30/09/2026: Very friendly staff, and very tasty food

12/06/2026: When we first entered the room, we were welcomed by a fish smell because the window was broken and the fumes from the kitchen were directly entering. We tried watching tv and couldn't because nearly all the channels were locked with a pin code that not even the manager knew. The water in the sink wouldn't drain. We tried to shower before bed but the hot water was shut off without prior notice. During the night, we were unable to sleep because all you could hear were the sounds of the pipes in the building that sounded exactly like a ship's horn going off every 10 minutes. We were left there wide awake to stare at the huge water damage stains in the ceiling. My partner suffers from epilepsy and sleep is more important for him than for the average person. At the price of 207€ for a night we at the very least expected to get a decent night's rest and that was not the case. We spoke to the manager and he told us he couldn't issue us a full refund. Only 20€. He said it wasn't within his power and that we'd have to go through Booking.com for a refund. Surprise surprise, it turns out he simply does not want to refund more than half. Very deceitful. This is place is more of a hostel.

10/06/2026: Recently had a two night stay here celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, top marks all round, lovely hotel, exceptional staff from Louise on reception to Olya in the restaurant and Paul the owner, all so friendly and helpful, great location, will definitely return and would highly recommend. 24/06/2026: Had a great time with my wife and son. Everything was perfect. Stayed for 2 nights so got to enjoy most of what it had to offer, food and cocktails were excellent and of course the service. Have been twice and will definitely be back.

11/06/2026: This is not a 5 star hotel. The premises may look 5 star but the service is just above 3 star. Self service for breakfast, no waiter service in the bar, it just lacked the 5 star experience. I have stayed in 3 & 4 star hotels that offer a better service than Lyrath.

18/08/2026: Friendly tabby cat in the back seating area. Great pint of Guiness. Was quiet in the early evening but it looks like it could get busy and louder later on.

12/07/2026: We had our wedding in Langtons on the 20th of June 2026. We are so happy we chose to get married here!! The staff here at Langtons especially Sean, Louise and Susie who made the whole experience so lovely and positive. They were always available to answer any questions we had in the lead up to the wedding and on the day. We got married in the Set Theatre and had our reception in the ballroom and our friends and family commented on how excellent the service was and how stunning the food was and that the location was perfect for everyone. Plenty of people said the slow cooked beef was the best beef they had ever had! We had our day 2 in Bridies and the staff were incredible. It was a hot day and they must have made 200 strawberry daiquiris for our friends throughout the day! Apologies! We are so happy we chose Langtons as our venue and cannot wait to come down again! 11/06/2026: We had a wonderful visit to the Langstons Hotel last summer. The Hotel was beautiful, it was quiet, and the rooms were very stately. The staff was very friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. The location is perfect because it is walkable and you are right down the street from everything. We would definitely stay here again!

21/08/2026: Overall the ambience and atmosphere are great, the red ale was so refreshing. Food was great but I understand that the place is in the touristy area so they’re quite expensive.

08/09/2026: Guy there last night singing with the guitar. Belted out Christy Moore and if you closed your eyes, you wouldn't know it wasn't him. Sang a great rendition of The Green Fields Of France. Very nice staff and pints. Food looked great. Excellent stuff.

06/09/2026: Had one of the best fish & chips of my life here. Big fan of all the sauces being on the table, food arrived quickly and warm. Staff was polite and the atmosphere was nice. Good place to grab a pint and lunch after walking around Kilkenny!

05/10/2026: Great food, great atmosphere, and great people overall. The food tasted great, and our server gave us recommendations of where to explore the next day. Thanks to that, and the great people, great band, and great food overall, I will be coming back if I’m ever in Ireland again. And I give a thank you to this place for treating me and my family so nice.

04/10/2026: Immense, a profusion of bars within a single establishment, a pub, as they say. Here in Kilkini, we enjoyed this place in three versions: pint, dinner, and a shot of Irish whiskey that rivals any good Scotch single malt. Bars and atmosphere all in the same building; probably the biggest pub we've seen on our trip through Ireland, and there are some very, very big ones. Great atmosphere, nice decor, and lots of people enjoying this enormous pub. A delightful experience.

03/10/2026: The friendliest tender you're going to meet. Get the hot chocolate with a shot. My day has been 100% better since I went in. Making this a monthly trip now. Also, ask as many questions as you like, they have all the answers.

20/09/2026: We went for lunch today, the food was wonderful. Highly recommended. Highlight was the lentil soup with the fresh lemon, and the vegetarian plate.

15/04/2026: Excellent stay last weekend with my baby as part of a hen party. Cannot thank the staff enough, I found myself staying on my own with my baby due to the fuel protests. The ladies on reception were so welcoming and helped with my luggage. The restaurant delivered my meal to the room, it was lovely. The hotel is great and the staff definitely made my stay enjoyable and relaxing.

08/04/2026: Good hotel located in the centre of kilkenny. Room was nice, clean and big, and despite it overlooking the main street it was quiet. Slightly odd setup that the quickest way to the hotel room was to leave the building and walk across the car park, but there was an option to walk through the hotel also. Bar was good, just went there for a drink, not food. Breakfast is self service and a good choice of hot and cold food.

08/09/2026: Amazing place, bruschetta, cannoli the best, fab wine to complement dishes. Steak is the best tasted. Lovely staff, always so accommodating to our family. Toilets spotless. I never review anywhere but we have been dining here for years and my daughter has a peanut allergy-100% safe for her, which why we always go here when in Kilkenny. Ciao 🩷

20/08/2026: have just come back for the second time this week this place is so good. The food is amazing and the staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. the price is really reasonable too. We will definitely be back next time we are in kilkenny and would highly recommend Italian connection

11/08/2026: This was a rollercoaster of emotions. There aren't many Portuguese restaurants in Ireland so when me and my friends saw this one, we had a little hope at having some food from home. Even if we do live over 2h away from it. The restaurant itself looks like you stepped into a typical Portuguese tasca. That was good but then we had to wait almost two hours for the food to even arrive at the table! My friend asked the waitress for a few things and every single one of them wasn't available. And I'm not exaggerating. All of the very typical Portuguese items she asked for were out of stock. She ended up going with chips and mayo. My steak was beyond cooked. Shoe sole consistency and chewy. I ended up having the chips dipped in the very little sauce that came with it. Wasn't bad, just would've preferred the steak to be edible. My partner's meal was decent until we got to the desert. The chocolate mousse felt like wet sand and tasted a bit too artificial. I know chocolate mousse can be tricky to make but does it ever have wet sand consistency? Not that I'm aware of. At the end of the meal, the owner came to apologize. Apparently, they were incredibly understaffed that day. I'll be going there another time to see if it has changed.

08/08/2026: Went here today for dinner while out for the day . Doesn't look much but the food is fantastic and great portions . We got lamb cutlets . 5 cutlets in portion . Daughter got squid . Lovely . Son got curry . Sauce was lovely . Good value too
