09/12/2025: One of the best Gastro pubs in Ireland. Food is exceptional, staff are very friendly and its always welcoming.

24/11/2025: Excellent small town pub you can rely on! Delicious GF vegan shepherds pie. Best gin and tonic we’ve had as well. Friendly staff!

19/10/2025: Really lovely country pub. Visited with the Irish Subaru Drivers Club as a final stop in our Doolough valley run. The food was immensely tasty, and there's a huge amount of room in the back for dining, as well as a huge terrace overlooking the beautiful scenery as a smoking area. I got roast lamb and spuds, and it was absolutely beautiful. Well worth the spin.

28/10/2025: Terrible experience. We went to this pub just after church time on a Sunday. The lady at the bar was really unfriendly. We order two Irish coffee… well the were really bad. It seems like juste burnt coffee without any whisky inside, I have to admit she puts coca powder on top. I will definitely never go back to this pub again.

01/01/2026: Always such friendly faces. Came here for lunch on New Years Day. We were looked after so well with our little baby. Delicious food and fantastic service. We love coming here when we visit family in Athenry.

19/11/2025: Amazing place - staff were great! Fish and chips were the best we’ve had on our trip with homemade batter! The meat pie was incredible! Highly recommended stop!

14/12/2025: The food was delicious, the Chowder was one of the best I've ever had, the beef eye steak was amazing, everything was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic, there are TVs to watch the games and they have a terrace upstairs.

13/11/2025: Our stay at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel was wonderful. The castle has so much character, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout our visit. One of the absolute highlights was the evening talk. Hearing the history of the castle and the surrounding area brought the whole experience to life and made the stay feel even more meaningful. It was engaging, fun, and something that set Abbeyglen apart from any other stay we have had. We would love to return on our next trip to the area.

13/11/2025: Unbelievable experience! Management & staff are so good! November 14th, 2025: I need to say more as I didn't do it justice with the brief comment above. We simply loved this place. If we were ever to visit Ireland again, Abbeyglen Castle Hotel would be on the TOP of our list of places to stay!

27/10/2025: Cozy pub/restaurant with a great view. The mussels were fresh and delicious, the seafood chowder was creamy and rich, and the crispy buttermilk chicken goujons were also really good.

09/08/2025: Don't let the rather bland exterior fool you as behind the facade is a 5 star family run hotel and restaurant serving some of the finest food I have tasted. Lovely to relax in the Green room with lovely views after your meal. Pet friendly a real deal maker!!

14/12/2025: A bit out of town but well worth the walk. Lovely quiet location with amazing views. All of the staff were so pleasant to deal with. Very happy with my experience in this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

07/12/2025: The place is very well located, views are awesome, and service was grand. We had roast beef, fish and chips and mussels. Portions are big, food was ok but we were expecting it to be better, I would go back there for the atmosphere but not for the food.

04/12/2025: We called in for a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and had a lovely warm welcome. The food was tasty and plentiful, service efficient and friendly. The local beer was delicious. It was busy but not packed so a nice relaxed atmosphere.
