The best restaurantsof irish in Dublin

28/05/2025: Myself and my wife celebrated our civil ceremony here, after searching for a few different places and finally deciding on BANG after reading reviews and viewing the restaurant. From the beginning, I had a great feeling about our reservation as it was clear they cared very much about providing an amazing experience. We booked the Scott Talon room for a group of 12 people and 2 babies. All the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The private room was perfect, set up to host the occasion perfectly. We were provided with some complimentary prosecco on arrival. The chefs even catered to a specific dessert request we had that was not on the set menu. Throughout the whole evening, the staff were always available, and you could tell that they were extremely committed to making sure we had an amazing dinner. I can't recommend them enough if you are looking to book a private room for a specific event. And the value for money was great. The food was amazing, and at a very reasonable price compared to all of the other restaurants we had looked at.

26/05/2025: A group of 12 of us had a memorable afternoon lunch in Bang last Friday 23rd May. We were in one of their private dining rooms - for which they didn't charge. Food was lovely, with a good choice. We had our own server who was quick, efficient, and really friendly. The room itself is large, airy, and roomy enough for mingling away from the table. There was no rushing us out and we stayed into the early evening with no problems. The full bar gave us a variety of drink options. Altogether a very special afternoon. Thanks to Carmel and all the staff there. We will be back for sure.

We ordered the prawn risotto for the starter, well balanced with subtle tanginess 5/5 Baked chicken … so soft , well marinated 5/5 Lamb dish with mashed potatoes… BEST we had during our whole trip. Crème Brûlée perfect again Service staff is awesome . Had the honor to meet the humble chef and owner , Arslon We hope this restaurant gets a Michelin soon Loved it every bit.

26/05/2025: This restaurant is always packed for good reason! Make a reservation to avoid being disappointed, they have very limited seated. We shared the scallop and pork belly starter- amazing! Portion size is meant for one person, but it was a good taster for both of us. The lamb and short rib entrees were delicious! Would definitely come back again!

05/06/2025: One of my very favourite restaurants, I was there at the tasting menu this week (first Tuesday of every month) Irish Wagyu beef, stuffed courgette flowers, prawn and lobster donut! So creative, as beautiful as it is delicious, but still a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere- great value for such food- thanks Russell, Dave, Ava & team!

06/06/2025: There's not much that can be said about John Kavanagh The Gravediggers that hasn't been said before. I knew the Guinness would be perfect, the service welcoming and the atmosphere transportive. What I didn't know was that the food would be exceptional. I had Ciaran's Coddle, the chef's take on an Irish classic, which took the form of a hearty bacon stew. This is the type of pub that I think will last forever. I can't wait to be back.

05/06/2025: My wife, in-laws and myself visited this place based on a recommendation from an immigration officer at the airport. The food and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for—an authentic local experience. The coddle came highly recommended, and it was absolutely perfect. The prices were a bit on the higher side, but we had planned for that as part of our vacation. We highly recommend stopping here, and don’t miss the walk through the cemetery behind the restaurant—it’s rich with history and well worth your time.

02/06/2025: Beautiful surroundings, very friendly staff. I give ten stars for the coffee, the coffee is simply delicious. The food is very nice to look at. I recommend the crab sandwich. The onion rigs are absolutely amazing. If you are in Dalkey, come for breakfast/lunch.

04/06/2025: This pub was recommended to us by our tour guide and oh my God, she was right. The atmosphere is amazing, there is no music just people talking vibing and drinking. It’s so simple but so magical at the same time. I’m not even the biggest fan of beer but I had two Guinnesses which together with the toast tasted very good. The guys working at the bar are the nicest people we met in Ireland. Please do yourself a favour and go there 💚🤍🧡

08/06/2025: We came in here initially for some dinner, knowing we'd probably be pushing our luck as it was 7pm on a Saturday. We walked in and it was rammed, and asked at the bar about getting a table to be told by a very stressed man that he had 25 people to look after and basically flapped us out the bar. The music was good though so after finding dinner elsewhere we decided to chance it again later in the evening about 8:30pm. It was still super busy but we got served relatively quickly at the bar (and service with a smile here, grumpy man was running round the pub still it seemed!) and listened to some great music. Pints were reasonably priced too. Overall, great atmosphere and really good live music, but the service left little to be desired.

16/06/2025: I have been coming to Schoolhouse for many years, and always come back. Rooms are nice and cozy and I love the fact that they are named after Irish writers. The pub/restaurant is wonderful with helpful and friendly staff, I never miss their fish goujons and their house salad with a good glass of red wine! Even better, if in the garden!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional. The dinner was beautifully set up, the food was delicious and received so many compliments from our guests, and the atmosphere was just perfect—elegant yet relaxed. The guest rooms were equally impressive: charming, comfortable, and spotless. Everyone felt very well looked after, and the whole experience ran smoothly from start to finish. We’re so grateful to the entire team for making our special day even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone planning an event or simply looking for a great place to stay in Dublin!

18/05/2025: A great Irish pub. We really enjoyed our visit. We had dinner outside in the sun and then moved inside to have another drink, watch some golf and listen to the live music. Food was really good (particularly the bangers and mash) and the service was friendly!

04/06/2025: It's been a long while (years)since I've stumbled upon this traditional Irish pub. The atmosphere was quite, as it was not busy... everything I would have imagined. what was very cool was the mirror partitions that separated the bar stools & just sitting between them taking in the history with a pint.. The bartender that served me is still in some of the current photo's I see on line, so judging from that I'm guessing the palace bar is very while grounded with tradition. I wouldn't miss this place if I were you.
