I can best describe as fish sauce (?). The staff was friendly though but I can't recommend a visit here, unfortunately.

06/12/2025: Jacqueline , the store manager couldn't have been nicer to deal with. So accommodating and helpful . She catered for 11 children with no issue at all . Such a great experience for my sons last minute party!

19/11/2025: Ordered delivery, no confirmation email, suspicious that it didnt go through I called, 15+ times answered and hung up... finally got someone, loads of excuses but told it was already out... over an hour the order arrived cold... complete rip off, 35€ including their 4€ delivery fee. Never again...

04/11/2025: The food court here is absolutely horrific, the fish was rubbery, the sandwich was made out of fresh entrails and I had to hand my soup back up because there were so many hairs in it. Absolutely vile. If you eat here be sure to bring a stomach pump, I would advise eating styrofoam before attending this denizen of filth.

02/04/2025: Great neighborhood pub. Food was tasty, staff were friendly and nothing was a problem.

01/04/2025: Sadly, closed its doors for the last time on the 31st of March 2025. Will be demolished from the 13th of April. Hopefully a pub will return to the iconic location in the summer of 2027 🙏

02/10/2025: Took 17 minutes to get my 1st Guinness (and we visited at 3pm) I watched the poor girl, who was doing everything herself, pour my Guinness almost to the very top, before slamming it down. I had to remind her to top it off - worst point I've had in Ireland. Food was average - an expensive lesson learned.

30/11/2025: Delicious food and very friendly staff. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our food. Highly recommended.

25/11/2025: One of the leading Coffee houses in the city...if not the leading...excellent coffee and good food

05/11/2025: I went there last Sunday. Everything would have been perfect, but the manager was really disappointing. He was very aggressive and spoke rudely. Honestly, he seemed to be 100% under the influence of alcohol. An older man, with completely inappropriate behavior for a public place.
