07/10/2025: Thomas is fantastic and we enjoyed swapping stories and hanging out for a pint. Definitely stop here. About as authentic of an Irish pub experience that you can get.

28/10/2025: Pub with live music. Seating at the bar, by the windows, and at tables with partitions for dining. Cozy and not too crowded, with outdoor seating for smokers.

26/10/2025: Very good, I would say the best fish and chips, the chowder is amazing, the chicken burger is so-so, we will definitely come back, and we recommend this place.

05/08/2025: A treasure trove of momentos of the expeditions of Tom Crean and a great place to stop for a rest, on your own travels. I've enjoyed spending time at the South Pole Inn on a couple of occasions and I'll be back there again before too long. Highly recommended.

27/09/2025: The food was lovely and the staff very nice and accommodating. This place was recommended by our Air B&B host so we had to try it. It was lovely and reasonably priced.

17/09/2025: You can't eat here without an appointment, but appointments are easy to get. They offer appointments for 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm only. But the entire restaurant flows, your food is timely and fresh, and it just works. You're not rushed out the door, and you have plenty of time to savor your food and drink, get dessert, relax, and enjoy your evening without pressure.

17/09/2025: Had the Fish of the day special. The two prawns provided were not properly cleaned and were overcooked making it difficult to eat. The vegetable medley potatoes were undercooked. The special cost 40£. I would not reccomend. The mussels and oysters were fresh and tasty. Calamari was tasty. **Update two of our party fell ill from the smoked Salmon. They were the only two who consumed the salmon.

08/10/2025: Damn, this restaurant used to be so good, not anymore. Four of us dined there last night, worst meal of our 2 weeks in Ireland. They used to have a warm, fun Irish vibe with amazing well thought out food. Now the staff do not have any Irish charm and are curt and bothered. The food is bland and uninspired, the vibe is sad. We will never go back.

24/10/2025: Six of us ate here last night. We had a beautiful meal. The atmosphere, service and quality of the food was excellent. We'll definitely be back. 3 of us had the monkfish and scallops, two steaks and I had the bacon. We all licked our plates The deserts were gorgeous also. Thank you.

24/07/2025: Great place to explore the Dingle Peninsula. Clean hostel with a shared kitchen. The pub is right outside, and Sean and Fiona are very welcoming. If you like, you can get breakfast from the pub instead of self-catering, but we didn't take advantage of that. You can swim in the Atlantic Ocean in front of the pub (we saw several swimmers, even though the water was too cold for us). Highly recommended.

23/07/2025: Nice pier side bar, good selection of food and beers. Good service with nice seats outside. Veggie soup was very good, decent fish and chips and a very good juicy burger. Lovely spot with a nice hike on the doorstep and great beaches and pier.

12/10/2025: This is a hard one. The ambiance was great. All but one of the servers were excellent. However, one clearly shouldn’t be there and her body language and lack of warmth made her stand out. The wine list was disappointing but we found a diamond in the rough. The menu was deep with tantalizing options. However little details in the dishes were lacking and taste didn’t match the visuals as much as expected. Our lamb dish was a miss - undercooked, tough and little taste. But lots of positives - starters and dessert were good. They also were very apologetic for the lamb shortfall. But it was a little hard to reconcile how some of the details could fall so short with a highly acclaimed restaurant that should’ve wowed but didn’t. I would try it again just to see if it was just a one off or the King really doesn’t have any clothes.

04/10/2025: I didn't eat there and have no idea what the menu is like or even if they serve food. But the "pub" is delightful, clean and cosey. Open fire is always cheerful on a cold evening.

05/10/2025: Stopped in on a roadtrip with family, good pint of Guinness and a great steak with peppercorn sauce - service was very warm, and got the recommendation to head over to the Killarney Grand for a fun night of love music!

15/10/2025: We ate there on the recommendation of some travel companions. It was a great choice. The waiter was charming and very attentive. We ordered "Batterer fresh cod & chips" and "Fried squid," both delicious. We had "Killarney Devils Helles" beer because it's from there, and it was also very good. Recommended if you're on vacation in Ireland and pass through Killarney.

The food was excellent – ​​fresh fish, perfectly prepared, with a full flavor. The service was friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive. An honest, authentic, no-nonsense place where quality and comfort are paramount. A particularly nice touch: Our lovely neighbor from Canada 🇨🇦 paid for the entire evening on our honeymoon, thank you so much – an unforgettable moment that perfectly suited this wonderful place. A well-deserved 5 stars!
