The best restaurants in Kilkenny

08/11/2025: Delicious lunch in Zuni's. We had the belly pork and the cod. Great service, excellent food and a lovely restaurant.

08/12/2025: We visited this restaurant last Friday and were really disappointed. The food itself was only okay, but the prices were extremely high — I had a half-portion of spaghetti that cost €24. We asked for tap water and were still given a bottled water, which added another €8 to the bill. The service felt reluctant and not particularly friendly, and when we went to pay, we were shocked to be asked for a gratuity of 20% or €10 (€30) per seat. For the level of service we received, this was completely unreasonable. Overall, it was not a good experience and we won’t be returning.

15/11/2025: Lovely little cafe in Castlecomer. Pet friendly at the back of the cafe: this is outside. They serve a wide range of options, such as dinner, sandwiches and deserts. They also serve Gluten-free, thank you. We visited on two separate occasions with our two furry friends (dogs). The food was amazing and the coffee is very good. And to complete a great service, they do takeaway. I highly recommend a visit. The warm reception by the manager, is refreshing. Unfortunately, I never received his name. He was welcoming, professional, helpful and friendly. We had a lovely visit on two occasions.

17/11/2025: A great place to have dinner and a beer. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pub is housed in an old building connected to the story of Alice, who was declared a witch. You can read about her story on the back of the menu.

25/10/2025: Coke was flat, but was replaced on request. Would not have the budda burger again. Canadian visitors next to us ordered burger without sauce, but came with, it was replaced on request, they then left most of their meal. Staff were great...cheerfull.helpful, polite. Thanks

14/10/2025: The absolute best coffee in Kilkenny, without a doubt! I go several times a week. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The coffee shop is nicely decorated, warm, and comfortable. If anyone asks me for a suggestion for coffee, brunch, and lunch, I always point them to Low Lane!

27/10/2025: We came to Kilkenny for the food festival and came across here on our first day as we were staying nearby. The absolute best 👌 it's so so good! We didn't go anywhere else for coffee or pastries. The coffee is fab, the breads and pastries are unreal and we had breakfast on our last morning at the Bistro. Without a doubt one of the best if not the best breakfast we have ever had. We both had the breakfast sambos and it was amazing. Fab food, excellent service and just a gem of a place. Credit to all who work there.

12/09/2025: This is the perfect place guys. I'm preferably coming over for coffee but the food is amazing and you will always feel welcome because the ladies and the lads working in here are amazing. Plently of free parking and most importantly, a very lovely covered open area to sit in the back if you want to get fresh air, decent privacy or are a smoker.

11/11/2025: Only there for evening meals and drinks. Some nice cozy corners. Very friendly and engaging staff - very welcoming. Kind of slow mid-week so it felt spacious and quiet.
