01/10/2026: Best seafood chowder soup ever!!!!!! Amazing place, great ambient, best food I did try in Ireland, I could not recommend this enough! Everything was so tasty, chowder soup, garlic mushroom, salmon..... wish I could repeat!

Brian went out of his way to organise everything and ready looked after us for the weekend. The food, Drinks and Service was absolutely amazing, Thank you so much John and Karen McDonagh 😀

07/06/2026: We've had an amazing stay in this beautiful and authentic Castle, I can't thank you enough. Brian and all the staff are the real definition of "warm and welcoming", rooms are cozy and comfortable, restaurant with truly high quality menu. I wish we could stay longer than one night. 21/10/2026: Really nice place! Great location, right in the heart of Clarinbridge next to the river. There is plenty of parking space as well. ​We were a group of 6 adults and 3 kids for lunch and they accommodated us very well. The menu is great with good options. The service was fantastic and the food was very good!

07/09/2026: The quintessential pub, with its cozy atmosphere and inviting nooks. Arrive early if you want a chance of getting a seat during the live music. A must-see in Clifden.

17/10/2026: Stopped in for a quick lunch. Friendly welcome, seated immediately. Quick service and food arrived promptly. Shame it wasn’t up to much. Soggy batter (with yellow food colouring/turmeric?) on the fish n chips (€20) - wasn’t great. Chips couldn’t done with an extra few mins in the fryer - soggy and pale. Prices for kids meals and lunchtimes sandwiches good. Staff were nice and friendly, but food needs sharpened up.

26/06/2026: What an excellent stay we had at the Ardagh Hotel. The rooms were excellent, the food and service was fantastic. We had some complexity getting taxis home from Clifton and their receptionist came in without asking and picked us up. Really well run Hotel. Highly recommended!

06/06/2026: Loved our stay here so much we extended it. So relaxing from the moment we arrived. Staff are all excellent warm, attentive but always understated. You feel very well looked after but you are always given space. Everything is spotless, decor is beautiful...a lot of thought and care has gone into it. A relaxing inviting lounge area, a big turf fire, eclectic mix of artwork, and interesting ornaments. A beautiful dining area with views over the sea, and a delicious dinner menu made for the most romantic memorable meal. Our dog was welcomed and we were never made to feel it was an inconvenience. Similarly the place is not overrun by pets and wouldn't disturb others. Can't wait to to go back ...thank you to you all

22/08/2026: Avoid 'Chowder' it's a potatoe chowder. Loads Halved Potatoes and green beans floating in cream. Two pieces of Fish. Dearest I've ever paid at €13.50.
