08/01/2026: By far the best chipper in Kilkenny, its so good I travel from Hugginstown in south Kilkenny to get my food here (approx 25km). My favorites are Quarter Pounder with everything on it and Cheese Curry Chip. My mouth is watering just think of it lol. If you haven't tried a cheese curry chip I would highly recommend it.

19/09/2025: Phenomenal service. Spent weeks looking for the right paint colour. One visit and we had the perfect one. Also got an amazing sit down breakfast. Go here for anything you need. If they don't have it, they will point you in the correct direction.

17/11/2025: We arrived on Saturday on our way from a wedding, the café was just closing but the ladies looked after us with some lovely freshly made sandwiches and pots of tea, that fitted the bill nicely. Very tasty and reasonably priced.

02/02/2026: Our stay at Mount Juliet was made even more memorable by several meals at The Hound, and it truly did not disappoint. From appetizers to mains and desserts, every dish we had across multiple lunches and dinners was extremely good. We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea; even though the weather kept us from the outside terrace, the staff were so attentive and ensured we were perfectly taken care of indoors. It was a flawless dining experience that has me already looking forward to my next staycation!

28/12/2025: The food here is just amazing.... Everytime I go to kilkenny this is always my first stop for breakfast. Last time I went I arrived on Tuesday morning the only day that it's closed.... I was very tired and hungry after a late night ferry trip and to find it closed was so disappointing I almost cried. That is how good this cafe is...... Needless to say I went there the very next day and as always I was not disappointed with either the food or the service which as always were first class. If your going to kilkenny you should definitely go to this cafe at least once if not multiple times during your visit. Multiple trips help to decide what to have off the menu because it's all so delicious it's can be extremely hard to decide what to have..... I will make sure my next trip to kilkenny doesn't have me arriving on a Tuesday morning because I don't want to relive the disappointment of seeing the doors of this cafe closed.......

20/02/2026: We didn't stay here (will next runner) but stopped for lunch amd have to say... the food was phenomenal, I mean...PHENOMENAL. Avoid touristy nonsense and stop in here for a proper meal, you will not regret it.

10/01/2026: I have gotten takeaways from here numerous times and the food has alway been delicious. Very reasonably priced and the service is always friendly and quick. The dining-in is also very good, the staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

23/11/2025: I ordered food via Just Eat… ordered accepted, got the message ready for collection and when arrived to pick up the food was not there and I had to wait 40 min to figure that they forgot to prepare my food, I decided to wait as the attendant said they would prioritise, then another 25 minutes and guess??? They forgot again and this time didn’t even apologise and said if you wanna cancel go ahead… horrible customer experience… the food might be delicious but the customer experience is one of the poorest I have ever experienced.

13/01/2026: Not great, we used to live in Westfield (Loughboy) so have affection for the place, it was our daughter's 13th birthday so we booked ahead - I had said on the booking it was her birthday so could they do something "small yet special" for her. Turn up, table - no issue Waitress comes, barely a smile , order taken Drinks arrive, coke tastes flat / watered down Pizzas arrive they are lovely, chips are warm at best I approach a different (less moody waitress) about our daughter's birthday and could she have an ice cream/candle etc - she said she wouldn't do that "as it would melt the ice cream - how does some cheesecake sound?" "Great, thank you" I say The ice creams (as part of the menu deal) are eaten, we wait, we wait. I ask her for the cheesecake etc she comes over with the PAD to take an order, not complementary, no candle, no song ! It was basically a VERY expensive Sunday day out, i get staff might think me cheeky wanting a (small) "freebie" but my bill for x4 pizza x4 soft drinks and x2 chips was just shy of €100 so for a "free cheesecake" I was a mug to play that game (I could have bought 20 of them in Lidl for less!) Overall a shame, it could have been lovely and special, but it was average and expensive.
