The best restaurants in Dublin

09/07/2026: Long story short: staff were great. Don’t eat here if you’re vegan or plant-based. Very limited options. Giving 5 stars because the staff did an excellent job of not wasting my time (which I appreciate). I called over the phone to confirm they have vegan options, and the Google Reviews said there were good vegan options available. But when I arrived, I discovered this is not the case. “Vegan options” means plain avocado toast or a bowl of leafy greens. There are so many restaurants in Ireland (even way out in the countryside) who offer excellent vegan options. Support those establishments instead.

01/07/2026: Lovely atmosphere, food was awesome, and staff were warm & friendly. Thanks for the great experience - and for re-setting my expectations. What I mean is, so many people in the US told me I would not find too much "good food" in Ireland and warned me I would have to eat Indian food or kebab if I wanted flavorful meals. We had the mussels & chips (broth was a touch too salty but still great!) along with the pasta & prawns. Irish soda bread was great as well.

21/07/2026: Bordering on inedible food. The menu reads well but does not deliver and service was slow. The waiter walked past our table that was covered with dirty dishes countless times without glancing over or removing them. I had the tomato tart and it was hideous. Soggy pastry and soggy tomato. The beef bourgeoisie was really bad. Chewy meat and just horrible to the point that I left most of it behind. Avoid, I cannot fathom how this place gets good reviews. Location is great but the book ends there.

20/07/2026: Chez Max is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a relaxed lunch in the heart of Dublin. We stopped in for lunch and came away impressed by both the quality of the food and the value, especially considering its central location. The sandwich special was outstanding. It was made with fresh, quality ingredients, generously filled and packed with flavour. It was the sort of simple dish that is elevated by good produce and careful preparation rather than unnecessary complexity. The portion size was generous and made for a thoroughly satisfying lunch. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with the feel of a traditional French bistro. It’s comfortable and unpretentious, making it an easy place to settle in for a leisurely meal while taking a break from sightseeing around the city. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive throughout our visit. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and ensured everything was delivered promptly without making us feel rushed. For anyone exploring central Dublin, Chez Max is well worth considering for lunch. Between the excellent sandwich special, quality ingredients, welcoming atmosphere and good value, it offers an enjoyable dining experience that exceeded our expectations. We’d happily return on a future visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a reliable, relaxed lunch in the city centre

07/08/2026: My son and daughter in law were married in 25 Fitzwilliam Place on 25th July. It was the most beautiful day. Stephen and his staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of the day went smoothly. The whole experience was exceptional. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Rose Swaine

26/07/2026: A true Irish pub with excellent traditional dishes (generous portions). Extremely professional and friendly staff, even the younger ones. Plus, in the evenings you can listen to live music, which adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

24/07/2026: The nicest staff you could meet. We were there on All Ireland Hurling Final Sunday and we were so well treated. We didn't have food.

13/06/2026: Nice donuts and coffee but interesting staff. Whispering and giggling like little girls. Would return to other locations.

15/05/2026: The coffee is excellent, always tastes great. Love their croissants and their bread. The staff are also very nice. Sandwiches are also excellent, haven't tried the pizza yet, but will definitely give it a go

05/08/2026: Dublin's only true Cocktail Bar. A must visit whether taking a break from nearby Grafton Street or for a pre or post Dinner Drink. Within the Westbury Hotel, the Sidecar has its own unique laid back comfortable athmosphere - with a hugely attentive team. Each has a deep knowledge of the cocktail menu - and can offer some off menu recommendations, For me it was a very impressive black russian and then a dirty martini which was truly my best ever. You get what you pay for - and yes Dublin's only true Cocktails do come with a true price tag also - but treat yourself. Definetly worth it. Sitting bar side where we had a top view of their skills we were treated to truly five-star service from Noa, Benito and Anna - each a credit to the Westbury Hotel. We will be back!!!

11/08/2026: Great venue,lively great crowd,live music and serves food which I didnt actually have but will go back again and try it as it looked delish.Has a rear small garden which was also lovely.

09/08/2026: Fantastic food with high quality local Irish ingredients, nice gastropub-atmosphere (including good selection of wine by the glass) and wonderful service! 🤩 Can especially recommend the starter «Dublin Smokies – house-smoked fish, créme fraiche, spring onion, leek, Dubliner cheese,cherry tomato» which was delicious!

08/08/2026: We walked by this place many times going to and from our hotel nearby. Last night (our last night in Ireland) we made a reservation and had one of the best meals of our two month stay in Europe! Great food and service in an authentic gastropub.

06/07/2026: The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we really appreciated their service. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed that our hot food was served in plastic bowls. We simply cannot understand why a restaurant would serve hot meals in plastic containers. It negatively affected our dining experience, and we hope the restaurant will reconsider this practice in the future.

28/07/2026: It's not a meal it's a food experience. Who knew cauliflower could taste so amazing.They only have a wine licence so in place of G&T we had white port and tonic, a revelation. Staff so friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend

28/07/2026: My husband and I and a friend had dinner at mamo, we were about 45 minutes to our our reservation; they were able to provide service although the kitchen was closed. We felt terrible for having been late and we did feel the staff did their best to accommodate us. The food (fish of the day and the lamb shoulders) met our expectations, the dessert (passionfruit) exceeded our expectations. I appreciated that i could taste the wine before committing and our hostess provided a great recommendation for me, a wine that is now part of my wine collection. Thank you all for the service provided and the tasty meals 😋.

20/07/2026: the original and the best … Donal & his crew run a great bar …I always feel welcome, whether I’m with pals or solo…and my family & friends from Limerick always enjoy the country feel when they visit (like this weekend to collect Liam) 🙏
