The walls covered with local artworks ad "things of interest".The meet and greet was prompt, friendly and efficient.Service quick but not rushed and the menu, although limited covered food choices for most tastes and palates. Didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive and it was PIPING hot!!...something that doesn't happen too often. We had the burgers ( homemade) and tasty. Will definitely return if in the area

24/11/2024: Lovely atmosphere in a great setting. They have excellent treats and desserts so I would recommend this place for that. The food was only fair on this visit for us but may return to try some alternative options on the menu as other food options I could see looked good. I tried one of the specials for the day - which was the chicken goujon wrap. It was very basic - chicken, mayo, lettuce. For the price, I would have just expected it to have a bit more going on. Some sauce, relish, tomatoes or house slaw etc.

22/11/2024: We only popped in for a drink, and ended up staying the whole evening. It is a fabulous pub the music was great, staff brilliant and we met Vinnie who made us feel so welcome he was brilliant and such a laugh we really enjoyed ourselves. Mandy and Rod
10/11/2024: Warm welcome nice cosy surroundings and spoilt for choice on whisky.The staff are efficient but not to the point they don't have time to chat. Live music is a must to see. The place has character (and as certificates state) nationally recognised for it. The frontage is well kept and you won't miss it as you walk around the town. Take time go in, sit down and I'm sure you'll enjoy.

27/10/2024: Cuando mi marido y mi hijo vieron esto en el menú, tuvimos que reservar (ninguno de los dos había visto The Quiet Man). Fuimos un domingo por la noche, y la reserva era sin duda recomendable. Pat Cohans tiene la sensación de un pub o salón tradicional. El personal era muy amable y la comida era increíble. Aún mejor podríamos traer a nuestro perro. (Nos sorprendió la poca cantidad de lugares en Irlanda que permiten que para la cena, comer dentro). Mucha gente sentirá que este es un lugar turístico, pero la calidad de la comida y el servicio demuestra que este es un restaurante que quiere mantenerse por sí solo (y no por su vínculo con la película)

15/11/2024: Without doubt the best Chowder ever but beware it’s quite substantial!! We then had Bacon & cabbage which was soooo good but I couldn’t finish all my mash hence no desert!! Just lovely wholesome traditional Irish food a must for any visitor. Thanks

10/12/2024: Stayed in abbeyglen hotel on Sunday 8th December, from the moment we arrived, it was 5star treatment, accommodation, staff,food,restaurant, and the session in the bar,brilliant music 🎶 and singing, continued success lads.

12/11/2024: Just an FYI they don't serve food during this time of year as I discovered earlier. I'd say the prices are great, cheapest Guinness on my trip, but the service is brutal. Definitely a place where if you live nearby you're going to have a way different experience. But as someone who isn't local, it was very awkward.

After going up to Diamond Hill we came to eat here because it had been recommended to us, and we ate well!!!
I don't give all the stars to the food because the pork belly was a little tough and that has to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, but everything was spectacularly good.
I will return without a doubt and I will recommend it!

11/11/2024: A group of us visited The Moycarn Lodge at the weekend. We were there for one night and had dinner and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The rooms were spacious, warm and comfy. We had a lovely view of the river from our bedroom. The bar and restaurant are ambient and cosy. They had a decent cocktail list. The food was delicious, portions were huge! Everyone was really happy overall. I'd recommend this venue for a special occasion or a party with friends and family. Located just a few minutes off the motorway, super easy to find. A hidden gem!

The perfect hotel to get to know the entire area near Ballinasloe: both Clonmacnoise, Athlone and Galway.
Wonderful and extremely hospitable care.
The only drawback would be that it is clearly advisable to go with a private vehicle: it is necessary if you are visiting to see the entire region; Although if it is simply for a few days of rest in the hotel, it is not so necessary either.
