Always great atmosphere and fantastic live music. We love going there off season, also nice for drink or hot whiskey after a walk on colder days. The Staff is fantastic, lovely to talk to especially Bernie very welcoming.

31/01/2026: Amazing food. Fantastic service - the waiting staff were so sound and did not mind catering to my fussy orders. Nothing was any trouble. Really cool interiors and atmosphere. I would recommend this place to all.
18/01/2026: Probably the best restaurant in the world, the quality of food is immaculate. I would advise everyone and their mother to come here and try this food. I cannot say it enough, this food will blow your mind as to how good it is. Fair play to all the staff they are extremely friendly and create a nice environment 👍

Abbeyglen Castle Hotel

17/02/2026: We only stayed for one night, but if I'd have known how great this place is - we'd have planned to stay for a few nights. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived (thanks Froda!), the location is outstanding, and the hospitality was perfect. The dinner and breakfast were both fantastic, and the atmosphere in the bar was the best.
I'm running out of adjectives to describe how good this place is, I'll have some more ready for when we're back next time.

02/02/2026: We had a family wedding in the Abbeyglen recently and it was simply excellent. The setting is amazing, a castle in the west of Ireland. The rooms are beautiful and very very comfortable, 4 poster beds, twin sinks luxurious bath. The host and owner was a tremendous entertainer who made the weekend even better (playing music singing chatting!). We stayed on after the wedding and got the full guest experience.
I cant recommend the Abbeyglen highly enough.

06/01/2026: We have had food in Veldons many times over the years while passing through Letterfrack, always a nice experience, food is very good, service is good & staff are always friendly and helpful. The pub is very cool inside definitely worth a visit

14/12/2025: The food was delicious, the Chowder was one of the best I've ever had, the beef eye steak was amazing, everything was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic, there are TVs to watch the games and they have a terrace upstairs.

17/12/2025: June 2025: A great traditional pub in Leenaun just south of the head of the fjiord; nice pint of Guinness and a half of the Zero too. The food was a tasty fish and chips and the goat cheese parcel with salad. If you are in a Motorhome or camper van you can park overnight opposite in the public carpark for free which comes with a great view over the waters of the fjord.
27/10/2025: A cozy pub/restaurant with a great view. The mussels were fresh and delicious, the seafood chowder creamy and rich, and the crispy buttermilk chicken goujons were also really good.

23/11/2025: This place is amazing, I stopped there for breakfast. I ordered a sweet mixed fruit with oats and seeds. It was so full filing and so healthy. I enjoyed it and it kept me full all morning. I also had a cup of tea which was badly needed that morning. I enjoyed all of this with a family member.
The waiter was a very nice gentleman, he was soooo friendly and helpful.
The place is clean and I loved the decoration inside. Highly recommended 👌 👍 excellent service 👏 👌 👍

07/12/2025: The place is very well located, views are awesome, and service was grand. We had roast beef, fish and chips and mussels. Portions are big, food was ok but we were expecting it to be better, I would go back there for the atmosphere but not for the food.

06/01/2026: We visited here for lunch. The main lounge was nice, bright, modern and warm. We were seated and had food orders taken. Servers were friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly and was very good. We can recommend Moycarn Lodge.
