13/10/2024: I have very mixed feelings, starters, bread, soup tasty, 4 main courses were a tragedy, unsalted potatoes, tough meat, my wife ordered duck instead of fillet she got 2 slices of rubbery meat with unfried skin and additionally unseasoned, salad dressing was just lemon, 2 beers on the menu, desserts very weak but above all paying 40e for a main course I would like there to be something on the plate, a portion for a small child. Honestly I don't understand how you can start so well and end so badly. For 4 people we paid 320e and left hungry and very disappointed. I went, I saw, I tried unfortunately I won't go back there, the restaurant tries to be exclusive but it lacks the basics. As a restaurant run by a chef with a Michelin star I simply don't understand the idea and even more so the execution.

30/09/2024: Really excellent night in Bramley, had the tasting menu at €75 per head, well worth it, great value. Sadly had to drive so could not hop of the wine. Short list but covers the main regions. All in all would definitely recommend.

09/10/2024: My husband and I stayed in Abbeyleix last weekend and called into morriseys numerous times. The lovely barmaid Shauna was in every night and even did a day and night shift on the Saturday! She told us the amazing history of Morrisseys and told us about the new renovations, we will definitely be back for upcoming food. She gave us great recommendations of walks to do in Laois. Such a wonderful and hardworking young girl juggling work life and her final year in university. She deserves every promotion and more! She went above and beyond to welcome us and was a pleasure to be around. A credit to morriseys!

12/10/2024: Just enjoyed a most beautiful breakfast of scrambled eggs prepared by Ava, followed by a delicious cup of cappuccino in a very relaxing atmosphere. What a way to start the day. Thank you Hummingbird👏

05/10/2024: had a breakfast and it was shockingly poor - raw bacon and frozen hash brown and very cheap produce. When I asked I was told that everyone else was happy which simply wasn’t the case as next table to me complained also. When highlighted I waited 15 minutes for someone to address and no one came back so I left.

23/10/2024: Didn't use hotel facilities but used some of food kitchens in food court and was very happy with coffee food ect. also find staff friendly and patient . Lovely place to take a break if travelling or just enjoy a newspaper and coffee.

22/10/2024: One of the most important things when you get to your room: it was clean. Both times I stayed here. Staff was friendly and breakfast was a highlight; Irish breakfast, porridge, fruits, gluten-free and non-dairy options available, pastries… There’s also a gym, a swimming pool and a jacuzzi available - two different entrances but you can get there through a corridor at the hotel’s ground floor Another high point was the proximity to a petrol station with fast-food, asian food and some other options to eat just 2 minutes walking from the hotel’s reception.

09/10/2024: Brilliant for sport, huge screen in the courtyard, pizza and a beer, Brilliant atmosphere. Amazing bands at the weekend plus some comedy nights in the intimate venue upstairs. The bar staff are all so friendly, couldn't realy ask for more.

05/09/2024: A short stopover that was worth it. The service was friendly and accommodating. The coffee and tea were perfect and the cookies were heavenly. The café doesn't seem so new anymore, but everything is very clean.

20/10/2024: Great place to sit out in the evening sun, you get full sun right up to sunset.

28/09/2024: Wonderful little pub, my friends and I come here very often. I love the atmosphere and attractive prices. Workers are super friendly too

25/09/2024: Chicken Jalfrezi, Dhal, Aloo Ghobi all had the same taste, similar to a beef stock flavour. Not pleasant at all. Very expensive for what you get. The only decent bit was the Chicken Tandoori starter. Never again. The search goes on for a decent authentic Indian restaurant
