06/07/2026: While waiting, I watched a staff member handle and serve non-gluten-free food, and then immediately turn around and handle my gluten-free food using the exact same hand no glove. What makes this completely unacceptable is that this happened directly in front of a woman (black shirt) If I'm not mistaken, she's the manager or incharge. She literally have zero sense about gluten free I repeat zero sense, she needs to be trained properly. If you are celiac or have a severe gluten intolerance, please avoid this place. Their staff lacks basic allergen training, and management clearly does not care about food safety protocols. I will not be returning.

05/07/2026: Called in for food before a concert was very busy but did not wait too long for food once ordered. The good was lovely had the Guinness Pie great portion sizes really enjoyed. The staff both behind the bar and table servers were very pleasant and friendly. The tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as people left which was great. Would recommend and would call in again when in the area.

04/07/2026: Awful experience. We came in at 11:40am, it was not busy, it took 15 minutes to order at the bar and then another hour for our food to come out. We got the Guinness pie and curry chips. It should not have taken so long for hot chips. When it did come the chips were disappointing and the pie was horrid, we picked at the chips and didn't eat the pie after tasting it, then we left. I would not recommend coming here for food.

31/07/2026: Lovely cafe/bakery. We had coffee & cakes (huge selection) which were fab 😋 but I spotted some lunch plates and they also looked great. A lovely spot and I would recommend 👍🏼

28/06/2026: Absolutely dreadful place. Ordered a drink at the start waited 45 mins to come over . The waitress clearly could see there was no drinks on the table and juts continued to stare as us! The food was bang average and very pricey. Never again will I come to this place

27/06/2026: We have visited this restaurant several times, and this time we came to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We chose the set menu for two, which included a starter, a main course, and a bottle of wine. The goat cheese salad and the spicy chicken wings were absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the main courses were disappointing. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, while the pork belly was partly rubbery and quite difficult to chew. On the positive side, the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. The restaurant itself is also very cozy, especially during the summer when you can sit by the open terrace windows and enjoy the atmosphere. Overall, while the starters and service were outstanding, we hope the quality of the main courses can be improved, as we have always enjoyed visiting this restaurant.

01/07/2026: We celebrated my sister's hen party on Saturday on the Canal Boat Restaurant and hired the boat for 2 hours. It was such a brilliant experience from start to finish and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Big shout out to Jaya who was there to answer all my emails to organise the event. She was also there on the day and was such a pleasure to deal with. The whole team were so helpful and friendly. The Canapes served were delicious. We hooked our music up to the sound system via Bluetooth and we all had a ball, an experience not to be forgotten and it's all down to the team. If you are planning a private event, don't think twice, book the Canal Boat Restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

05/06/2026: Wonderful! We went to celebrate our anniversary and the food was delicious. I'd like to mention that all the staff were so kind and attentive, especially Eliana who spent the whole evening looking after us. Thank you so much, guys, you're the best! ♥️♥️

27/06/2026: The service really makes this place! You get greeted and taken to a table which is so lovely. Table service even if you just want drinks. Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming! Also a really good price for a pint in Dublin!

30/05/2026: Had a Jameson mixed drink, think he forgot the whiskey. Zero smell, zero taste but well paid. Went to the club on the opposite site and ordered the same drink. Hypothesis proved. Charming pub though and friendly server. But 10€ for a drink that tastes of nothing but ginger ale is a joke.

28/08/2025: Really bad drop off from this place. Was previously my favourite space for lunch in Dublin. Unfortunately with massive price increases and a drop in quality it’s not worth it. Ordered the spicy Cajun sandwich and noticed they stopped putting any sauce on it. 12€ for a dry chicken and cheese sandwich is frankly a rip off

28/08/2025: I will never visit this place again and you should not, either. However, if you decide to go there, you should definitely double-check your receipt here before paying. First I was charged 25.25 instead of 11.60 but realized only after swiping my card. Then they initiated a refund and charged my card again with the right amount (11.60), so I thought it was OK after all. I only realized on the next day (when the refund arrived) that they decided to "keep the change" and refund only 25.00.

24/05/2026: We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea here with family! The service was fabulous, as was the atmosphere. The sweets were especially delicious, and we also really enjoyed the scones/banana bread.
