26/10/2024: Had a booking for 7.30pm, not greeted upon arrival, simply told we'd have to wait until a table was cleaned. Staff scarcely attentive and not very friendly. Starter was lovely, main course @ 32.95 each (seabass) was very disappointing....overcooked, skimpy fillets and vegetables which had been zinged jn microwave. Lack of attention by waiting staff throughout the evening. Has really disimproved since out last visit about 18 months ago, despite being a third more expensive. This was a birthday celebration and we wanted to stay local...expected better.

20/07/2024: If you happen to be in Ennis, maybe on the way to Cliffs of Moher and looking for a good place to get a quick sandwich. I would highly recommend the Snack Shack. This was by far the best sandwich I have had in all of Ireland and the people there couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating. The bread was fresh and delicious and they make it to order. Highly recommend!

11/11/2024: Excellent hotel. Irish Girl Guides had their Trainers conference there last weekend. Excellent frendly professional staff, good size break out rooms. Beautiful food. Very attentive staff.

12/11/2024: Food was solidly alright, nothing to write home about. Expansive menu, but food was underwhelming. I sat there thinking I genuinely could have made something better at home. Staff were friendly and accommodating, while busy. Atmosphere was lively, I would go back for drinks and company but not for a meal.
10/11/2024: Stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. Had the soup and sandwich combo. Vegetable soup was lovely just the right size portion some nice memorabilia around the bar. Only one small issue the combo was advertised for €10 and when we paid the bill we were charged €11.50 even still it was very nice and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back

05/11/2024: Great hotel. Friendly staff. The boardwalk is great to have situated at the back of the hotel. The room was comfy and warm. The shower however was always luke warm and would turn colder and hotter which wasn't pleasant. We stayed 3 nights so it was an ongoing issue which made having a shower something to avoid. The toiletries in the room were absolutely gorgeous. Overall we would recommend the hotel as it met our expectations.
03/10/2024: Stopped here for food on my way from Dublin to Cork.
Premium Priced food for below average produce.
Wouldn’t recommend.
Service was good but food is not good.

30/08/2024: Definitely the best pizza I've Ireland, the portions are generous and the service is very fast. The prices can be high but they are well worth it.
20/08/2024: The meals are outstanding value and you'll never ever walk away hungry from there - one plate would feed two people so don't order large anything unless you already need to go on a diet 😜

09/10/2024: Very tasty vegetarian pannini, lovely giant mug of mocha, and a comfortable spot to pass some time. Nice seating arrangements and aesthetics. Relaxed, comfortable vibe. Not the cheapest, but who wants to spend a good period of time drinking cheap coffee and trying to get work done in a cramped shop on plastic seats?
09/10/2024: We came to celebrate passing the driving test. The order was a sandwich 🥪, a coffee, a cake and a pot of tea. The pot had one tea bag in and tasted like a tea flavoured water. That's okay, no stress but I went to ask for another bag cos It was too weak for me. The assistant was new on the job and nice and gave to me. I went back to the table and as soon as I sat back down, her supervisor had sent her over to ask me to pay for an extra tea bag. I was shocked and gave her back the tea bag. I took one from another pot that another customer left after leaving. I'm not even mad, jus think It's hillarious how petty some ppl are.

03/11/2024: I stopped here after hike around lakes nearby for a healthy dinner. Somehow, I've ended up with a homemade beef burger 😉, and it was delicious. Death by chocolate for dessert was also a good choice. The staff is super helpful and eager to go the extra mile. I'd happily come back.
09/10/2024: This a real Gem in the heart of Portarlington. If you want great food, efficient friendly service and reasonable prices then this is your place. I will be back.
