Chez Max
Dublin
21/07/2026: Bordering on inedible food. The menu reads well but does not deliver and service was slow. The waiter walked past our table that was covered with dirty dishes countless times without glancing over or removing them.
I had the tomato tart and it was hideous. Soggy pastry and soggy tomato.
The beef bourgeoisie was really bad. Chewy meat and just horrible to the point that I left most of it behind.
Avoid, I cannot fathom how this place gets good reviews. Location is great but the book ends there.
20/07/2026: Chez Max is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a relaxed lunch in the heart of Dublin. We stopped in for lunch and came away impressed by both the quality of the food and the value, especially considering its central location.
The sandwich special was outstanding. It was made with fresh, quality ingredients, generously filled and packed with flavour. It was the sort of simple dish that is elevated by good produce and careful preparation rather than unnecessary complexity. The portion size was generous and made for a thoroughly satisfying lunch.
The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with the feel of a traditional French bistro. It’s comfortable and unpretentious, making it an easy place to settle in for a leisurely meal while taking a break from sightseeing around the city.
Service was friendly, efficient and attentive throughout our visit. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and ensured everything was delivered promptly without making us feel rushed.
For anyone exploring central Dublin, Chez Max is well worth considering for lunch. Between the excellent sandwich special, quality ingredients, welcoming atmosphere and good value, it offers an enjoyable dining experience that exceeded our expectations. We’d happily return on a future visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a reliable, relaxed lunch in the city centre

The Woodford
Cork
09/08/2026: The food is very good and quite affordable. The service was a bit slow, but they take great care of their customers (they even brought us candy at the end of the service, a small gesture but a nice one). The atmosphere is magical. A truly beautiful Cork pub where we dined with live music (well, that's true). It happens pretty much everywhere, but I have to say that the guy playing, combined with the atmosphere, made the evening very enjoyable. The only complaint was that the air conditioning was on when it was twenty degrees Celsius; it was a bit chilly.
06/08/2026: Ive been drinking Beamish for almost 40 years. I was served by far the worst pint a ever got in my life. At least 30% of the pint was head, and trying to get the staff's attention to rectify it took a bit of time, as all 3 of them were engrossed in a private conversation, backs turned towards the customer's. This was at approximately 11.30 A.M. The Thomand bar on Malbro Street is by far the worst bar I've visited
Highly NOT RECOMMEND

Dax
Dublin
31/07/2026: You must visit DAX at least once. Then you will return again. The whole experience is exceptional. From the time you walk through the door you are warmly welcomed by all the staff. Their attention to dertail throughout the meal is 5 star. The food is succulent, and creatively prepared and presented , always satisfying every palate.
24/07/2026: Elevated, yet charming at the same time.
For food, wine, and service this restaurant punches above its weight.
I can compliment several things about this restaurant. Service is friendly and warm as others mentioned. The gastronomy is solid and enjoyable. They did a great job of accommodating our lactose allergy by offering tasty solutions instead of just omissions.
The prix fixe menu offers three courses (starter, principal plate, and dessert) with solid choices for each course. The foie gras was well sourced, decadent and beautifully complemented with a cerise sauce to counter the fat. Also, we had the duck and the lamb for our main courses. You can't go wrong with either. Portions were filling and proportionately larger since there were only three courses.
Also, wine was reasonably priced (at least by American standards). After consultation, we had a jammy syrah blend (Château Milhau Lacugue Les Truffières) that held up well to the foie gras and both the lamb and duck.
Total price for dinner, bottle of wine, and 12.5% was 276.64 Euros. If we return to Dublin, this is worth another visit.

Rouge
Galway
20/05/2026: The food is excellent. The waiters and waitresses are very pleasant and helpful.
The atmosphere is good.
17/05/2026: Wonderful French restaurant. Excellent food and a very good wine list at absolutely reasonable prices.
For a starter, we were treated to a surprise of four different small dishes—all delicious.
The duck was amazing, and the steak was perfect.
We had a wonderful evening. A must-visit in Galway.
Many thanks to the Rouge team. Best regards, Peter & Barbara

La Provence Restaurant
Athlone
13/08/2026: I ate at La Provence restaurant during a three day stay at the hotel. I have lots of dietary requirements and all were catered for well at both lunch and dinner times. My waiter, Thomas, was especially helpful. Each day he paid special attention to my restrictions and always met our table with a kindness and cheerfulness. It makes all the difference to customers having attentive, accommodating and friendly staff like Thomas.
08/08/2026: Excellent location, very friendly staff. Special mention to Carolin at breakfast who facilitated our elderly parents and even remembered our drinks order fron the previous morning.

