15/04/2026: Good gluten free options in a town where it is a little trickier to get a GF meal. V helpful staff, cute decor, and a damn good lamb dinner! Glad to report that thatch cottages are much cosier, warmer & dryer on the inside than they look from the outside, too.

Great whisky selection. Best Guinness I had so far. Music on point with folk irish songs.
Clifden and Lowry's knows how to welcome people.
10/05/2026: Good traditional Irish food.
Nice live music in the evening, of course.
Be warned, it's not easy to get a table.

03/05/2026: What an Amazing Pub to have couple of Pints and Amazing Food. We Ordered Mild Chicken Curry with Basmati rice and Naan 😍😍😍😍; Prawns Scampi😍😍 ; Vegan Red Past😍😍; Chicken Goujons😍😍. Every thing was just amazing and mouth watering food. Best was for spice level they gave us Sriracha Sauce and made the best 👌.

14/04/2026: Nice place, typical fisherman's decor. Classic but tasty and very generous portions. The men's toilets outside smell terrible and give a bad first impression. But don't let that put you off. The Guinness Zero is nice and cold 😉

13/04/2026: This was a great cottage to stay in. The location was quiet and tranquil. We enjoyed our stay. Brain and his wife were great hosts. I would recommend the stay. Great views of the bay from the front porch.

Service was fast & pleasant. Ate at lunchtime.

02/04/2026: A great place for a dinner in the Balinasloe area. We went for a lunch and the staff were excellent, food was speedy and great quality. I know Balinasloe isn't exactly a bustling city but if you're in the area it's a beautiful stop off and I'd recommend you have lunch here for sure!

We were served by a young friendly gent, Eamonn, who was welcoming, helpful in suggesting dishes on the menu and a credit to the team. The atmosphere was relaxed in the lovely fresh air, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. A perfect spot to enjoy afternoon lunch in the sunshine. We’ll definitely be back.
