15/02/2025: Lovely spot, great atmosphere, good value, friendly staff and the toilets were spotless, enjoyed our meal.

12/02/2025: One of the finest Pubs. Nicely laid out, ample room, very clean, great atmosphere of a Thursday night. Most important, a good pint of Guinness

11/03/2025: 10 out of 10. A delicious place to have breakfast and have a good coffee for those who like it. The eggs Benedict are very good with their focaccia bread and the Louie's Club (sandwich) is delicious! Highly recommended!

20/01/2025: We stumbled upon this cozy and friendly bar our first night in Ireland. We are American and were looking for a place to watch the American Football game. This bar had it on the TV towards the back. Although I can't speak to the food we did have some wonderful drinks and entertainment. We ordered a smith, a Guiness and plenty of Jameson gingers. All the drinks were great, but what made the experience was the live entertainment and the patrons of this bar. The patrons seemed to consist of many regulars or friends of the regulars. We met Charlie the bartender who was so kind to everyone including us. He took the time to talk to me about our trip and showed sympathy about the current political climate in the US. We also met other travelers and now have new friends. I recommend this bar if you are passing through Kilkenny and I hope to go back one day.

05/01/2025: A simple endearing pub with warm company who poured the best pint of Guinness during our stay in Ireland…..sheer talent!! St James Gate itself had nothing on him. If you are a tourist and find yourself in Kilkenny, you owe yourself this authentic local experience. Cheers gents!

10/03/2025: Absolutely fantastic experience at Petronella! The food was incredible, the staff were beyond excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. I didn’t have cash on me, and they don’t accept tips on the bill, so I’ll be back soon with a double tip because the staff deserve it for the excellent service. Highly recommend.

14/10/2024: Arrived here minutes before the shop opened on a Saturday morning hoping to get a last minute balloon organised for son’s birthday. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant with a customer who was there as they arrived for their Saturday shift. The women doing the balloons did a great job and son was delighted with his balloon ! Thank you so much. Customer service like this from a local shop encourages future visits for all hardware and party needs.

03/01/2025: Came for breakfast here both mornings we started in Westport. The owner remembered us the second morning and was a lovely man. Breakfast was gorgeous- porridge, boxty, scone aswell as the tea and coffees
