23/11/2024: Wow just wow, we found this really nice warm basement restaurant on a freezing cold Thursday night, we arrived without a reservation which wasn’t a problem at all to the nice host, a man in a white shirt with a moustache and nice haircut, forgive me but his name escapes me. We had appetisers of scallops and soup of the day, both delicious. Oh and don’t forget to order their home made soda bread, it’s delicious. For main course we had chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection and absolutely melt in the mouth. The Cocktails were also wonderful, some of the best spicy margaritas and old fashioned we have ever had. Dessert do not let the apple crumble pass you, totally delicious. Irish coffee to finish everything was delicious too. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Dublin, which will be very soon. ευχαριστώ πολύ

Such an amazing staff and service and the atmosphere is impeccable. I strongly recommend if you are looking for Italian food in Dublin, this should be at the top of your list.

05/12/2024: The atmosphere and decoration of the pub are very good. They have live music every day, for a couple of hours, but with different hours depending on the day. Better to consult. The food is very good, with generous portions. In Dublin everything is very expensive and this pub is no exception; We paid €49.30 for a Fish&Chips and a stew with 2 beers.

07/11/2024: Small intimate rooms plus a charming team of French ladies providing service and add to this beautifully prepared food and you have a superb dining experience. My wife and I went here for lunch. We each had just a main course but both were faultless: she roast chicken (how do the French do this SO well?) and I a lovely portion of bream fish. From their excellent wine list we chose just to have a glass of one of their house Chardonnays and it too was great. At 95 euros it wasn't inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for and we felt that all things considered it was fair value. And the best measure of a good experience: we would go back in a heartbeat!

05/11/2024: Ate here, and the atmosphere alone was enough to give 5 stars, then the food and service were exceptionally great. Next time we are in Dublin, we plan on making g reservations here again and not try something new.

12/12/2024: This week we went to the restaurant that does not look or act like a gourmet restaurant at all. It is very small and to get to the bathroom you have to go through the kitchen. The table is not set properly and is not cleaned between dishes. The food itself is very small and completely tasteless. We tasted both starters, main dishes and desserts that did not satisfy us at all and were within the deal of 78 euros per person. A lot of money for food that is not worth half of it. Also, there was no proper service in the restaurant. We will not return

11/12/2024: Great food and service, was unaware before we arrived that they only serve wine, they don’t serve spirits or beer in case that is important to you. Would go back for sure.

10/12/2024: I love this place! The food is excellent and super affordable, with great prices and a super varied menu, the service is great (always the same attendant who is the essence of friendliness). The environment is super clean and cozy too. They have several options on the menu for both brunch-style coffee and lunch and dinner! The tip is: there are several dinner dishes that are served at lunch at an even more affordable price. All the dishes are very filling and are very well served. I highly recommend this restaurant!! One more observation: they are so attentive, my boyfriend orders something adapted from the menu and they always make it the best way possible.

27/11/2024: Tang is the one place in Dublin I have to visit when I'm up. The breakfast on the weekends is just amazing, the granola/porridge during the week is also to die for - consistent service and a super vibe in all locations!

25/11/2024: THIS is what you hope for in a restaurant. Excellent atmosphere matched with some of the best and friendliest staff you will find. Resurrected our food experience in Dublin, and competed overall with any top restaurant in any corner of the world. Excellent from entrance to exit. Food was excellent and well priced.

06/11/2024: I booked a group into Hugo's in spring 2020 for lunch . Unfortunately due to the onset of Covid19 I had to cancel the booking. When I rang Hugo's to make the cancellation I spoke to the owner Gina. Gina was watching her world collapse with the Covid19 restrictions kicking in, yet she was so understanding and gracious when I cancelled the booking. I made a promise to Gina and myself that we would rebook in better times. It took four years, but I am so glad that we did return. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was fantastic, the staff were so caring, and most of all, the welcome was genuine. I would highly recommend Hugo's . It's location on Merrion Row is an added bonus ,convenient for so many attractions.

Cons: The place is small and space is at a premium, however myself and my friend are always told the seats are reserved and put under pressure that they need the seats in 15, 20 mins. But nobody ever comes in that has "reserved" the seats, obviously a ploy to stop you hogging a seat for ages
