The best restaurants in Kilkenny

29/06/2024: We had a fabulous 3 night stay in the Guest house. The area is so peaceful.and we felt so relaxed. We enjoyed watching the ponies and the beautiful newly born foal in the field beside the house. Caroline is an amazing host and along with her gorgeous dog Arthur, made us feel so welcome. Caroline is also a great cook and we enjoyed our freshly cooked Breakfasts. Would highly recommend.

06/06/2024: Me and my wife have been here twice and each time we had such an amazing time. Caroline is the most accommodating host and really cant do enough for you. The food is always top quality and absolutely delicious. We plan on coming back here every year we love it so much

11/09/2024: I was walking, exploring and noticed this gem, sparkling by the river Nore. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly crew. The landlord was a sweetie, served the bestest gin & slim. The locals shared their Irish hospitality. I am only sad to leave and miss the live music on Saturday 14th September. Now I have made new friends I will return when Irish eyes are singing! Thank you Trish for your welcome 🤗

03/11/2024: Lovely cosy restaurant in the Callan golf club. Very friendly staff, good choice of lunches on the menu and value for money

04/11/2024: Brilliant Indian restaurant in the heart of Kilkenny. A massive menu catering for all dietary requirements. We would highly recommend it!!

23/09/2024: Was in Kilkenny for the day and decided to have a sandwich and water. I had the triple decker chicken sandwich and I loved it. The service was good. The staff were nice. Would go again.

10/09/2024: Amazing. We just stayed for a night, but I could have stayed for a week just to enjoy the lovely place. Very nice view to the river, delicious and big breakfast, the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was pristine. I recommend this place if you want to enjoy a lovely little village in the East of Ireland. Very close to Killkeny as well. Difficult roads though, but enjoyable.

27/09/2024: We had a beast of a sandwich with pork, peppers, onions and relish. It was huge and tasty. Coffee also good. We'll definitely go back!

21/07/2024: This was a pretty good meal. Steaks were done exactly the way we asked. I will point out that the steaks have a lot of “or” in the description so read carefully. Over all the experience was very good. Also one suggestion, if you like garlic mash potatoes, they come with a minor hint of garlic and butter but we found that you can self improve them by using the butter and garlic provided with the steaks and they are exceptional if you add in enough to your taste.

09/07/2024: I and my friend went for dinner at the hound restaurant today. And we had the most amazing time at the restaurant.. we got asked where we want to sit and we chose to sit at the terrace and it was so pleasant the whole vibe there.. the f&b stuff were so well trained and welcoming.. each person were very friendly and helpful.. but mostly importantly would want to appreciate the kind and beautiful gesture from the f&b manager Danielle... She was so warm and welcoming and very helpful her way of treating a guest is not just excellent but beyond that. I can't express much in words how happy my day was.. even tho there were a couple of issues with the steak but everything else lightened our day. Thank you mount Juliet Estate and Danielle and the f&b stuff was making us feel so warm and welcoming... And for the laste beautiful surprise... Thank you

25/10/2024: We were lucky that they accommodated our group of 5. The pasta was just like my mom would make. The burger was delicious as well. Highly recommend!

03/10/2024: Food was great! Muscles in a red sauce and Pasta Carbonara for 25 euro. Fantastic

12/11/2024: Was told there would be a 25-minute wait but we told them we would wait. It was nowhere near that long of a wait and when we got in, it was clear that they were just spacing out the entries. We got the veggie fajitas and the smoky burger. The frizzled onions were very tasty. My order was mixed up which resulted in me getting my food when the person with me had finished theirs but otherwise decent pub grub style food with large portions. Probably a better atmosphere at night time.

06/11/2024: Very nice but sadly, the open area at the back (where you can smoke), is closed during the day so we had to sit out on the street which wasn't very comfortable
