The best restaurants in Dublin

25/06/2025: Absolutely outstanding experience. The ambiance was a perfect 5/5 — elegant, warm, and welcoming. The food was exquisite, every dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service stood out as truly exceptional — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. A special mention to the wine pairing, which was simply sublime and elevated the entire meal. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

11/06/2025: This was our second time at Chapter One and the most exquisite dining experience of my life. Vinegar seemed to be the theme of the (Tasting) menu and when it appeared in the dessert it looked a bit incongruous . Suffice to say it's stunning, I've never tasted anything like it before. Valrhona chocolate, olive oil, baguette ice-cream, swiss mountain vinegar, tamari soy caramel... it's incredible. It's genius. Before all of that we had sea bream tartare, grilled kombu vinegar, liver ganache with perigourdine sauce, pigeon legs, the fois gras with apple and smoked eel, lobster rice, "cheese and onion" canape, grilled pea broth tulameen raspberries with salted lemon and shiso vinegar... all completely divine. A little glass of Diplomatico Reserva rum with dessert is a game changer; no more so than Chapter One itself.

24/07/2025: Divine Japanese food. We are very picky when it comes to sushi. So glad we came across Zakura. The food was fantastic and the service was second to none.

17/07/2025: Was a tasty meal with work colleagues. Really nice interior. Old style. Food was good but I felt a bit over priced for what you got. Bread we got at the start was cold and tasted a bit old. Would have been nice to have it warm from the oven. Simple to do and would be lovely. The butter they provide tastes a bit like margarine. Pity. Steak was very nice and played very well but the fries were a bit generic for €48 quid. Not hand cut triple fried chips or something posh. Just looked like from a bag. No cracked sea salt or something to jazz up the chips. Just felt like a cop out to be honest. Starters were also tasty but lacking seasoning and depth of flavour. The wagu tartare was a bit thickly cut for a tartare. With some sinew as the silverside on the meat wasn't trimmed correctly. No egg yoke on top to mix through to get it all gooey. Was lacking a bit in flavour. No umph. The monkfish starter was very tasty but the fish was over cooked. The sauce and corn was really nice though. Had the wild sea bass. Again the fish was dry. Over cooked. But I didnt return it. The saurgo addition was flavourless. White wine pinot was delicious. Didn't have dessert. Service was good. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Music in the restaurant wasn't in keeping with the ambiance I felt. It was like a Playlist of some sorts with country and western and modern indie. Johnny cash ring of fire leading into females are much more deadly than the males and other songs of equal ilk and different ecclectic genres . But each to their own I guess. It's mentioned on the bib gourmond but needs work in my opinion on the flavours and especially on over cooking the fish. Plating was very well done for the most part.

12/07/2025: We stumbled upon this jewel of a restaurant and intrigued by the menu we booked for that evening. Well what a gastronomical experience. Stunning food, warm welcome and excellent service from Matthias and the team. It made it a very special evening!

17/07/2025: We requested a Vegan tasting menu ahead of time, and they did not disappoint. While some dishes were also available on the regular menu, others were created specifically for our night. The hostess, our waitress, and even the gentleman working the bar were all great conversationalists and helped enhance the experience. The attention to detail was 2nd to none, and we hope they continue exploring the possibilities of Vegan cuisine in the future.

28/06/2025: It used to be a great Italian place! Not anymore... the menu has changed and the food is ok. The staff were lovely though. Such a shame! Don't think I would be coming back here.

09/07/2025: We celebrated our 30th anniversary. We had a cozy table just the two of Us. This was our last night in Ireland. The staff was extremely friendly and polite. The food was phenomenal, outstanding. The staff even surprised us with our desserts. The next time we're in Ireland we will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this restaurant.

28/06/2025: I was in Hemmingway's last night with my wife for an unbooked and unplanned one-couse meal at 20:30. Michelle was doing front-of-house on her own: meet and greet, taking food and drinks orders, delivering food and drinks, clearing tables etc. for a total of eight tables! What a legend! So friendly and efficient. Plus the food was fab! I had the Seafood Paella and my wife had the Tempura Prawns. Both were yummy and excellent value for money. A well-deserved 5 stars! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

26/07/2025: Good food with big portion sizes and good attentive service, I would however recommend booking a table or at least calling to make sure that you can be seated on arrival (we went in summer).

19/07/2025: We had our intimate civil wedding at the school house. I honestly cannot rate it highly enough. Everything was absolutely perfect. The events director Laura made everything effortless from our first contact she responded quickly, allowed us make edits to our set menu, and organized our hotel rooms for guest with different needs. Everything was so well organized and communicated to us so we could relax on the day. On the actual day, the food and staff were amazing! Everyone especially the bartenders were fantastic taking care of orders and checking in regularly for refills and cleaning off tables. And while the actual wedding was perfect, the rooms themselves were wonderful and cozy for us and all of our guests. So comfy and spacious for getting ready. I would highly recommend the School House to anyone looking to celebrate their special occasion.

04/07/2025: An unforgettable dining experience. The food at Patrick Guilbaud is exquisite, each dish a work of art, perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying. The staff are exceptional: warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional. And Patrick himself is a gracious host whose passion for excellence shines through every detail. A true gem in Dublin’s culinary scene.

27/06/2025: We had the most delicious lunch today. As on all previous occasions, the service was excellent..Monsieur Robin welcoming and putting everyone at ease, Matthew from Poland taking care of us throughout, discovering a fellow Dub, Diego, who gave us wonderful information about each dish and the lovely lady from Rome, Sarah, and such good wine advice from Cedric, to name a few....Each course was so tasty and flavourful, the starters we ordered brought a taste of the Mediterranean directly to Dublin and the breads, as always of the highest standard. The fish main, halibut, so fresh , enhanced by the red mullet sauce, was wonderful, accompanied by the always decadent potato mash. Desserts ( beautifully presented and seasonal flavour bombs) and petit fours, accompanied by great coffee , made a perfect ending to another memorable lunch. Continues to be our favourite place to have a very special culinary experience in Dublin

26/07/2025: Darkey Kelly's is the connoisseur's dive bar. The tables are sticky, the people are friendly, the crowd is rowdy, and the music is fun. It's a bit touristy, being on the edge of Temple Bar and all, but that's a small nit if you know what you're getting into.

25/07/2025: Visited Darkey Kelly's on a recommendation from our food tour guide - we asked for good fish and chips and we found it! We visited around 7:30 on a Thursday and it was packed. Listened to some great Irish music, had a pint and delicious fish and chips. Good, quick service and a fun time!
