The best restaurantsof irish in Galway

11/03/2025: I don't understand the draw to this pub, the bartender barely spoke a word to anyone, drinks were expensive and it just was not welcoming at all. I've been all over Ireland and truly this was the least welcoming pub I've been in. If they have food, I didn't see any nor was I offered a menu for any, Just Taytos and Pringles hanging on the wall. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I wouldn't return.

15/03/2025: This is a delightful, even slightly quirky restaurant. The staff were courteous and friendly. Service was very efficient. For me as a vegetarian, it was one of the best meals out I have had in a long time. We also had breakfast the next morning and again the vegetarian option was excellent. I felt that the vegetarian menu was imaginative and delicious.

11/03/2025: We stopped in for a quick lunch on our way west and were very very happily surprised at how good the food was, how interesting the menu is, and how good the service was.

02/03/2025: Very deceiving from the outside, a really huge and most interesting pub (even found a wise man and a shepherd from a large crib of some Christmas past. Friendly and efficient service, and a sandwich that combines onion and banana (yes I did). Great spot.

17/03/2025: A luxury authentic old world hotel with superb personalised service! Reminds me of the Ritz's, I visited 20 years ago which had a similar feel with the quality of service. Rooms, views, gardens, food, classical piano at dinner and further musical entertainment in bar after dinner. In a world where hotels are more efficient than personal, this hotel stands alone. From the lovely lady in reception to service staff, the experience is warm, inviting and genuine. The rooms are not your typical instead lots of character and spotlessly clean. One feels really taken care of and this is due to the attentive owners who are present everywhere. This is so rare and it ripples throughout to the happy staff. Thank you Brian and Abbeyglen staff for a beautiful fun experience. We will be back soon!

27/10/2024: Cuando mi marido y mi hijo vieron esto en el menú, tuvimos que reservar (ninguno de los dos había visto The Quiet Man). Fuimos un domingo por la noche, y la reserva era sin duda recomendable. Pat Cohans tiene la sensación de un pub o salón tradicional. El personal era muy amable y la comida era increíble. Aún mejor podríamos traer a nuestro perro. (Nos sorprendió la poca cantidad de lugares en Irlanda que permiten que para la cena, comer dentro). Mucha gente sentirá que este es un lugar turístico, pero la calidad de la comida y el servicio demuestra que este es un restaurante que quiere mantenerse por sí solo (y no por su vínculo con la película)

15/03/2025: So disappointed, my starter was brie, ice cold in the middle. Mains were disappointing, potatoes burnt,.I got the brill which was fine, however the sauce was tasteless and veg overdone. My husbands duck was fatty. Our chips came after we had nearly finished our mains, in fairness they took the price off them off the bill. As the place got busier the service disapproved, had to ask for our drinks several times. It was the same waiting for our bill, asked twice and they handed us the wrong one Won't be going back .

08/03/2025: Fantástico almuerzo de pescado John Dory, verduras a la parrilla, patata bebé, puré de zanahoria y deliciosa salsa todo sin gluten y muchas otras ofertas en el menú para satisfacer al cliente sin gluten. Postre de sorbete y pera escalfada... Devine ... . . también para notar la provisión de pan tostado sin gluten que en realidad sabía bien ... el servicio era excelente y simplemente apreciaba verdaderamente la consideración de aquellos con necesidades alimentarias particulares. Volveré al 100%.

09/02/2025: Disappointing Seating Experience As a group of Indian customers, we’ve visited this restaurant five times, including for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unfortunately, every time we’ve been seated at the high table near the restroom, which is an uncomfortable and undesirable location. While we initially thought this might be accidental, it has happened repeatedly, even when other better tables were available. This consistent experience has left us feeling unwelcome and undervalued as customers. We enjoy the food and have returned multiple times because of that, but the seating arrangements have made our visits less enjoyable. We hope the restaurant can address this issue and ensure all customers are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of their background.

02/02/2025: I feel sorry to write this review, but I do so in the hope that they will improve. The staff, especially the girls, were amazing—very kind and welcoming. However, the food was very disappointing. I received two very thin slices of beef (and I mean very thin), a quarter of an onion, a single 2mm slice of celeriac (which seemed more like decoration), and a small portion of potatoes that were raw and crunchy—I honestly couldn’t even tell what they were supposed to be. We had also 3 x 0,33 beers and all together paid bit less than 70. euros. Not worth, honestly reading all that different reviews i think it must have been different chef and i hope he will improve.
