18/01/2026: Nicely decorated restaurants stone walls and ceiling beams,wasn't impressed by the service ! We were waiting 20mins to be even asked for our orders thats criminal !! ,no offer of jug of water or titbits to nibble on as you wait.The food itself was ok the burger is super thin you get 2 on your bun to try make it look decent,the fries were average, also what put me off returning here is the noise of the music blaring I feel like you're competing with the racket playing while trying to have a conversation.

28/06/2026: Had our medal award ceremony for local teen football team in The Anvil, the staff were friendly and kind to the players, food was excellent, premises were ideal for this purpose and they allowed us in beforehand to decorate etc. Food was lovely, all attendees highly complimentary and I could not recommend a better place for an event such as this, thank you to all in The Anvil for a great day.

23/06/2026: Popped in on a Tuesday night hoping to get food. The very attentive barmaid said that food stopped at 4pm. She was really helpful suggesting various places including Treacy's at The Heath. Thanks for the suggestion. It was fantastic. Will drop in to your pub next time we're in the area.

15/05/2026: I absolutely love the brew, the staff are friendly and well kept, the brew club was absolutely amazing and full of flavor. The smoothies & ice coffees are a 10/10. I love the vibe that is in the cafe and I would 100% recommend

20/12/2025: You won’t get a nicer breakfast in town. The full Irish is a proper feed. The club sandwich is also lovely. And massive. At Christmas they do a festive club which is unreal. I’ve only recently deviated from my usual orders or either a breakfast or a club sandwich. Tried the loaded fries (pictured above). Sweet Jesus. What a feed. The belly buster burger is a sight to behold. Check out the pic. You'll need a lie down after it. Big credit to the staff also. You get service you only would from a family run business. A big welcome, bitta chat and craic, and efficient quick service. Port is lucky to have Eddie’s in town

01/09/2025: Fantastic full irish breakfast! We were dying on our way home from Electric Picnic, stopped in here for some breakfast, walked out like whole new women. 10/10 recommend and the staff are lovely!

21/11/2025: They have a good variety of outdoor plants and trees but less indoor plants. The Antique store and garden equipments are good.

16/11/2025: If you're looking for the unusual this place is worth a visit. Lots of vintage memorabilia but also garden and furniture centre. Also restaurant

04/03/2026: Primrose Cafe made a Birthday cake for my fathers 80 birthday. Excellent value, with a perfect theme to the cakes appearace which depicted his life as a farmer. Well done

03/06/2026: I was passing through Portlaoise at the weekend and wanted a quick bite to eat. I stopped at the Parkside Shopping Centre due to handy parking outside and went into Kelly Lou's. I chose a sausage roll and coleslaw and while it's something I like I seldom order it as they can be a bit hit and miss. However, on this occasion it was full of sausage meat with lovely flaky pastry and absolutely delicious. Just what a good sausage roll should be. It came with coleslaw, some salad and crisps and I enjoyed it immensely. I then had a lovely lemon cupcake and an equally lovely latte (in a tall glass the way a latte should be served but seldom are). All in all a delicious lunch and based on my experience I would definitely go there again if I was in Portlaoise.

25/05/2026: amazing service and helpful staff. a girl with blonde hair was very helpful and sweet, and gave a free coffee after we ordered a cake for an occasion. would recommend 🫶🏻

30/08/2025: What a gem. Service was just top class, friendly, fast efficient. Value for money. Toilets clean, wash basin in mens needed clean is all & maybe needs an upgrade aesthetically wise. Eggs benedict - top quality bacon 🥓 was very tasty, could be but crispier, but personal preference. Hollandaise was delicious, lemon coming through. Poached eggs perfect runny... Coffee & tea solid. Highly highly recommended 👌 #supportlocal

The staff are absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and accommodating every step of the way, making sure everyone has a great experience. The pints are always top quality, and it's a fantastic place to relax with friends or enjoy some live music. The pub has plenty of character and makes both locals and visitors feel at home. Highly recommended if you're looking for an authentic Irish pub experience!
