27/02/2025: Food available is delicious and I visited them one evening about 1 hr after kitchen was closed and I asked could I possibly get even a toasted sandwich and the woman behind the counter went out of her way and made me one absolutely brilliant service and staff. Absolutely worth a visit for the food available 😋

22/03/2025: Recently brought my family (12) to celebrate a birthday. We waited 55 minutes for our meal. No one approached us while waiting to say there was a delay. When I asked about the delay, we were told it was because we didn't order starters - starters take priority and the waiter told me it wasn't up to him it was up to the chef, again no apology. I emailed the owner, no reply. Will not be returning or recommending. This is not just 1 bad review - it is 12.

22/02/2025: Good restaurant with good food however the food dishes are getting smaller. See photos same chicken salad a year ago and now. No walnuts or mango this time even though they are on the menu.

04/03/2025: Fantastic breakfast, brunch and lunch spot!! They’re menu is extensive and the food is delicious. Some items are a bit overpriced (like the orange juice) but overall not too bad. The pastries and cakes in the front case are very good. Whenever I have visitors, I bring them here!

03/03/2025: At home I make homemade tomato soup and my other house occupants rate same. Yesterday I cycled from home to Malahide and back (72km). On my way back home thru Sandymount I was in need of some good sustenance. I called into Brownes, a pleasant place. I asked "do you have any soup today?" And the answer was a positive "yes, we have nice tomato and basil soup". Well the soup was lovely and hot, in fact I reckon it was the best 🍅 and basil soup, I've eaten to date! Take a deserved bow Brownes' chef.

07/03/2025: Went to Knights Bar for lunch on 6th. March. To say that it was a disappointment is an understatement. I ordered the chicken rigatoni - big mistake. The dish consisted of a bowl of very dry pasta (no hint of a sauce) with a couple of lumps of chicken on top. Having tried a couple of pieces I decided that it was inedible. When the server asked if I wanted the contents boxed, I declined as I would only be bringing it home to put it in the bin. I also had the chowder to start which was quite good but served in a very shallow bowl - resulting in a minute portion being served. While the bar itself is very impressive and the waiting staff were competent this did not make up for the poor quality and value of food served. I would not be returning nor would I recommend Knights Bar to others.

22/02/2025: We were staying at Clontarf Castle for our final night and really enjoyed our time at Knights Bar. It was steadily busy and still the service was wonderful. The staff were all very friendly, and we especially appreciated Conor and Elaine. They both made our evening wonderful and offered up great recommendations. The Guinness was great and the burger was too. They even got me a scone well after the normal tea time. Glad we had some time to spend at this bar. Well done!

10/03/2025: Very friendly, excellent food,clean and the toilet is always clean. Lovely for family dining or just meeting up with friends for a drink or a coffee.
