16/07/2026: Another AMAZING night in the Square Bar, came into watch The World Cup and ended up playing the The Quiz. Great night with amazing staff highly recommend to all and a special shout out to the staff; Aoife, Alishia, & Niamh!! I'll be back for the final & quiz again

27/05/2026: As always, very relaxed. And as good as ever. Staff are great and make you feel at home! Plus Wednesday night table quiz is great fun.

03/05/2026: Portlaoise was amazing but this pub was local clique and NOT open to visitors. Hosts put up food but locals preferred sandwiches to curl up and get stale rather than share with visitors having a few pints.

23/06/2026: After a recommendation we called into hummingbird for a snack. It was 4.30. We were curtly told no deli food available by a very unfriendly lady. She was making up something for people and sharply asked them ingredients, no expression, no chat. They remarked to us she was "like a briar". Won't be back, a smile, chat about the weather..anything would have worked. Very disappointed.

20/06/2026: Coffee is too hot and bitter. The lemonade is sour to the maximum. You better off drinking just pure lemons or a san Pellegrino can. But the atmosphere of the place is lovely and the service is really good too.

21/08/2026: This place has gone way down hill recently. I had food from there a few weeks ago and it wasn't great. It used to be good and they always delivered quickly so I tried it again yesterday. It was absolutely dreadful. We threw out most of it. Complete waste of money.

02/08/2026: Staff are very slow and awkward , arrived before the movie even started and still ended up missing 25 minutes of the movie waiting to get my drink. Cinema wasn’t even that busy . Cinema is ridiculously expensive 45 euro for two tickets and one drink absolutely chronic . IMC cinemas are way better value

26/08/2026: Terrible service, the person asked what I wanted, then had a conversation with another staff and just walked away with the other person. The next staff just left me waiting in a scone. The tables were filthy as was the seating. The windows, I couldn't see through them. An awful place.

01/09/2026: This is a lovely old world hotel . The problem is, I couldn’t find anybody, but it has loads of charm and character This great space all around if you had a van or a Camper van or a truck to park The Shop itself had everything you would need it at a coffee machine. It has hot food sandwiches drink drinks, coffee tea.

13/03/2026: We had a blast🎊🎊🎊 we had a friend from Kansas visit and we chose the Sally's for the night, it was the best choice. It was karaoke night, we meet a wonderful group of people, the service was excellent, and the music, just what we needed. My friend was so exited with the atmosphere and all. Highly recommend the Sally's

12/04/2026: We are regulars at this wonderful cafe. Love the food (recommend the French toast and the full Irish). Lovely vibe and genuinely friendly staff. 10/10 recommend.

20/06/2026: Our main course dishes were nice and tasty, very generous in portion. Side rice, we're ok. My spring rolls were ok, little cool on the inside! Service was quick and polite. Basic interior, but functional.

13/06/2026: We recently dined at Emperor's House in Portlaoise and overall had a pleasant experience. The food was very good, arriving nice and hot, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. That said, we found the pricing quite high, particularly when you consider that all sides are charged separately. For example, BBQ ribs were €10.50, soup was €7, and a spring roll starter was €7.50. Two children's goujons and chips meals came to €24 in total. It's important to note that rice (€4.50), chips (€4.50), and noodles (€6.50) are all additional charges. Sauces were also extra, with curry sauce and honey sauce both costing €5 each. One of our daughters wanted something similar to a spice bag and was served salt and chilli chips (€7) plus salt and chilli chicken (€10.50), bringing the cost of that meal to €17.50 before any extras. Drinks were also on the expensive side, with Heineken Zero and Smirnoff Ice both priced at €5.95, a bottle of rosé at €27, and coffee at €3.90. Overall, I would rate the food 8/10 for quality and presentation. The food and service were very good, but the pricing structure, particularly the additional charges for sides and sauces, made the overall bill much higher than expected.

01/08/2026: Worst gym in town. It has got no air conditioner and it feels wormer than outside. Also, there are no fans available. They keep the windows closed and you are not allowed to open them. Management are indifferent about the issue. Would not recommend this leisure centre to anyone.

28/07/2026: I haven't used the gym but the pool is decent ,ive heard of some kids misbehaving recently but ive only ever gone during times its mostly empty and it was ok. The surrounding play area and skate park are also decent

21/08/2026: We ordered some meal deals and the food was highly disappointing. The taco chips were awful with bad mince, all the chips were severely overcooked, and the battered sausages were completely cremated with a strange, dry brown meat inside. Even the drinks were wrong—the Coke Zero tasted watery and weird, and the kids wouldn't touch them. The chicken tenders were the only good part of the entire order. Looking at the cans, they are cheap Danish imports. The food quality was obviously of a low cheap grade and then overcooked. Keep your money, have a bowl of cereals this place isn't worth it.

28/07/2026: Khan was always a gent! Food is always a 10/10
