21/03/2025: Esta es la segunda vez que he estado en Locks... Siempre iré aquí cuando esté en Dublín. La ubicación en lo que parece ser una zona residencial tranquila cerca de un arroyo o pequeño río es agradable. El restaurante está en un espacio genial y acogedor. El menú no es enorme, pero la comida es deliciosa.

22/01/2026: I was last here in January of 1999, and from the photos, it seems like it is exactly was it was then, and countless years before. A wonderful place to have a drink or a pint.

18/01/2026: Got a pint served with a person's lipstick still on the glass. I informed the barman he just smirked at me without an apology. Would not recommend this place. 18/01/26 15:15hrs

11/01/2026: Was there last night with my husband, we went to hear a really good group of musicians play. Enjoyed it but we encountered three of the most grumpiest barmen ever, no smiles, no chit-chat, nothing, sour faces instead, I can understand one but seriously three of them!! Place was quiet and we were sitting at the bar, but not once did they ask us did we want a refill, we could have sat there all night with empty glasses and they wouldn't have noticed or cared. It was 9.50 for the smallest glass of wine ever. For those reasons we won't be back, we left after a while and went down to the Harold House, much nicer, good music, friendly barmen and cheaper drink!!

14/11/2025: This is a place we always go to. The service is quick and friendly, the food and prices are standard, and the pub is spacious enough for all kinds of events. We live nearby and love coming here.

17/03/2026: We were really looking forward to enjoying some great Irish food on St. Patrick’s Day, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We were seated quickly and placed our order for both appetizers and entrees right away. The appetizers came out promptly and were delicious, but after that, everything went downhill. We waited an extremely long time for our main meals, asking multiple times and speaking with several different staff members. Meanwhile, tables around us were seated, served, and finished their meals while we were still waiting. We were given several explanations, such as the kitchen being busy or delays due to ordering appetizers, but it became clear that our order had never been placed. After asking for help multiple times, another server finally stepped in and our food was eventually brought out. Very frustrating experience, especially on a day we were excited to celebrate.

03/01/2026: My recent experience in the Step Inn was very unsatisfactory and uncomfortable. The host, Sarah, was very rude and dismissive. I didn’t have a reservation and asked could I be seated for a main course. The restraunt was full but she said she could seat me at a table for 2 to the right of the main desk. I agreed and was brought to the table and placed my order. Over the next few minutes I realised I was seated outside the doors to the kitchen. It was very busy and resembled Dublin airport. I spoke to Sarah and outlined my discomfort and she replied “ I don’t normally put people there and if I knew you had a problem, I would have moved you”. Can honestly say that the Sandyford House or the Golden Ball deliver serious customer service, perhaps the Step Inn new owners will pay attention.

17/03/2026: Nice place.Food was good but portions were small, we left hungry. Not the greatest value for money; if I remember correctly it was €8.20 for a pint of Guinness. Service was good, quick and professional.

16/02/2026: Be warned staff will overcharge you here. Came here on Saturday night for a friends' leaving night and the place is nice, staff are friendly. However I ordered two pints when I got there, which was €13.50, so €6.75 per pint. Later on in the night I got one pint and I was charged €8.50. I didn't check the card machine before tapping my phone, and didn't notice until the next day, otherwise I would have said it. Either this place is using some kind of variable pricing, or the barman added a tip without asking me, or just simply overcharged me, because in what world is a pint of beer €8.50, not sure Temple Bar would even be that expensive. I tried to find an email address for the bar to say this to them directly without posting it here but they don't seem to have one. The chicken goujons were ok but I only got three small ones, not great for the price. The DJ will also deafen you when he starts, and once he starts all chance of conversation with your friends goes out the window.

06/07/2025: I had the fish & chips special, which was delicious, along with a glass of cava. The two went great together. Also tried a mango / passion fruit tart, which was amazing! The place is cozy and the service is great. Had a lovely time!

04/07/2025: I saw the summer special for fish and chips and a glass of cava for €26 and decided to try it. The service from when we got there was great. We placed our order and the food was out in under 10 minutes. 2 cods were on the plate but I’d say the star of the dish was the tartar sauce never had anything like it and the fish was super crispy. 10/10 would recommend and the cava pairing worked really well!

21/03/2026: Best french toast Ive ever had. Order the pecan butter + banana french toast. It was so good. I also had the waffles but the french toast hands down was the winner dish for me. The service was quick & friendly.

12/03/2026: Menu quite small but food was lovely. Pasta of the day was delicious. Prices quite reasonable.
