13/08/2026: We spent a little over a week touring London, Inverness, Dublin and Sixmilebridge on a family trip. During the entire trip, the best meal we had was at The Abbey Tavern…by a large margin…and our second best meal was at The Abbey Tavern. Incredible food, excellent, friendly service and even reasonably priced. Save room for dessert…they are fantastic. Real authentic Irish Tavern. If I had a complaint, it’s that the kitchen closes at 6:00 pm, so we couldn’t go there a third and fourth time for dinner. But, if you eat a late lunch there, you probably won’t need dinner. Go, to see Quinn Abbey, then stay for lunch at The Abbey Tavern.

15/09/2026: Stopped here for a spot of lunch on a busy Saturday. Our food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. This was my first time having Irish stew and it did not disappoint!! The flavour was rich and you could tell it was good quality ingredients. Meat wasn’t too chewy and practically melted in the mouth. My partner had a burger and fries which he really enjoyed. I also loved dipping a few of his fries into my stew!! Would come again :)

23/08/2026: It's a very cozy place, but they have a rule that you can only order alcoholic drinks if you order a meal. Which doesn't make sense because you drink more than you eat. So if you're thinking of going out for drinks, this really isn't the place.

30/05/2026: There’s a reason why this is a 5 Star resort and they earn every day. The service was impeccable, staff were friendly and helpful, grounds were glorious and the room was spacious. We did the falconry class which was an amazing experience while being educational. I didn’t get to golf, but the course looked breathtaking. The location is a little remote, but the food and drinks on property were spot on!

14/05/2026: Colette and the entire team at Monks were kind, welcoming, and friendly. The hotel appeared updated and was comfortable. The restaurant served a great fish pie and some delicious salty oysters.

16/08/2026: Awesome place! Finally had some really good food! there is a playground for the kids in the back that was nice. Really nice and clean baby changing area. Nice servers. Live music. Perfect experience!!!

21/06/2026: In Vaughans in liscannor today for dinner the staff are lovely the food was okay, The Guinness tap not working right cooler gone ,the other drinks not great either, very disappointed with it, went to the pub next door for a drink,such a difference with the drink,

17/08/2026: Very dirty, sticky tables, unfriendly service. We were given a timeframe for when the table should be free again, as we hadn't made a reservation. When we then went to order, no server appeared. We left the restaurant.

06/09/2026: Friendly hostess and good chat with other patrons. Food was the best we had in Ireland even after a 10 day trip!

16/08/2026: A lovely Irish pub with live music and authentic decor! Food was good - fish and chips and Sunday Roast Beef! Service was a bit slow as they were busy. Enjoyed the experience 😌

15/08/2026: We ate dinner there; the fried calamari was very good and a generous portion. The seafood pasta was good, but there wasn't quite enough seafood. The service was very attentive.

16/05/2026: A lively restaurant. A constant flow of people. The service is efficient and, despite the stress, manages everything with ease and appears relaxed. Despite the hustle and bustle, we were seated at the bar for a few minutes without a reservation. Here we could browse the menu and order our first drinks. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious.

06/05/2026: Perfectly adequate meal for us who are not geared towards golf in a golf town. Server was new and eager to help.

18/08/2026: A very good experience. There was a bit of a queue at the entrance, but a server managed the waiting list very efficiently. We waited about twenty minutes before being seated. The food arrived very quickly, and the traditional music started around 9:00 PM. Great atmosphere and good food. The pub is full of eclectic decorations.

15/08/2026: A proper pub. We stopped here for a very late lunch on a day tour with the Galway Tour Company. They seated us with other people so the entire bus could fit, and it turned out to be an interesting addition to the trip getting to interact with other tourists. Food was pretty good, and prices were reasonable. Service was very fast!
