09/11/2024: Live music. Amazing group of people. Friendly and fun.

09/11/2024: Your bouncers are on a power trip x Reason for no entry was "we are full" when an woman vacating had told the bouncer "two of us have left, there is space for 2 now, let this man and his friend in". Your bouncer still refused entry and would not provide any valid reason. I wouldn't mind if I was drunk, he was just wanting to ruin our stag night. Travelled half way across the country to spend money in local bars, for a man with a power trip to ruin it. Vet your bouncers, or at least give valid reason for no entry.

18/11/2024: Had a hotel booked with my girlfriend in Kilkenny for Saturday night. Went for a nice meal and went to Left Bank for a while. We weren’t quite enjoying it there so decided to come here for a better time. Terrible idea. Myself and my girlfriend were standing outside deciding whether to go in or not and then decided we would. The man working there off the bat told me my girlfriend was “loaded” and wouldn’t let us in. I questioned him on this as neither of us had even drank much at this point. He then proceeded to tell me I was “loaded” before walking back inside. He couldn’t look either of us in the eye when talking, extremely cowardly. The other bouncer was extremely apologetic when this rude man walked back in as she could very much see we were fine and just looking to have a nice time. This rude man very clearly has a power trip about him and I would highly not recommend heading here if you want to have a nice time. Myself and my girlfriend couldn’t have been that loaded if we both can very clearly remember the entire interaction and every rude comment that disgusting man made.

10/11/2024: Had a hen party this weekend, done the cocktail making activity with Carl. Best night made us all feel so comfortable and we had a great laugh, cannot recommend it enough l

08/11/2024: I accidentally knocked over a glass while tasting the beer and had to refill it for free

27/10/2024: Now this is the second time around that the place wasn’t full or busy and the pizza wasn’t properly cooked. The dough was floppy and it could have been left at least another 3 minutes in the oven. Def don’t come here and expect a good bar pizza.

22/10/2024: was there on Saturday night staff were friendly and service was good loved that they have retained the old bar and fixture thought having a table right beside the bar was a bit strange made bar space a bit awkward ...in saying that will definitely return when back in kilkenny

11/10/2024: It's Thursday night and I enraptured by the trad session currently in play. Wonderful people, making memories, listening to songs I haven't heard in years. A stunning example of an Irish pub. Great staff. Great songs. A wonderful night. Grà mor x

09/11/2024: Lovely cafe in an old pub which serves great food. Well worth a detour to have lunch there.

15/11/2024: We came today to lunch ! Food was terrible and after that food ( burger ) that we had we are felling really bad ! Won’t recommend because it’s obviously tourist trap and they are not using fresh food !

15/11/2024: We been in pub today, in total 4 of us ! 3 of us eat burger , meat was really bad, was smelling bad and was not worn at all! So obviously was heated up because burger showed up in 2 min after order ! All of us are feeling really bad and been really bad since than! I don’t recommend eating any burger or any food in there you WILL GET FOOD POISONING!!!!

29/10/2024: It was great. We warned that it could be 15 minute wait to be seated as we wanted food, which we were happy to do. A table was found with in 2 minutes and cleared for our use. I had the cottage pie with was excellent.

28/10/2024: Nice pub with plenty of seating. We didn't realize it was seated yourself so we wasted time looking for staff. I was happy to see a cocktail menu since so many places in Ireland seem to favor Guinness and wine. The bogeyman cocktail was good & my husband enjoyed his old fashion. The calamari was good. The place got crowded early on a Saturday evening but service was good.

01/11/2024: Well located restaurant (Butter Slip). Warm atmosphere. Classic gastropub cuisine well done.

14/10/2024: I was excited to go here after seeing good reviews from vegans. I had the vegan lasagne (which was the only vegan option on the lunch menu.) It was tasty although comes without cheese on top which is unusual. My husband got the vegetarian toasted sandwich (grand) soup and slice of the Guinness bread (he enjoyed these). We got tea afterwards and while it was served lovely on a little colourful tray unfortunately they don't have oat milk as an option only soy milk which is disappointing when even garages have oat milk these days.

16/11/2024: Sadly, unreal opening hours. Change it for not surprises please.

10/11/2024: Beautifully bonkers place. Visit each year for gigs at Kilkenomics as they have a tiny upstairs venue. Oh. Cash only. Be aware.

09/08/2024: Great pub. We were out the back in a covered in beer garden. Pints of Guinness were lovely and cold.