Captain House Restaurant
Tullamore
26/07/2026: Perhaps one of the best restaurants in Tullamore, with a wide selection and friendly service. We had delicious meals for two evenings. Rarely have I had such well-prepared seafood tagliatelle; the next day, a rack of lamb (medium rare) that was finger-licking good. Highly recommended.
20/06/2026: Had a delicious meal at a fantastic restaurant. Friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere.

La Côte
Wexford
05/04/2026: Was here with a large party. Food was excellent.had the spring roll start and monkfish main. Both were some of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. Service was excellent as well
27/03/2026: La Côte Seafood Restaurant
Honestly, a complete disappointment. Based on the ratings, I expected quality food, but the reality was completely different. I ordered gnocchi and what I got was undercooked, almost raw in places, and absolutely unacceptable.
On top of that, the dish was overloaded with garlic to the point where it completely ruined the flavor – it was impossible to eat. I genuinely don’t understand how something like this can even leave the kitchen.
For me, a total fail. Definitely not recommended.

One Pico
Dublin
09/08/2026: The restaurant itself is lovely, the service is friendly, and the food is beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the visual appeal couldn't always disguise the lack of distinctive features typical of good gourmet cuisine. It simply lacked those special flavor accents that truly engage the palate. Salt was the dominant flavor. While we generally enjoy salty food, there should be some creativity in the use of other spices and aromatic combinations.
Technically, everything was well-executed, but that shouldn't be all there is to it in high-end gourmet cuisine. Without that "wow" factor and a surprising element for the senses, it remains bland. There's definitely room for improvement, especially considering the price range and compared to other restaurants in this category.
We were somewhat disappointed.
09/08/2026: Excellent food. The chef is inspired and it shows. Amazing staff.

Campagne
Kilkenny
28/07/2026: As a birthday treat my son took myself and my wife for lunch at this restuarant.
We arrived just at ppening time at 12.30pm
We got a very warm friendly welcome as we were brought to our table.
The lunch menu for the early bird lunch give you 3 choices for starters, mains and deserts.
Each of us enjoyed different choices for all 3 courses.
The level of detail taken by the chef was extrondery as all dishes were top class.
The level of attention that we received from our waitor was exceptional.
The table settings and comfort was also first class.
I would reccomend this resturant for a special occasion to be spoilt ..
We will be back!
31/05/2026: Really delicious . Best for us in Kilkenny
So happy with this spot
The interior is a bit funeral ish but the food and service makes up for it ! Keep it up.

l'Gueuleton
Dublin
17/08/2026: Was once our go to restaurant for brunch. We have had brunch here numerous times. Unfortunately they changed timing of brunch so some of their best dishes such as Croque monsieur and their eggs benedict, Best in dublin for me, are no longer available after 12. Such a shame. While the menu after 12 is fine it is just isnt the same on a saturday afternoon. Efficient service, depending on your waiters mood, still a nice ambience in a beautiful building. Spanish olives were nice. If a bit over seasoned. Crab roll (both had) was pretty but forgettable, not particularly satisfying. Though this was probably influenced by disappointment of not seeing the dishes we knew so well on the menu. Will still go back here but need a new venue for Brunch!
13/08/2026: The place in Dublin to order an onion soup. If it's not on the menu just ask the waiter.

Salt
Cork
09/08/2026: A local restaurant with a decent selection of fusion food. Also, specials available after 17:00.
It’s better to have a reservation.
Only 2 draught beers and a cider on tap.
03/08/2026: Really enjoyed brunch here. The menu is great! We went for a breakfast taco and huevos rancheros and would recommend both. Staff were extremely nice and helpful (despite being very busy!)
Lovely outdoor area which we preferred as it’s a bit loud inside.
Also had the French toast. It was good but nothing special.

Deja Vu
Malahide
06/05/2026: Oh dear. 4 cyclists. I bought the scones. 26e for 4 scones. Great scones. Very big and tasty but that is a shocking price.
20/04/2026: "Disappointing return visit today. I used to really enjoy coming here, but it feels like the maintenance has slipped—the tables and outdoor chairs are in need of a deep clean and some repair. I also found the portions to be quite small for the cost, and the coffee lacked flavor. It’s a shame to see such a nice spot lose its spark; I hope the management takes a look at these details to bring the quality back up."
