07/11/2024: Dined here with friends on a golf trip. Food was excellent and service/atmosphere was excellent. I would definitely dine here again

01/11/2024: A quiet oasis from the bustle of kilkenny city. Excellent service. White tablecloths add to the feeling of luxury.

02/11/2024: While on a tour last year my mother-in-law and I found this gem and had the best lunch ever! We fell in love with their soup of the day which was squash and sweet potatoe along with some fresh brown bread. Now that's it's fall, we'd love to make this at home and are hoping the chef can share the receipe. I highly recommend The Fig Restaurant!

29/10/2024: Wow,wow,wow, what an incredible experience, the food was sublime the staff so attentive without being intrusive and it was on par if not better than some Michelin star places I've eaten in. Highly recommend

26/10/2024: We absolutely loved this little space! It’s very tiny inside with only a handful of tables, though they do also have a couple of tables out on the patio. Had the best sandwich of my life here and a fantastic coffee! There are gluten free options including bread.

03/10/2024: Great little coffee shop with tons of interesting flavor combinations. Happy and able to make coffees less sweet. Also has a nice little bakeshop with a lovely selection of pastries, including vegan and gluten-free.

02/10/2024: Wonderful coffee and great food. Loved the story behind the place. Family owned and operated and such a unique find. Definitely what we all search for when we travel and a must see. I had a Celtic sea salt latte and pomegranate bacon French toast. What a combo! Must try!

02/11/2024: The lunchtime menu seems to change on a weekly basis, so any local regulars are in luck. Of the four mains available on the day of our visit, two were vegan or vegan adaptable. It was easy to see that the ingredients were fresh and well sourced, the cheffing skills high and the front of house professional. Refreshingly innovative. 💡 50% vegan in general. 🌱

05/11/2024: Somos comensales ocasionales en Aroi. Decidimos a última hora cenar aquí en octubre noche de fiesta bancaria. Reservado para las 7 pm. Tuvimos pollo Satay y pasteles de cangrejo y pescado para empezar. Ambos eran frescos y porciones muy sabrosas y decentes. Pedimos galletas de langostinos que eran frescos y crujientes y de mucho sabor. El plato principal fue un curry de ternera roja con arroz jazmín y el otro plato fue un salteado de pollo y verduras con arroz jazmín también. Ambos platos estaban calientes, llenos y muy sabrosos. La carne de res y pollo utilizada fue de excelente calidad y cantidad. Tomamos bebidas durante la comida, media botella de vino blanco como uno de nosotros era el conductor y una botella grande de agua con gas. Estábamos bastante llenos, así que no hay desiertos excepto cafés. Vimos a uno de nuestros vecinos compartiendo un desierto que lamentamos no tener. Otra excelente noche en Aroi Kilkenny. Volveremos de nuevo antes de Navidad.

09/10/2024: The food was nice, but the portions were very small. Staff were friendly but a little overly attentive. The price was a little over the top I was expecting the decor in this place to be top notch it was only ok, seats where not overly comfortable. Overall the experience was OK we had fun the night was made us having a laugh

04/11/2024: Hit and miss. Starters were the highlight. Mains weren't seasoned properly, especially the duck, which is unforgivable at these prices. Waited over 45 minutes for desserts due to the waiter forgetting to put it in. No acknowledgement by management of this. It's a real shame because the dining room is lovely, great buzz in the place, and the menu reads really well, but it was not executed to the standard you'd expect on evening we visited.

03/11/2024: Disappointing from start to finish. The male servers were a delight to deal with. However a female waitress was very rude. We were there to celebrate a friends engagement. When we asked for a desert plate with “congratulations” for her she quickly denied as we hadn’t pre booked this to come out?! She was constantly at our table rushing us to order, take the bill, clearing glasses quickly. The seafood pâté had two bones in it I couldn’t eat it. The beef had multiple large pieces of fat and minimal accompaniments. I left hungry after the meal. The only nice part was the desert! Too expensive for the quality of food and service we received!

08/11/2024: To all the team, We are still marvelling in you all! We had our wedding dinner here (our REAL one!). And 45 guests left ecstatic! We know how hard the hospitality/restaurant business is at the moment but we both agree that we could not fault anything from start to finish. From the initial meeting with yourself, to you agreeing to open early to accommodate us, the warmth and kindness on the day and of course it goes without saying, the quality of the food and service. Everyone is still talking about it! For people that love their food it was always going to be difficult for us to trust anyone to host our wedding meal but you all looked after our nearest and dearest in such a wonderful way that we will be forever grateful so thank you!

04/11/2024: Absolutely fantastic, best steak I've had with the exception of my own, the one thing I could be critical of is the sweetcorn in the salad, it doesn't represent itself well with the rest of the excellent robustness of the salad, Sticky toffee pudding was yum, staff are very busy so I can overlook them having to ask ifi need anything else etc... it was rammed when I was there.

14/11/2024: Had dinner and a couple of beers here. There was an Irish duet playing Irish music pretty well, and we were able to grab a table. The food we chose was Irish, and decent. The beers were well poured. Overall it was a positive experience.

09/11/2024: Your bouncers are on a power trip x Reason for no entry was "we are full" when an woman vacating had told the bouncer "two of us have left, there is space for 2 now, let this man and his friend in". Your bouncer still refused entry and would not provide any valid reason. I wouldn't mind if I was drunk, he was just wanting to ruin our stag night. Travelled half way across the country to spend money in local bars, for a man with a power trip to ruin it. Vet your bouncers, or at least give valid reason for no entry.

18/11/2024: Had a hotel booked with my girlfriend in Kilkenny for Saturday night. Went for a nice meal and went to Left Bank for a while. We weren’t quite enjoying it there so decided to come here for a better time. Terrible idea. Myself and my girlfriend were standing outside deciding whether to go in or not and then decided we would. The man working there off the bat told me my girlfriend was “loaded” and wouldn’t let us in. I questioned him on this as neither of us had even drank much at this point. He then proceeded to tell me I was “loaded” before walking back inside. He couldn’t look either of us in the eye when talking, extremely cowardly. The other bouncer was extremely apologetic when this rude man walked back in as she could very much see we were fine and just looking to have a nice time. This rude man very clearly has a power trip about him and I would highly not recommend heading here if you want to have a nice time. Myself and my girlfriend couldn’t have been that loaded if we both can very clearly remember the entire interaction and every rude comment that disgusting man made.

10/11/2024: Had a hen party this weekend, done the cocktail making activity with Carl. Best night made us all feel so comfortable and we had a great laugh, cannot recommend it enough l
